Gethsemane United Methodist Church

Not reviewing the church, of course, just the chili dogs they serve each Sat from 11 AM to 2 PM. A number of local church sell hot dogs from time to time, some on a regular basis, as does Gethsemane UMC — and there are some pretty good dogs offered in these places.
You order at the window, watch as the ladies assembly the order, and either wrap it up for take out, or tray it up for eating there. The wiener is a nice one (not all beef, but nice), and the chili is a thick, moist version, with just a hint of underlying sweetness — and they put plenty of the dog. The buns are nice & soft, the onions freshly cut, and the slaw has good flavor, but it is a wet slaw, so asking for only a small amount is probably a good call.
All in all, this is a good dog, not a great one, but at $ 1,.50 each, a good overall value. They also offer chips, drinks, and slices of home made cake, for those choosing to eat in. Good, friendly folks here — not a bad place to spend a few minutes on a Saturday at lunch time.
