How is it my order contains clams, yet your out of stock… But you want me to pay extra for a substitute. Somebody do that math for me?!

the chicken tenders/​strips are big, plump, and Hardee’sish. i think they may be cooking at a temp that is too high. my food was all golden brown but a little under cooked inside. I was not a fan of the whitefish because it did not seem to be freshly battered and fried.
The service was great and the tea was sweeeeeeeeet!

I have been here 3 times since moving her in August and there food is usually okay but today it was horrible. I ordered croaker and shrimp and when I got home the fish smelled bad and tasted worse so I returned it and switched out for trout which was another mistake. I think they gave me trout that had been recooked or way pass overcooked. The inside looked like it should have been the outside and was tough as rubber to break (I’m serious this is no exaggeration). I am so disappointed. I wish I could upload the picture but my app is not allowing me to.

This is the express edition of this long-​standing local favorite — much smaller than their normal layout, kinda shabby in a shabby part of town, it has a drive-​thru, and you’ll spend a little more time in this one than most you visit, 10 to 12 minutes.
I still find some of their seafood to be quite good, some other items not so much. Their Calabash style shrimp is always good, as is the Flounder, and the Bone-​In Trout, which has returned to the menu (but not at this location). The Trout and Perch filets just didn’t seem fresh the last several times I’ve tried them, so I’ll pass from now on those choices.
Their FFs are now more than passable, a nice step forward. The HPs remain solid, and the slaw still sucks — too wet, and bitter — made up to far in advance of use, I’d guess. Not a bad place for a once-​in-​a-​while stop by.

Hubby & I weren’t too impressed. We both had the whiting & shrimp special for the day. Mine with French fries, his with green beans. The fries were delicious! The whiting had ZERO flavor or seasoning. The shrimp (popcorn shrimp) while more flavorful than the whiting was scarce and left a lot to be desired in substance.
We both agreed that there would be no real reason to return as there are so many other options around.
The three stars are because the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Stopped by Libby Hill Express after a brief visit to Durham and Greensboro. Libby Hill Express is a no-​miss restaurant if you are looking for some freshly cooked wings and seafood. Everything ordered was nice and fresh. And was piping hot and cooked very well. The tea was amazing by the half gallon. Almost made a u-​turn to go back for more. The staff was very nice and provided the extras as needed. The place is perfect for grabbing a tail-​gate box via the drive-​thru if headed for a local football game! Highly recommend. I will be going back very soon!

If you like Hardee’s Chicken Tenders then you will fall in LOVE with Libby Hill’s.
They are hand breaded and deep fried to a beautiful brown color. You cant go wrong ordering that here. I do not recommend getting FF’s here as they are totally limp and tasteless. The Hush-​puppies totally make up for it.
Flounder is good here, I always request the dark side and it is full of meat! For the price you pay, the value is incredible. I really don’t know how they do it.
The boiled shrimp are good either hot or cold and you cant go wrong getting the whitefish here either.
Give them a try when you are in a rush and need something quick. I always get take out here as the atmosphere isn’t that great. I am sure it’s the area… No business should invest in redecorating in this depressed area.

Libby Hill is what I call fast-​food seafood. This location is convenient, and ther restaurant could stand a makeover. However, the staff was friendly and patient. Did you know they sell chicken wings… large, tasty, delicious chicken wings. They know how to cook the wings! The perch and shrimp special was pretty good today as well. I had not planned to eat any hush puppies, but once you pop one in your mouth, you won’t stop until they are all gone! I can always count on a fast, tasty meal at Libby Hill. For dessert, the key lime pie would have been the icing on the cake… but they were all out. Maybe next time.
