This is a great place for lunch. They are located in the lobby of my office building and I have eaten most everything on their menu. The food is always fresh and tasty. I usually call in my order because it can get very busy during lunch so I usually opt for take out. The staff are all friendly and I am very happy to have Zaytoons so close to my office!

I think the environment is cute and the service was nice. That said, it was not the best and not the worst Mediterranean. The good: the rice pudding, the iced tea. The weird: the falafel wrap had pickles on it. That was definitely a first and while I like pickles I have never had a wrap before with that choice. Also, the texture of the falafel was a tad mushy. I got a side of hummus and pita. The pita was all cold and sort of stale. The hummus was thinner than expected but tasted good. I think it is excellent that they try so hard for more organic fresh ingredients but at the price point they are charging I was not impressed.

Wonderful lunch choice downtown. I especially adore the mojadara and baba ganoush but I have to say everything has been tasty. I’ve been for lunch probably two dozen times and pick up ready-made food at the farmer’s market. Locally owned, they are happy to «veganize» their specials and are just lovely people. Clean, quick, friendly. Love Mediterranean food and never disappoint.

I eat here quite a bit. Have NEVER had a negative experience. The ingredients are always fresh. The restaurant is always clean. The owner and staff are friendly. If you are there after lunch, the owner will tell you why her feta is the best in town!

Based on one visit for lunch 11÷19÷13… PROS: –Simple but varied menu –Clean, modern, open environment –Focus on local, vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and halal products –Friendly, fast service –Large outdoor inner courtyard CONS: –Location and hours LOCATION: Located on the backside of the bottom floor of a of a downtown building with no obvious outside signing, you just have to trust it’s there. Parking is primarily street(metered) or the nearby parking garage so expect to pay for it. Also, entirely driven by location I am sure, they are only open M-F from 10am-3pm. FOOD: Though only open for lunch, the menu is decently diverse. The starters include a few appetizers(all Mediterranean specific such as Hummus and Baba Ghanouj) in the $ 6.5 — $ 7.5 range and soups & salads that are a little more. The menu claims the soup is homemade daily. The main choices are broken out between ‘entrees’ and ‘sandwiches/wraps’ but there is at least 20 choices and they vary from hardcore Mediterranean(i.e. gyro, spanakopita, kafta) to straight up American(Angus burger, steak sub). The entrees all come with some type of side and are around 9 bucks. The sandwiches and wraps give you a choice of hummus, side salad or local fruit as sides and are in the $ 8 price range. There are also a few desserts available as well as pre-packaged bulk items that make good to-go items. I ordered that Kafta wrap and a small hummus side. I thought both were good with the kafta seasonings being very good. I wouldn’t say they are my favorites locally but I would definitely order it again. Also, there is enough of a variety that I want to return to check out some of the others. 3 Stars for Food. SERVICE: I arrived for a late lunch — like 2pm — and both the front of the house guy and the cook were eating their own lunch but they jumped right up to help me. Both were pleasant and friendly, especially the cashier guy, and my food was ready very fast. I guess it needs to be given that 90% of their clientele must be business people jumping in for a quick lunch. 4 Stars for Service. VALUE: As I noted above, the prices can’t be called a bargain but are probably pretty competitive for a downtown lunch spot. I enjoyed the flavors and the portions size was perfect for me for lunch so I don’t see any issues here — 3 Stars for Value. ATMOSPHERE: This is a pretty expansive space just on the inside and there is a big inner courtyard for outside dining if the weather is nice. The area was pretty much neat and clean with lots of light coming through the windows. I even noticed what I think is a leave-and-borrow bookshelf available for customers. Kind of cool. 4 Stars for Atmosphere. I’ve only been once so take it with a grain of sand but I would certainly come back. I do like the focus on healthy, local selections and the varied menu. Food: 7⁄10; Service: 8⁄10; Value: 6⁄10; Atmosphere: 8⁄10

The food is incredible! No one ever smiles at me. Even if I say hello. My man at the register gives thee best customer service. But everyone else is pretty unfriendly to me. Not rude. Just noticeably unfriendly.

This has to be the best place to eat in Downtown during lunch. All fresh, local ingredients. Everyone of the lunch specials are good. Is kinda pricy for lunch, but well worth it. You’ll get plenty of food for you money!

