I always trust Steve’s. While other automotive repair stations try to sell services that are not needed, Steve’s is honest and only tells about service on cars that are necessary

I really, really want to give these guys a good rating, particularly as I want to support and encourage any remaining neighborhood service stations to keep jivin’. However, this has always proven to be a terrible place to try to get gas for both me and my roommate. The gas pumps are unreliable, sometimes taking as long as 20 minutes to fill you up, and the credit card machines are equally so. There just always seems to be a problem here; it’s never just go, get your gas, keep driving. Additionally, there is a female attendant who seems to always be there in the late afternoon/evening and who is one of the least helpful I’ve yet encountered; she has walked right by me at a ‘problem’ station and hasn’t said a word, until I’ve gone in and asked her a question, at which point she revealed that station is not working, but by that point several other people have appeared and formed a line for gas(this has happened several times). It sounds like the mechanics here are good, though I haven’t tried them; I’ve been happy with the ones I found elsewhere in town.

Steve’s Friendly BP is a family owned and run full service station. There aren’t many neighborhood service stations left which is a shame. Happily, Steve’s is close to home and work. They are skilled mechanics having serviced my Acura and BMW numerous times. They have performed the 60,000 service routines on my Ac twice charging far less than the dealership. Steve is very friendly and willing to help on the spot with minor issues. They get to oil changes and other service work fairly quickly. I love having someone I can trust and count on in the neighborhood.

I can’t believe nobody’s written a review for Steve’s Friendly BP yet… okay, I’ll be the first, and as a result probably be a filtered review initially. In my time in Greensboro, I really grew to appreciate Steve’s Friendly BP. Pros: –Very experienced mechanics –If you let them know that you are poor, they are willing to do the skin and bones repair to get you back on the road. –They’re friendly –They try to work within people’s schedules and time limits Cons: –In their willingness to get a repair done on the cheap, they sometimes don’t do as thorough a job as other car places –Uncomfortable waiting area In our 12 years living in Greensboro, my wife almost always went to Steve’s Friendly, and she never felt upsold or ripped off. They have always seemed honest to me.
