Came here last night for a dinner with my fiancé’ and was Wowed by the food but not the service! The restaurants was not busy so I am not sure why the service wasn’t top notch, and I noticed that it wasn’t just our table. A guy two tables over had to get up to get his check, another gentleman right next to us had to ask for his drink twice. We would definitely be back for the amazing food and I really hope that when we come back their service gets better.

The place is beautiful with an inviting atmosphere. I wish I could say the same about the quality of food. I got a Caesar salad with shrimp and the squash ravioli. The ravioli was a very big disappointment and felt like it was just heated up. The lettuce in the salad was wilted and seemed not fresh. For being On Greenwhich Ave I would’ve expected a lot more! Save your money and go elsewhere! The reason I gave it 2 stars instead of one was because of the atmosphere

You would never guess it from the outside but defiantly expect it being on Greenwich Ave. By far one of the most beautiful restaurants I have stepped in. Extremely high cathedral style vault ceilings with some wonderful chandeliers. They have a skylight window which gives you an opportunity to gaze at the stars on a beautiful evening. Dining room consist of two floors but you’re better off on the first if you want the beautiful ambience and atmosphere. We came in on a random fall Saturday after a little shopping extravaganza on Greenwich Ave. We were quickly seated on a corner table with no delay. Being extremely hungry we skipped appetizers and went straight for our entrees. I ordered the orecchiette with broccoli and house sausage while she ordered the lobster rigatoni. Portions are fair and will easily fill anyone. The orecchiette came out extremely good but could have been cooked to be a bit softer. Still full of flavor and tasted wonderful. The lobster rigatoni was perfect except they could have put a few more pieces of lobster. You’d have to dig around to find them. Good wine and drinks selection. Price? Shouldn’t be discussed or even matter, you’re in Greenwich, CT. Staff members are great and pretty prompt. Very friendly and thank god judge free. Being that we went shopping one can imagine we prefer to look comfortable. For us, dressing comfortable means dressing homeless. With the high class and pretentious atmosphere, our attire certainly was not appropriate for the restaurant. We don’t save nice places for special occasion, we just eat what we crave. Overall, good place and good experience.

I am giving Morello one star based on the following. I called the restaurant that day to make a reservation for dinner that evening, having read on BYOB site that Tuesday is «free corkage» night I figured I’d double check with the reservationist to make sure they still were doing this promotion as I realize these promotions sometimes are no longer active. After securing a reservation, I specifically asked the reservationist if the restaurant was still doing free corkage on Tuesday nights. I was told they were still doing it. Upon arriving at the restaurant with our bottle of wine our waiter asked us if we would like him to open the bottle of wine to let it breathe. About 5 minutes later he came back with the bottle of wine asking us if we were aware that there was a $ 25 corkage fee. My response was no since I was specifically told there wouldn’t be one. He told us that the restaurant is no longer doing this promotion and that it was done in conjunction with some food tasting menu. Needless to say, I was quite annoyed having made the phone call earlier that day to double check on the free corkage for Tuesday evening. I asked the waiter to ask the manager if we could be given free corkage for that evening en llieu of my earlier conversation with the reservationist. The manager simply stated that he would not accommodate my request. Come on people get it together here! Train your staff so that they can give accurate answers to very specific questions. Totally ridiculous… because of the pompous attitude of the manager we will never go back to Morello. Good luck you guys, this is exactly how restaurants who handle situations like this go under!!!

We placed our order at 13:50. Its now 14:55. No food yet. Talked to someone??? Who said it would be another ten minutes. They obviously forgot to put in the order. Lame excuse of the temperature of the meat. Its now 15:00 and the food just arrived. Admitting a mistake is easier to take than an obvious excuse. Ok, food is good, really good. Let’s just say they redeemed themselves in the end. We will try again in the future.

