Went here last November for a friends birthday dinner. We reserved a corner section of the restaurant for the event. I had the jasmine tea, which was lovely. For an appetizer I had egg drop soup– that was the highlight. Unfortunately, the main dish I ordered was Pad Thai and the glass noodles were so sticky that the whole dish kept getting stuck in my chopsticks. The Thai chili paste also did not taste fresh. The service was also below par considering we had rented out a large portion of the restaurant. Gratuity for a large party is also recommended to be at a minimum 30%. Not worth the price for the quality of the food.

The interior is very modern, very pretty. Servers are prompt and efficient. The food always tastes fresh. Sauces are perfectly seasoned and portions are appropriate. I particularly like the wonton soup and the Walnut Chicken. And the in-and-out time makes it a great choice for lunch on a schedule.

This place is consistently great. We have gone here for many years and every time we are pleased. Service, food quality and the prices are very reasonable – especially for what you get. Love, love, love Phoenix Asian!

One of my favorite spots. Anything I have tried so far has been excellent. It’s hard to recommend a dish when anything you have ordered become one of your favorite dish. Variety of Asian dishes. I dare you to try one. ;)

I found this restaurant on a list of best Asian restaurants in Greensboro, so I was excited to try it this evening. I came in with my mother around 6 and they were very busy, but we were seated within five minutes after being told it would be a 20 minute wait. The ambiance was nice, if a tad loud, and the décor reminded me of P.F. Chang. We ordered the spicy calamari as an appetizer, and the Phoenix chicken and walnut shrimp as entrees. All three dishes were marked as spicy in the menu, which is just what I was looking for. However, all three dishes were not spicy as promised, but cloyingly sweet. The calamari was undercooked and rubbery. The chicken was hot and crispy and had the more acceptable sauce of the entrees, but the shrimp dish had absolutely no heat and was essentially a plate of sugar. The ratio of shrimp to chicken was also noticeably different — a whole heaping plate of chicken versus seven pieces of shrimp. I understand that they are different ingredients and one is certainly cheaper to procure than the other, but for the price it wasn’t acceptable. Two entrees and an app came to $ 50 with a tip, and we only drank water. I would note that everything arrived very quickly — we actually received our entrees before finishing the appetizer, but a quick delivery and nice atmosphere can’t make up for the fact that what was served was almost inedible, and no amount of soy or spice added to it could save it.

Phoenix Asian, or as my mom is fond of calling it… «Asian Phoenix» is an upscale Asian fusion restaurant that serves pretty good food, has an attractive atmosphere, and attentive service. It seems to be a favorite of my family for special events such as birthdays, and it is in an easily accessible location. So what gives with the 3 star rating? They try to Shanghai your wallet. For the money you’re paying, you’re either expecting exceptional food or a good amount of it. Phoenix Asian falls just short in both categories. The food is good, but not exceptional. The plates are not meager, but certainly not enough to share a whole lot with the table. Also, it has become clear to me over time that they are shrinking. One of my favorite appetizers, the crab volcano, is an $ 11 sushi appetizer that is essentially crab dip covered california rolls. It tastes great, but I was disappointed to see that the dish has decreased in size from what used to be about 12 pieces of sushi to 8. That is simply not adequate for $ 11. So while I like the ambiance at this restaurant, and it is a crowd pleaser for special occasions, I won’t typically frequent this place as a staple. It could increase it rating to 4 stars simply by providing a bit more value in its offerings.

Food was good and the atmosphere was good. They had a patio and I doors seating. The only issue I have is that the inside gets a little loud and it hard to hear your group of people. We had a 10 person group and the gratuity was automatically added. Nice place if you enjoy Asian cuisine.

Beautiful design and nice lighting. Friendly staff. Quick service. Lots of choices to eat an Asian-fusion cuisine. I got a rainbow roll one time & then Mongolian beef the next time. Always good. Always a satisfying place to go. Good for kids too. Just loud enough that we didn’t feel weird when my brother’s baby made a Unilocal every once in a while. Family dinners land here 65% of the time.

My second time here. The first was years ago, so I don’t remember what I had — but I do remember being underwhelmed. This time around, I had the spicy tofu. The dish arrived soft, room temp, and poorly seasoned. The gelatinous cubes were slathered with an unsalted, mild chili oil. Aside from the scallion garnish, there was no dimension of flavor here. A completely flat, uninspired dish. My wife got the honey chicken, which she thankfully shared with me. It was fine. Typical takeout preparation. In fact, like PF Chang’s, Phoenix is little more than amped up take out. I am once again reminded as to why I go elsewhere when I want actual Asian food. The lighting was very, very dim. Almost absurdly so. I’d imagine anyone with poor reading vision would struggle to read the menu. The service was very good. They clearly train servers to be attentive and efficient. A star for service.

This restaurant is a nice alternative to the hustle and bustle of PF Chang’s. A friend and I dined for lunch. The food here is fresh, hot, and comes out quickly. They have some pretty decent prices on lunch specials, but you can also order dinner items if one of those doesn’t tickle your fancy. We started our meal with an order of bang bang shrimp and hot and sour soup. The bang bang shrimp were awesome, the appetizer was packed full of flavor and there was no lack in the amount shrimp we got. This appetizer would easily be good for 2 to 4 people, and large enough for a meal for one. The hot and sour soup was good as well, but nothing special. For my meal I ordered the walnut shrimp, it was a dinner entrée. The candied walnuts tasted awesome! The sauce on the shrimp was a little off putting at first, the plum flavor of the sauce was overpowering. After adding a little hot oil and siracha the meal tasted much better because it cut down on the plum flavor. The large piece of lettuce for garnish was probably not needed as it just wilted throughout the meal. The entrée was served with both white and brown rice. The shrimp were large, but the meal was overpriced for the amount. I do also wish the sushi bar was open for lunch, maybe they could consider having sushi available on Fridays! All in all we will return when on this side of town!

