Dreyer & Reinbold VW

I love this dealership and the staff that works there. I’m always greeted when I arrive and appreciate the comfortable waiting area. There are complimentary hot and cold drinks, which is nice since they only had me there for about 40 minutes for my oil change. There are friendly staff members all over to help answer questions about new cars, service, etc. I’ve purchased two cars from here and will continue to as long as I can.

This is a split review. First for Sales, Second for Service
This is for sales group circa 2011, hopefully there is better turnover here.
I can’t comment on the previous review as I came to the dealership knowing what I wanted to purchase so I didn’t need much info, just someone to give me a great deal and push the paperwork. The first car I purchased from here went smoothly at the most competitive price that I could negociate between the Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio dealerships. The experience trying to purchase the second car a few months later was basically a dead end. Apparently sales are going so well here that if they have to do much more than walk out and sell a car in their lot It’s going to be difficult for them. I came in with the car I wanted, told them which dealership has it, and asked them if they could make it work. The sales person Jason told me he would check it out and give me a call back. Unfortunately they never gave me a call back. I would have at least appreciated a call letting me know they couldn’t compete. Anyway, no skin off of my nose I drove up to Vorderman in South Bend and struck a great deal.
The service group, as I can speak to my experience with Mitch has been great. Mitch was very attentive, helpful and willing to give me the benefit of someone who purchased a car from them (for both of my cars) even though I was only able to purchase one of my cars from them. The warranty work took a little longer than expected and I appreciated his good communication concerning the short delay.
So for sales Eek to Meh…
For service I’m a fan!

This was by far the worst dealership I’ve ever com across. I walked through the entire lot without a single sales rep saying a word to me. Once I walked into the sales office to ask for someone I waited an additional 10 minutes. Once I had a rep talking to me I cut to the chase and asked to take a car home on an overnight test drive to see if it is something I would want to purchase. I was told no by two representatives of this company and then was told by a third that my request was unreasonable and silly. Apparently a 10 minute test drive around the block is enough to make a good decision on a large purchase. I explained that my previous car buying experiences allowed for this request and was told to go back to that dealership. When I said «but they don’t sell Volkswagens» she shrugged her shoulders.
It’s pretty obvious that this dealership could care less about the customers that walk onto the lot. It’s unfortunate that there are only three dealerships in the area and now I have to drive three times as far to the next one and five times as far for the furthest in the city to purchase this car. What compounds the problem is that any time I need service, I cannot take the car to the closest location because if the purchasing process is riddled with rude staff, I can’t imagine what the service process would be like. Avoid this place at all costs.
