Scene: Dumb and Dumber at the diner in which Lloyd and Harry eat massive amounts of hot sauce and try to ease their flaming mouths with ketchup. Ya with me? Can you picture the old booths, wood laminate tabletops and laid back waitresses that might throw around words like«doll» and«shnookums»? If so, you can picture the feel and décor of Kathy’s Restaurant. The restaurant appears to be an old house transformed into a restaurant. The menu is typical greasy spoon(as far as breakfast goes). Kathy’s offers a $ 7.99 breakfast buffet complete with sausage, bacon, pancakes, hashbrowns, biscuits and gravy and fried mush. Did you catch that? Fried mush! I almost gave them four stars for the fried mush alone. My run-ins with this sliced cornmeal sweet are too far and few between. So, we weren’t throwing salt shakers over our shoulders or having a run-in with a gruff country boy by the name of Seabass, but we did experience the same feeling Larry notes while sitting in the diner booth, «Feels good to mingle with these laid back country folks». With restaurants like Kathy’s I often find myself coming back more for the laid back atmosphere than the greasy food.