I came here with my family while in town and had an excellent meal. It is always a good sign at the beginning of a meal when a restaurant serves high-quality bread. We had the mixed greens and fried broccoli to start. They managed to serve the fried broccoli without it being overly fried, while still very crispy. The braised short ribs, roasted chicken and branzino were all excellent. The mashed potatoes that came with the short ribs were very flavorful and the fried brussels sprouts that came with the chicken were just like those in the South. We also split the donuts(decent, not great) and molten chocolate cake(very good) for dessert. If we are in town again, we will certainly be back!

I just took out lunch from Morello, three paninis, chicken, meatball and a special, Philly Cheese Steak. All were very delicious. They forgot to include one in the order and promptly delivered it to my office, and even threw in some awesome, warm donuts to make up for their error. Very nice people and great food! We also had an office happy hour there last night and the bar is small but a good size for a group of up to 20. Nice bartender too!

We were told we could only sit at the bar because they were over booked. Upon arrival the restaurant was almost empty. They«found» a table for us and«gave» it to us. When we left 1 ½ hours later the restaurant was still 75% empty. The food was not good. My salad was a mound of arugula with almost no dressing, raw almonds and cheese. No seasoning at all, no finesse. My husband’s ceasar had no seasoning. We both had pasta and no one offered pepper or parmesan. I was astonished at the service and the food. I expected much better. Desert was just ok.

My first Unilocal review… it was that bad I had to come on here to warn others. Called the restaurant 3 times asking for an earlier reservation, but they said that they could not accommodate and we can wait at the bar — upon arrival, the restaurant was 75% empty. That wasn’t a huge deal, but the poor service was. Had legitimately 6 different waiters/waitresses — the first came up and asked if we were ready to order without taking a drink order or even saying hello. The busboys were the only reason we left a decent tip knowing they were doing all of the work while the waiter(s) collects the unwarranted tips. The food was OK at best, the only highlight were the doughnuts. I had bolognese(eh) and my GF had the mushroom raghu w/truffle, which she liked. Good service makes OK restaurants have repeat customers, which i suspect Morello has very few of.

Really beautiful restaurant and nice layout. We sat upstairs and our server was pretty good. I had a yummy dirty martini. For appetizers we had the meatballs and calamari– both VERY tasty. I had the Roasted Scallops as my entrée. It had cauliflower, guanciale, pickled raisins, and capers. One of my friends had a black truffle pasta, which I was jealous of! love truffles! For our dessert we went with a molten chocolate cake and the doughnuts… amazing!

Food was good. The bartender was warm, helpful and competent. Monday to Thursday 3-course dinner prix fixe is a good value. Will revisit and try other items on the menu.

Stopped in on Friday night around 8pm with a few friends for an appetizer. The place is beautifully decorated. We ordered drinks and the cheese plate with 3 cheeses: taleggio, truffle tremor, and the gorgonzola dolce. It was delicious! They give you a nice bread basket to go with it and a few breadsticks. I will certainly be returning for dinner as I’m sure their meals are equally as tasty.

The food is decent, though nothing for the record books. The burrata was tasty, the meatball appetizer okay. Pasta dish was fine, salmon cooked well and fresh. Desserts very good(esp the donuts). Poor marks on service but when we complained our drinks were comped so that was appreciated. Terrible music on a recent Saturday night! The thumping alone will keep me away next time, unfortunately.

Consistently good food. Donuts for dessert are a family staple. We have the same waitress every time. She is always smiling and accommodating. We have only lunched here, but it’s always been a good experience.

The food was very good though my husband said his chicken was overcooked. The service was very disappointing. Snarky and lacking. No energy. The staff acted as though they were doing us a favor. This happened last time we were at the place. Couldn’t find a manager to raise the issue. No thanks when it was time to pay the bill or when we left. Too bad we used to love this place.

