Wendover OB-GYN & Infertility Inc

I just went in today for my well woman visit. I wish I could give them more than 1 star, but several thing prevent this. I had to have a lab done, and after being told my labs were going to labcorp, I advised they were out of network with my insurance. I then requested my labs be sent to an in network laboratory, or I would have a much higher out of pocket cost. The representative told me no, and I would have to work that out with my insurance.
I work in the insurance industry, and thus have some insider knowledge on how to get it covered. But the office’ refusal to send my labs to a in-​network lab showed they REALLY don’t care about their patients potential out of pocket cost.
Finally, during the visit, the doctor I see, who I usually think is awesome, made a slightly off-​putting remark on hew way out. We had a conversation about the realities of infertility after a certain age, and I’m pretty sure she meant it as a joke, but it still made me feel a little uncomfortable.

I fly once a year from SoCal just to visit Dr. Lavoie. Her great personality and calm demeanor keeps me coming back. I feel I can ask and/​or tell her anything. I honestly say I trust her and the staff. In the world we now live in you always have doctors trying to up sell or order test that aren’t necessary. I was so happy when I found this office.

Very disappointed with my experience here with the CNM Daniela. On my first visit, she ordered a very expensive test ($ 750) my insurance did not cover without discussing it with me. I discussed my issue with the billing department and they told me this test was protocol to order even though they know most insurances don’t cover it. Basically I’m left with a huge bill for a test I didn’t even know I was getting. I think this was very irresponsible and I don’t plan to ever return to their office.

If you are a female looking for a OB or GYNO, then look no further. When I first moved to Greensboro I didn’t even think about searching out such an important doctor for female health. By casually asking around I discovered Dr. Cousins over at Wendover OB-​GYN. Since moving to Durham I still commute to see her because she’s that good!
The first GYNO I experienced in Greensboro I felt uncomfortable and left crying because the doctor was a jerk. One visit to Dr. Cousins and I left crying from laughing so hard. Seriously this women has the best bedside manner I have ever encountered. It is a little weird that her examination room is filled with pictures of all the babies she has delivered but since this is also an infertility clinic I guess it shows she can help you have kids.
As for me I have no interest in having kids at this time and Dr. Cousins was really informative of my options. The rest of the staff is also great, personable, and knowledgeable of women’s health. This is a great place to go for your yearly exams or if you are wanting to have children. If I will commute over an hour just to get my yearly examination, then this place is really something special.