I had dinner the other night at Asian Phoenix Cuisine. The place had a nice atmosopher with great mood lighting and music. I liked that you could hear the music playing in the bathrooom too. This price is a bit on the higher side then I like, Especally when you compare what you get for the price. I had an order of potstickers for a appeizter. I got served a plate of 4 :-(I was hoping for at least 5 or 6. Then as a entrée I got the rice and chicken dish. It was tasty and the sauces were full of flavor that I had chose to put on it. The food did seem like it took longer to prepare then most places that serve this type of food. Also We got seated at a table right at the door and everytime someone opended the door a rush of cold air would hit you. I felt sorry for the hostess that had to stay at the desk right in front of the door.

A nice surprise was awaiting me at Phoenix Asian and I’d avoided it for years! Why you ask? I hate chains for the most part! Well, walking in it looked as though I had entered P. F Jr! Well the prices and food soon told me otherwise! We were there on a Saturday for lunch, and it wasn’t crowded at all. They honor lunch prices seven days a week so I jumped on it! For around $ 9 I tried the Singapore Shrimp which was served with mixed vegetables and sticky white rice. The shrimp dish wasn’t spicy as it was advertised, but extremely flavorful none the less! The incredibly good Wonton soup that accompanied the dish was a added bonus! The other dish sampled was the Phoenix Lo Mein. It was equally flavorful and a very nice portion for a lunch special! Granted I have my favorite go-to Chinese that is unquestionably the best around, but I’m certainly excited to try Phoenix again for dinner!

(2015-October) We have been back and the menu selection has expanded twice what it was in 2011. The Mongolian Beef is excellent. The Kung Pao chicken was good and not excessively spicy. The pot stickers are offered either fried or steamed. We opted for fried. The were very good made with pork, garlic and ginger and fresh and tender. The spring rolls were excellent and fresh. Service was friendly, accomodating and spotless. During the meal, the staff checked on us to ensure all was well. I recommend you give it a try. The menu has Thai, Mogolian, Chinese, and Vietnamese entries.

My rating is more based on the service than the food but it all goes together. We were seated right away but then had to wait for nearly 10 minutes for anyone to even check on us, as multiple waitresses and waiters walked by. This was around 5PM last weekend and after waiting for quite some time, David, our waiter finally arrived. The restaurant was clean, the food was great, but the service was horrible. The drinks ran dry many times before anyone came back for refills and it appeared that they did not even care. I will give them another chance based on the flavor of our meal but the service will have to be better next time, or it will be my last.

My last experience here was not so great, however, Phoenix Asian redeemed themselves on this visit and they are back on my tried and true list. Service was attentive and very friendly as usual and the food was great. We tried the Kung Pow Chicken which was excellent. Ask for their chili sauce if you want to spice it up a bit. The Lemon Shrimp was very good with a fresh lemon flavor and large prawns. We also enjoyed the Chicken Lo Mein and Shrimp Pad Thai. Everything was very good. Great atmosphere, great service, excellent Asian food: I’m a happy camper again!

I was craving sushi and I had heard a lot of great things about Phoenix. The setting and ambience is really nice. We ordered the crab wontons to start and they were excellent. The sauce they were served with was great. I ordered the salmon nigiri and the monsoon roll: the salmon was really great, but the monsoon roll was amazing! The flavors and textures in the monsoon roll were on point A little bit of heat, but nothing over powering. I will definitely order this again. Great over all experience and I will be back to try more.

I’ve been to Phoenix many times and decided to finally write a review. It was almost full at 12:05 yesterday but we didn’t have to wait for a table. This place is popular with business folks and there were several large parties but the service didn’t suffer. The wait staff is friendly and efficient and the food always comes out of the kitchen pretty quickly. They have several lunch options that include soup or salad and a spring roll for $ 9.00. I’ve had the pad thai, Phoenix chicken, Kung Pao shrimp and the beef and broccoli. All solid choices. The hot and sour soup is good but I still prefer P F Changs.(I know it’s a chain but dang their soup is amazing!) Great lunch spot for a reasonable price.

One of my favorite asian place. The lunch special is very good, a lot of choices including for the soup which is pretty seldom. Which will mostly not makes your bored if you are going there often. The crispy stuff they give for the soup is actually the best I ever had. So far I tried the Phoenix Chicken, Honey Chicken and Walnut Chicken(yes I hate poultry). All good, but a special mention for the Walnut Chicken as it seems the walnuts are roasted which makes them crispy. May be try some other meat next time :)

I must say, they have pretty reasonable lunch specials, comes with a soup or salad, vegetable egg roll, brown or white rice, and the entrée. It’s a pretty descent size, a portion that satisfied my big eating habits. The food isn’t salty like most Chinese restaurants. If anything, it could have used a little more flavor. I made the mistake of ordering the walnut chicken. Which is an unusual dish to begin with because it’s usually walnut SHRIMP that is served at Chinese restaurants(at least what I’m used to seeing). But I gave it a shot. It was WAY too sweet for my taste buds. On the other hand, the egg drop soup was EXCELLENT! Probably the best that I’ve had. The egg roll was bland/average. Fortune cookie was stale. Lol Service was fast and friendly. They get very busy during lunch, but they have PLENTY of seats/space. So, I doubt you’d be waiting long. Ample parking in complex lot. Overall, this place was average to me. Perhaps I got the wrong dish. Would I try it again?.. sure…if I’m ever in the area, but I still prefer Vietnamese food!