So many things when wrong with our dinner last Saturday night that I don’t know where to start. The tile ceiling makes the place a noisy echo-chamber. The service was so bad that I practically had to tackle someone to order wine. We waited an hour between first and second courses, and when my salmon arrived it was almost uncooked, and cold. I sent it back and it returned almost scorched. If it is important for you dine in a place where everyone is wearing very skinny jeans, very high heels and very dyed hair, this is the perfectly shallow place for you. There are so many good places to eat in the area… only go to this one if you cannot get a reservation anywhere else.

I have been here a handful of times and have yet to be dissapointed with the food. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with high domed ceilings and the exposed brick wall. elegant atmosphere! Service is a little klutzy during Sunday’s brunch, but thankfully the food has always been wonderful! Ordered the beef carpaccio and butternut squash ravioli and my friend had the handmade pasta with the mushroom ragout on our last visit. Visually the pasta dishes looks heavy for the stomach. but once you get a forkful of pasta hitting your taste buds.. It is anything but heavy! Tiramisu, heavenly! That’s all. go try it out for yourselves. no more words on this, once you go the food sells itself.

We ate here on Sunday, May 19. Party of 3; sat in the back of the main floor … by the kitchen(not a problem). This is a tale of two restaurants. Receptionists(3 !!) were pleasant and prompt. The food was FANTASTIC. 10 stars!!! Fabulous flavors; fresh; wonderful spices — subtle, not overpowering. Really imaginative, every bite was a pleasant experience. Two things **killed** the experience. 1. The waitress. Young, attractive. She had a Russian-type accent. We had a hard time understanding her; and she apparently didn’t hear us very well either. She botched the drink order. After my two fellow diners ordered the waitress just… left. I had to flag her down to get a beverage ordered. She rarely reappeared(‘how is everything?’) and it was tough to get the check and get out. 2. The ambiance. Gorgeous restaurant. Superb food. And… LOUDROCKMUSIC. Hey, owner, this isn’t some college hangout. There were adults present… trying to talk and be heard. This high-ceiliinged, stone floor room was a giant echo chamber with blaring bad rock. Someone is NOT thinking… how about some music to subtly complement the food. My hearing is sensitive… and I love good music. I could NOT go back there until this is fixed. I hope it is! But someone is not paying attention to the details. I can’t imagine what it would be like with a full house. Maybe that’s why most of the tables were empty on a Sunday afternoon in Greenwich!

I know it is sometimes hard to get a real sense of a restaurant on a holiday, so I imagine based on earlier reviews that Morello Bistro is generally a great place to eat. We ate there for Mother’s Day and were really not impressed with the service or the food. Our server was clearly not having a great day and was short with us throughout the meal. Perhaps it had been a long morning? We ate off of the special brunch menu and most of our entrees were served barely warm. The corn bread was not cooked and when we told them this, they brought it back into the kitchen and put it in the oven, returning it later(with the bites missing) still uncooked. The ambiance was really nice… outdoor seating was charming. The hostess was lovely and they were friendly about us being late. That all said it was really not all we had hoped it would be for our Mother’s Day meal.

So I should start off with a disclaimer that I am incredibly are to please. That being said, I would not recommend any other Italian restaurant on Greenwich Ave. other than Morello Bistro.(…and trust me, I have tried them all numerous times) I especially recommend the Lobster Rigatoni which was plentiful with juicy lumps of ocean scented lobster, succulent delicate tomatoes, and briny olives… Although, the other pasta dishes also stand up to this same par… However, the real treat(for guests who frequent the bistro) is the Friday and Saturday night specials that the chef has been perfecting all week long… I once had this beautiful Sous Vide Octopus salad with Blood Oranges, fresh Fava Beans, and three type of watercress… Simply divine… The staff is friendly and seems always to remember my drink… At times my gin and tonic can arrive to the table even before I do… And for someone who dines out 4 – 5 nights per week, personally tailored service is truly appreciated… From the beautiful art and vaulted ceilings to the charming service and simply delectable food, Morello Bistro is a dinning experience not be be missed.
