Spent three night here for a recent wedding. It’s got just about everything you want in a extended stay hotel. Full kitchen, Pantry, actual separation between the LR and BR with a full size door. Really all of the basics are covered. Two things I found lacking. In the bedroom a second night stand on the other side of the bed. If you sleep on the right side of the bed you have no issue. If you are on the left of your spouse, like I was, you pull up a chair and jury-rig something to get power to your phone and tabled for overnight charging. Second opportunity for improvement(this one is harder). In the LR there is an AC unit that is controlled by a thermostat that is also in the LR. During the night the BR temperature rose to somewhere just south of 100 degrees and I couldn’t figure out why since I has the AC set to 68. In desperation we opened the door between the rooms to let the cool air from the LR flow in. This worked but O thought how impractical of a solution. In the morning I saw that over in the corner of the bedroom there was an fan powered air pass through with a rotary speed dial. If you turn this on it sucks air right from the adjacent AC unit into the bedroom. This works effectively to bring cool air into the BR and allows you to keep the door closed. The fan is a little noisy(room 316) but turn up the TV and all wrongs are righted. So all-in-all its a pretty good stay and could even see staying here again. But as I was leaving one day I happened to see a sign for a Home2 by Hilton coming to a vacant lot nearby. Based on previous stays at Home2 Candlewood will have some stiff competition. Home2 had none of the noted weaknesses and they have a continental breakfast bar for residents. So next time you are in the area, make sure you check out both. If the Home2 is operational, it should be a real horse race!

Stayed here on easter break, decent size rooms with a cook stove, full fridge. Did not see a breakfast area but did have a mini store in the hotel. We had an issue with noisy folks above our room. We called the front desk and they did call the room to quiet down. I should have continued to call the front desk to complain but i did not. The next morning i talked to the manager. She made the issue right.

Very comfortable stay, enough so that I even extended my stay! Great night’s sleep in cozy beds, and my room was large with a good sized kitchenette and dishwasher, and a large bathroom. The room was even bigger than some New York City studio apartments. Fluffy towels, free laundry, and friendly, efficient staff complemented a lovely stay. Very good value for the money! My only complaints is that they did not have a complementary breakfast(not unusual for extended stay hotels, of course, but I’ve stayed at extended stay hotels that do provide free breakfast), and the corners of the bathroom floor seemed a little cruddy. Otherwise, a very good stay!

I was a guest here for about six months while I worked on a project. Under those circumstances I am not looking for a luxury hotel. I need a place that is clean, quiet and has decent furnishings above all else. I was very happy with the Candlewood Suites in Greenville and I would gladly return. The front desk staff were very polite, friendly and helpful and the housekeeping staff were great too. Well worth the money.

One Star is too much. how do you do negative stars? 6 months ago we made reservations here for ECU graduation weekend. Most hotels were booked solid already landing us at this extended stay hole. We made the reservations by phone, not Internet and had multiple confirmation emails. We even called the day before to confirm because we had special needs… My 85yo disabled grandparents can’t just be in any room. We showed up, unloaded… Not an easy feat for my 100% disabled veteran grandfather and his walker… Only to find that the hotel gave our rooms away! As an avid traveler, extended stay hotels to me said kitchen… Not ever in a million years did I think an extended stay place would have the policy that somebody who wants to extend their stay when the hotel has no availability could trump somebody with a confirmation email. So… Our room was given away, day of, while we were en route to the hotel. I’m dumbfounded. Beware that if you make a reservation at this hotel, even with a confirmation code, you might be SOL when you show up. The proper policy should be to not grant the extension… Any other hotel wouldn’t allow an extension ifs here’s no availability… But even if that’s the policy, then a true effort ought to be made to make other accommodations PRIOR to showing up at the front door. The 2 twits at the front desk were too incompetent to deal with the situation appropriately. While they did find us accommodations and Candlewood picked up the bill… Anything less would have been insulting… they didn’t make the effort. That’s why I’m pissed. They called… no voicemail, 1:45 minutes before we showed up at their door. We were already on the road. Why didn’t we show up with new reservations elsewhere already made? What would have happened if nothing local was available? They offered us a hotel 1.5 hours away, totally defeating the purpose of a hotel in Greenville for our early morning graduation. When I called corporate, the moron in their customer service said it was a local issue. No, twit, it is not a local issue. It is a policy and education issue. First, your policy is incredibly flawed. If you’re booked… You don’t allow an extension. It is not your place, hotel, to make the judgement call as to whose situation deserves the room. If somebody has a CONFIRMATION then the ENTIREDAMNWORLD understands that to mean confirmed. Second… If you want this to be your policy, then every reservation should come with big print and special announcements that a confirmation can be bumped if somebody decides to stay. Your idiotic attempt to assuage me by saying this rarely happens made me want to strangle you through the phone. Not only will I never stay at your hotel chain again, I will emphatically tell everybody for the rest of my life to beware of extended stay reservations. I will make it my personal mission to destroy your convoluted, horrible-to-customer business concept for the rest of my life. I would love to have a conversation with the lucky guy who got our room Avoid Candlewood. call the Holiday Inn Express down the road. Not only was their staff more hospitable and competent, it is a nicer place in a better location.
