This place is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Greenville due to its amazing, fresh baked goods and the selection of organic and earthy products that they carry. My absolute favorite is their oat berry bar, it is incredible! And their scones are all awesome!

Location, location, location on the rail trail is the Swamp Rabbit Café’s main asset. The place is very small which adds to the ambience, but the service is always, always awful whether they are crowded or empty. Employees are too busy being cool to even care about customer service. I watched a server wipe a table with her hand & brush the crumbs on the floor when delivering a customer’s food. Store layout assures constant traffic jams at the entrance. Ingredients are not disclosed on food items prepared there. If you have food allergies or essential dietary restrictions don’t bother asking about ingredients — they refuse and say ‘it’s proprietary.’

Love the lattes. Love the stecca. Love the playground. Swamp Rabbit Café offers a little bit of everything and some things you didn’t know you needed until you saw them(but who are we kidding, the chocolate chip cookies always speak to me). Beautiful local produce selection, dairy and meat items, and of course the food and drink menu. The café is also a King of Pops vendor so there’s always that added bonus –popsicles forever! The playground area is great for kids to burn some energy off but bring a pair of clothes for them to change into. The play area is wonderfully organic!

For a quick bite to eat or to cool off from a ride swamp rabbit is the place to do that. The organic grocery store and beer and wine selection is great.

Dear Swamp Rabbit Café, Everything in your store is top quality, fresh, local, and reasonably priced. You have the best coffee, sandwiches, and Popsicles on the planet. Everyone there is super friendly and never seems to mind my wild kids running around. My only complaint is the size of your store. It’s time to expand! Three people in line causes overcrowding, and I feel like I’m in the way if I’m sitting at the tables inside. Please expand.

We absolutely love this little place. The Swamp Rabbit Café in Greenville, South Carolina is located smack dab in the middle of the Swamp Rabbit Trail, which is an 18.7 mile hiking/cycling trail in the heart of the location of the previous railway system that had been nicknamed«The Swamp Rabbit», which incidentally is a real type of rabbit that can be found along the swamps and wetlands of the southern united states. By the way, the swamp rabbits do in fact swim. The Swamp Rabbit Café caters to a healthier lifestyle, with fresh, organic foods available to shop for and to dine on. They have both indoor and outdoor seating areas where you can grab a quick bite to eat before or after your trek on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. There is a small garden area where kids can play, and parking is available in their private lot. My favorite part within the Swamp Rabbit Café is the baked goods and coffee offerings that they have. It’s nice to know that you are getting something with wholesome ingredients from a local community shop. I highly recommend it.

Just to update my last comment — they definitely kicked the sandwiches up a notch. They are large enough to fill me up, and I love that they include fresh veggies on the side. Great addition! Oh how I wish I lived closer to this café — I could eat there every day!

I was really excited to see a small café with some specialty items that are hard to find. Unfortunately, the management/owners are quite rude and have zero customer service skills. A customer’s sandwich came out wrong and they were put off by the customer’s complaint and reluctant to fix the error. This is very dissapointing since its a great business platform.

This tiny, hole-in-the-wall grocery store and bakery is such a cute place to stop-by! I absolutely love their baked goods(the vegan and gluten-free donuts are unbelievable, as well as the scones!) and their lunch items are delicious as well. They promote organic, local, and healthier eating and encourage the arts and small local businesses by hosting local artists and vendor events several times a year. This place never fails to disappoint me! Do be warned though, because it is all local and organic, it’s quite pricey!

Wholesome baked goods, fresh local South Carolina produce, local meats, sandwiches, home baked breads and a small little area for enjoying a coffee or drink with friends. It’s a bit on the pricey side but that’s offset by the high quality and super friendly employees.

Great local business that sells produce, meat, and other items from fellow local businesses. You can get organic and vegan items here along with homemade cheeses and other things like salsa and hummus. Some prices are a little bit higher than a big chain store but you are supporting the local economy here. Most importantly is the scores. Oh boy oh boy oh boy. I must admit I like them all and usually swap between the blueberry and chocolate chip but when my sweet tooth becomes a savory tooth, then the cheddar chard scones are the answer. Wow, wow, wow. Soooo tasty. Head on over if you’re looking for something organic, gluten free, vegan, or sconilicious.

Whenever I come to Greenville to visit my parents, I always make it a point to try to come to Swamp Rabbit. Although I haven’t experienced the«grocery» side so much, the«café» side is great! The scones are some of the best I’ve had, and I definitely know about some carbs. The outside is crispy, but the inside is still moist. The perfect balance! I even got some right before they were about to close and they still tasted fresh. Get the spinach and cheddar. Apple walnut is a close second. Also, the chocolate chip cookies are tasty. Bonus: they are whole wheat. Love this place so much, I even bought a shirt.(Which is super soft, by the way.)

Adorable! Fresh! Friendly! A must stop if you are anywhere near the Swamp Rabbit Trail or just in the mood for something freshly made, organic and healthy. Love the produce room and all the Happy Cow items. Do yourself a favor and try a chocolate chip scone.

The SRC is fast becoming one of my favorite spots in town. The other reviews provide a comprehensive look at their operation so I’ll just add a few bullets with some of my favorite aspects. — The extensive selection of pastured, grass-fed, local meat. The prices are better than Whole Foods for comparable products. Plus some harder to find items like duck, quail, and goat. — The scones. Oh the scones. Both savory and fruit scones are baked fresh every day, and you can truly taste the fact that these scones recently came out of the oven instead of riding on a truck from Charlotte. — The huge selection of Happy Cow products at excellent prices. — Raw milk! Keep it legal dude. — Sitting outside in the sunshine at their picnic tables and watching the bikes and runners go by on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. And then feeling guilty because I am eating a scone instead of running. — Their discount club: you get a 5% coupon after 5 separate purchases. You can’t do all of your grocery shopping here but I find the Grocery a wonderfully cost-effective place to stock up on meat, eggs, milk, butter, cheese, and some fresh produce. And as someone who lives southwest of downtown, this is often a more convenient stop than driving out to the big organic stores on the east side.

Do yourself and your community a favor and check out Swamp Rabbit Café & Grocery. In fact, next time you are even tempted to brave Woodruff/Pelham Rd. to go to the big box grocery stores offering«organic» and«local», try Swamp Rabbit first. Trust me, you’ll thank me for it! Small but surprisingly complete selection of truly local dairy products, veggies and meats, along with fresh baked breads and bakery products, bulk items and other grocery/household essentials. Although supportive of the omnivore, they are also very vegetarian/vegan friendly. Just ask, and they will point out products that meet your needs. You won’t be able to do all your weekly shopping here, but a regular visit to this friendly, relaxed business will definitely ease the stress that all those giant parking lots and long lines you find at other stores cause us all. At the very least, stop in while biking the Trail, and grab a fresh made sandwich and cold beer to energize the rest of your ride ;)