Delicious organic food. Everything is great, especially the exotic lemonade! You can buy some foods to take home for later. Also, you can find Zaytoon wrap sandwiches for sale at Deep Roots co-op. The location of Zaytoon’s is nice; right next to the park. However, no waiter service, so it is hard to eat here with a large group, because each person’s food comes at a different time(take a number, pick up your order at the window).

Some pretty good, fresh, healthy, mediterranean food is served here. This is not a place you stumble on by accident, it is on the ground floor on a large office building, with no street presence. It is a bright, cheery, modern place with plenty of inside seating, and acess to seating outside in the building’s courtyard area. This restaurant is committed to, and pround of, its cooking code of ethics which is spelled out on a chalkboard near the pickup window — fresh, local, natural, & healthy. The fare is fairly standard mediterranean, with wraps, pita sandwiches, salads, soups, and a number of vegeterian choices in apps, entrees, and even sandwiches(like an Eggplant Sandwich, or a Falafel Wrap). Of course, they also offer a Thick Angus Beef Burger and a Steak Wrap, in case your are having lunch with a less informed co-worker, or an in-law. Both the Gyro on Pita and the Chicken Souvlaki in a pita are excellent sandwich choices — though neither is especially loaded with meat — pita and veggies comprise most of what you will consume. Gyro is the typical thinly sliced meat, but is not dry at all, and has a lot of flavor, though the Tzatziki is on the mild side. Chicken Souvlaki is chunked, rather than the thin, almost paillard version you see else. Flavor is nice, gyro is better, I think. Basically a fast food setup, but with much better ambiance, and a little less speed out of the kitchen. Place your order, pay, get a number, and fill up your drink. You pick up your order at the window marked: Pickup Here — that’s helpful, don’t you think? Gyro with a side goes for $ 7.25, Chicken went fot $ 7.79, drinks generally $ 1.90. Good service, friendly folks, nice lunch place — they’re only open 10 — 4 weekdays.

Omg I’m so mad I didn’t eat at this place sooner. They have fresh high quality ingredient. I’m a vegetarian and love their food. Also I sit and read their health books on my lunch break. I eat here 3 times a week. Favorite snack is hummus.

YEP and uh-huh to all the other reviewers! Zaytoon is kinda snuck off the beaten path in a nondescript office building and worth the look-see! There food totally is fantastic and fresh. I am a veg person and having a solid healthy resource for a flavorful vegetarian lunch is really awesome in the land of barbecue and fried goodies.

Hands down the baba ghannouj to end all baba ghannoujes! Seriously i spent a year in the middle east and a decade in new York and this is the best I’ve ever tasted. My long-distance relationship with a woman in GSO blossomed after discovering this local treasure. We enjoy going by their stand at the farmer’s market where you’ll be greeted by members of the family. Pick up the fresh fava dip, moujadara, and the almond cookies. But if you want baba ghannouj make sure to arrive early cause they often sell out.

3.5 stars. Kind of hard to find, but worth the hunt. Everything is local and fresh and tastes as such. Simple, delicious menu. The spanakopita was mouth watering, and the hummus was one of the best i’ve had in town. GO!

This is hands down my favorite lunch spot in Greensboro. The food is all really fresh and well made with an emphasis on local and organic ingredients. My standard is the chicken wrap. They also probably have the best and cheapest lunch burger in town.

I’ve been to Zaytoon twice as of yesterday, and both times my lunch has been out of control awesome. They’ve got a great gryo for just over five dollars, and all of their much items come with their delicious hummus. Sadly, they rely completely on the lunch crowd from the surrounding office buildings, so if you want dinner, pick it up before four and hang on to it, I guess?

Zaytoon is a great lunch joint in downtown Greensboro. Located inside the U.S. Trust building on the first floor, it’s the place to grab Mediterranean sandwiches, gyros, salads, lentils & rice, hummus, falafel, etc. They have a commitment to buying local & organic, plus non-hormoned dairy whenever possible, and I suppose that’s reflected in their slightly higher pricing — plan to drop around $ 10 – 12 for food and drink. The food is consistently yummy, although I wouldn’t recommend the bland lentil soup. The spanakopita is really awesome — crispity and lemony. The hummus is just okay. Zaytoon is only open 9am-4pm Monday through Friday, but they have a booth at the downtown farmers’ market on Saturdays where you can pick up a variety of a la carte items. They also have free wireless, and the owners & employees are nice.
