The one star was for the employees. They were decent. However, the Wyndham name brand should not be behind this cheesy place. It looks ok driving up to it but the rooms are nasty. There’s a tiny, tall, pink laminate closet for your clothes with an old box TV on top.(Think old hospital room). Even if they wanted to add flat screens they would not have a place to put them. Then there’s a small white laminate desk thingy(probably from the 70’s and was brought in from an older hotel?) attached to the wall and it had a nasty red stain on it. A chunk of the laminate was missing on the side. Bathrooms look like a truck stop. The tissue dispenser was rusted but there was an attempt to spray paint it white. The room was so heavily deodorized that I opened the window all night to breathe Fortunately it was a quiet, cool night so I had this option.

So, I want to start off by saying the staff at the front desk was amazing. Very polite and answered all questions. I was a little put off by the lingering smoke smell right when you enter the building but hey, if you know you’re walking into a smoking establishment, know that you will smell it right away. Another biggie, while waiting to be checked in, an unsatisfied gentlemen came to the counter and said he didn’t like his room because it was«ghetto.» I don’t know about you but hearing that made me wonder what these rooms actually look like. I knew they weren’t going to be fantastic because it is pretty cheap to stay here. There is literally a bed in a tiny room with a box tv and a desk lol If I had to stay any longer than a night i would have gotten something a little nicer but I wasn’t really worried about it. I had a concert to go to and didn’t come back until after midnight and upon my return, there was a car full of teenagers sitting at the entrance smoking weed I’m assuming to try to get a room to party for the night. If you are coming to Greensboro and want to stay in something a step up from the Motel 6, stay here. If not, check into one of the nicer hotels a crossed the street. You get what you pay for people!

The staff was very polite and nice at this Microtel. My aunt and I stayed at this location when it first opened years ago and really enjoyed it! Unfortunately, these days the establishment itself isn’t as welcoming. The hallway on the 2nd floor smelled like stale smoke. The beds were fine, however, the microwave and fridge were dusty on the outside and not clean on the inside so it wasn’t useful to have them in the room. I think new carpets and minor renovations would get this location higher ratings in no time. I hope to see improvements as I would like to stay at this Microtel in the future!

It wasn’t very pleasing. The employees were rather rude, the bathroom looked quite like a rest area’s one, with cigarette burns everywhere. There was a problem with the price too, an unexpected $ 20 charge that didn’t make sense. Would not recommend.
