This is meant to be constructive, as I really want to like DAP House and truly hope they do well. We need more places like this in Greenville. I love the concept, fresh & local foods and seasonal, rotating menu. Ambiance is awesome and definitely one of the best in Greenville, love the bar, the lighting, the beautiful painted brick wall, the tall ceilings. Service is excellent — attentive and friendly. What more could you ask for? Likely the best service in town. Cocktails are very good, but only fill roughly ¾ of the glass. Not sure the reasoning behind this, but any other high-end restaurant in Greenville fills them to the brim. Top me off, DAP! A glass filled to the brim says: welcome, you’ve had a long week, relax and stay for a while. A fractionated cocktail says: switch to beer. Minor detail, but exceedingly important. This is the second time my meat was rather dry — first the steak, then the pork. The side dishes are always pretty delectable, however. Concept, ambiance, service, etc. are all very important aspects of a successful restaurant, but the main reason you go to a restaurant is to enjoy the food, to enjoy a meal that is better than what you can cook at home — and I was rather disappointed with the main entrée from both of my experiences, which is the impetus behind this review. DAP, you are so close to having a near-perfect restaurant, but your main discipline, your food, needs revamping. And I’m excited to see the evolution and development of the cooking at DAP.

I stopped in Greenville on the way to the beach this past weekend and stopped in DAP off of the recommendation of a friend. I loved the atmosphere that it gave off. High ceilings, brick walls, and a beautiful wooden bar. The bar was stocked with local NC beers on tap and well crafted cocktails. I had a Jalapeño Moscow Mule that was served how it should be in a copper cup, kepeing it nice and cool throughout the entire meal. My drink was not spicy at all but had a nice peppery undertone that made me glad I selected it for my drink that night. For food, it was hard to choose! DAP bases their menu on seasonal selections. We started with beef fat fries which were delicious. Not mushy and not over done. I decided on the blackened Mahi. It was a little dry but saved by the addition of tomatoes. My date had the shrimp and grits and those were great! If I went back that is what I would order. The sauce and greats were excellently cooked. The sauce tasted almost like a creole gumbo which was a nice take. There are so many small plates and appetizers it may be interesting to try sharing since everything looked tempting, the burger also looked good. I would definitely try again next time in Greenville!

I am short term resident of Greenville. One of the things I love about traveling for work is adventures trying local gems. This is it! I have been in Greenville since February… D.A.P. is my favorite discovery so far! Very cool ambience and décor… Great signature cocktails, too many amazing menu choices, and banana pudding with a twist for dessert! I can’t wait to go back!

Enjoyed our visit immensely. The service was excellent. We tried the shrimp, crawfish and grits, the steak and frites, the sweet potato enchiladas and the fried chicken. My favorite was the shrimp and grits. All were very good. The Whiskey Banana pudding was delectable. Great local beer selection. Loved the ambiance with the old murals. Acoustics are bad and the place is loud. They are only open for dinner which is a bummer.

Great spot for Greenville. Very neat venue. Word is that the painting on the walls were recovered during demo/construction of current restaurant… pretty neat. Bar staff is great… they know how to make a quality drink. Waitstaff is very friendly and customer oriented. Food is amazing. Very unique and rotating menu. Only downside(s): –very loud, they need some sound dampers installed. –bit pricey… but at the same time the price keeps the atmosphere/customer base on the classy side.

Go here! Great service and unbelievable food. Can’t believe it took us so long to come here. We had the beef fat fries and deviled eggs for an appetizer which were both good. We had a really hard time deciding on dinner but ended up with the Redfish which my wife loved and I had one of the most insanely good dishes I have had ever, the Brisket Mac. I travel frequently around the country and eat a lot of quality food and this ranks right up there with some of the best.

Came upon this gem while in town for business and suggested by locals. Sort of a farm to table gastropub. Excellent choices offered on the focused menu. It can get a bit loud because of the hard floor and walls, but that’s to be expected. Very savory food and solid service.

