Harris Teeter

This is not your typical HT. It is located on the edge of ECU’s campus and a kind of sketch area of town. I never felt unsafe but not being from G’vil, my first impression was I’m in the wrong part of town. My second impression was this HT is tiny compared to the majority of HT’s I have shopped at. I stopped at the deli area first to get some prepared food for dinner. There appeared to be only one deli worker who was busy cleaning. I stood there for several minutes and she didn’t acknowledge me so I walked up & down the entire deli glass case section to insure she saw me and she still ignored me. At that point, I figured she wasn’t going to make any effort to wait on me (maybe she was trying to go home?) so I left the store. As I was sitting in my vehicle using my phone to locate another grocery store, I did notice that everybody leaving the store only had a couple of bags which leads me to believe this HT is basically an oversized convenience store.

This Teeter has great customer service, and when you have a VIC vard, you get some really good deals. It’s open 24 hours and they have a lot of items you need. I only go there to get items that are on sale, but save lots of money.

I’m going to miss the university Harris Teeter when I move to D.C. It’s open late, unpretentious, carries everything you need as a student and has a wonderful and friendly staff. They have those delicious, free sugar cookies and a coinstar. They also have a Redbox for movie lovers. I love this place.
