I am a 35 year old, responsible woman that works from home and was somehow rejected for adoption and I am not sure why. I am financially able to support a dog and the only reasons why I could imagine that I was rejected is because I currently rent a house, which allows small dogs, rather than owning(for the record the only reason why I rent vs. own is because I relocated and have not found a house to buy yet, or because I am single. My relationships status should not be a factor in this, as it is a personal choice, not because I am an unlovable idiot. During the application process, my references were NOT checked either — which would have solidified that I am a strong candidate to adopt and not an idiot. SOMANY animals need forever homes and second chances and NC Yorkie rescue and it is incredibly disappointing that NC Yorkie Rescue does not vet their applicants very closely. Beware — if you apply for a dog, you probably won’t get one from them as I read another review in which what sounds like a perfectly good family was also rejected. Ridiculous and elitist.

We got a Scnauzer/Yorkie mix. Best dog ever! Perfect with kids! We could not have asked for a better dog if we could have requested 1 made especially for us. He is adorable and loves our family! The owner has lots dogs to choose from and has them already fixed and micro-chipped. Check it out on-line! That is how we found the dog that we picked up.