I come to Greenville several time each year for work and have generally been fairly disappointed with the dining options in town. DAP House has given me something to look forward to on my next trek. I brought a 4 people from work with me and we all thoroughly enjoyed our food. I was having trouble deciding what to order as the menu had numerous options that were unique. The server made a comment about the Mac n Cheese with brisket in it that changed my order at the last moment. I won’t write out what she said as some may raise an eye at her comment but I found it hilarious. Let me tell you, I would do the same for this Mac. It’s like a Mac and cheese sandwich but the bread is bbq brisket. Done Deal!!! Others in our group(all locals) had the Pig N Grits, Gumbo and Fried Chicken and had high praise. I tasted the gumbo which I didn’t particularly care for but I’m not a fan of okra. I also tastes the Pig N Grits which I may order the next time depending on what the specials are which I hope change seasonally. I like good craft beer and they had some good stuff. I’d like to see some more beers on tap but they came through with the bottles beer for me. I had a Highlands IPA which had a great West Coast IPA bite like I’m accustomed to. If I end up in West NC I’ll drive out of my way to visit them The service was fantastic and the atmosphere was certainly a step up from the typical Greenville establishment. On my next trip I’ll be back, maybe twice!

Overall the food is good, hopefully there will be more selections on the menu in the future. Very loud atmosphere when crowded but understandable because they want to turn tables. The staff is very nice, definitely will return.

Wow! This place is a must go! Last night I was looking for a place in Greenville to eat as I’m from out of town and I decided to try this place. I have nothing but positive things to say and that is not common. We were quickly and kindly greeted at the door and shown to a table. The restaurant is spacious and there is plenty of room to walk and to have a bit of privacy between tables. This also would be great if you have someone in your party with a handicap. The server immediately greeted us and we were pleasantly surprised at the variety of beers on tap. My friend and I tried the fried okra and the crab/corn fritters and they were both delicious. The okra had a nice kick to it and went well with the homemade ranch. The remoulade was a great complement to the fritters. For our main course I had the pork and was able to substitute collards for the brussel sprouts as those are not my favorite. The first bite I took of the pork was like heaven! It was seasoned wonderfully and although I might have cooked it a tad less, it was amazing that I made sure to get every last bite off the bone! The mashed sweet potatoes that accompanied the poke were divine. My friend had the ribs and beef fat fries. The ribs had a dry rub and were so good he wouldn’t even let me try them. The fries were hot, crispy and had an awesome flavor. Unfortunately we did not have enough room for dessert but the ones I saw being served looked scrumptious! I honestly may go back again tonight it was so good. You must go here, you won’t regret it!

Second time to try DAPH… the first time so crowded couldn’t even get a drink when trying to wait 45 minutes for a table. This time we were seated promptly. The atmosphere is nice, the noise level is up there. The menu was really tempting, with nice southern choices. We got the pimento cheese app, which was served with homemade crackers. Different then others I’ve tried. A tad bit runny, but tasty. I tried the trout over a potato hash with onions and collards. It was really good, maybe a little too much salt. My husband got the pig and grits, it too was good but also a little too salty. So glad to have a place to go to in Greenville with this kind of food selection and atmosphere. Hope they can keep it up. Consistency is hard to keep up. Hope you can do it. Just keep tasting what you are serving and don’t get complacent. Will be back to try again!

First the atmosphere is fantastic. I do wish they had a greeter at the door to explain to wait for seating or anything of the sort. The food was not bad. I feel as if it is a little over priced for what you get but not terribly so. The one thing I would say is the menu is written to be «fancy» and there are clear explanations of exactly what you are getting. I ordered the trout and wasn’t terribly amazed, matter of preference, it had a very strong oniony taste. The collards aren’t what I am used to eating but everyone who tried my food said it wasn’t bad. One word of advice the wine is over priced, period no other way to put it. I know this might seem like a negative review, but it’s not. The place is very nice, the staff extremely friendly, and the meal presentation is nice. I recommend everyone give it a try but be prepared to spend a little money.
