This is my favorite downtown lunch spot. It is inexpensive and very filling. The chili is very good. I usually opt for the vegetarian chili because I think it has better texture and taste. Their garlic toast is simple, but amazingly good. The staff is extremely friendly.

The best little hole in the wall in downtown Greensboro. Not typically open for dinner just lunch. I found this place while roaming downtown during my jury duty. The atmosphere is like a little diner. Turquoise and white! Very colorful. Cincys is very small and not meant for super large groups. They serve the best Cincinnati style chili five way! Service is usually not a long wait. Prices are super affordable, so much so I ate here everyday for lunch during my jury duty. They offer burgers and sandwiches along with their delicious chili. You can also grab some scrumptious cobbler for dessert as well. This is definitely a restaurant to be featured on «Diners, drive-ins, and dives»!

I came here for a birthday lunch. To tell you the truth, this place is not my cup of tea. First the atmosphere was not too good. I didn’t enjoy hanging there or feel welcome. Second I did not like the food. I got the famous St. Louis style spaghetti with chili over it(is it Skyline chili maybe?). The chili is too salty and doesn’t really taste like chili to me. A lot of my friends actually like it. I just don’t. 2 stars for great prices and decent service.

Great spot for lunch! No it’s not fancy but it’s clean and the staff have been nice every time I’ve been. They have good vegetarian options and it’s always pretty quick. The veggie 5 way is great– I highly recommend. They normally have some good homemade cobbler for dessert also. The pasta salad is kinda plain tasting but thats about the only negative I have. Local places like this are great– there’s a reason they’ve been in business so long. Try it, you’ll like it!

Being originally from Ohio I was intrigued at the name and concepy. They are closest thing to Skyline that I have found. The location is a bit off the beaten path bug very clean and hospitable staff.

So good. I just moved here and this is right around the corner from my new job. I ordered a burger and it was delicious! I’ll definitely come back to try the other stuff on the menu.

I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place all these years. I ordered the four way chili in a bowl and when they brought it out, I could smell the Greek spices from the tray. The chili isn’t as thick as most but the flavor is great. You can also get it on a hot dog or over spaghetti. The garlic bread is pretty nifty too. Service was top notch– the waiter was not only attentive but had a great personality. I’m glad I work close to this place because I can add it to my lunch list!

Cincy’s is one of my favorites. The chili comes in two options, meat or vegetarian. There are five different ways to order, take your pick! I enjoy mine with meat based chili, add kidney beans, shredded cheddar and Texas Pete hot sauce. Get an order of garlic toast and you are in business! There is also an extensive sandwich menu which I have been meaning to try but I always get chili instead. Vegetarians have great options here not only with the chili. Cincy’s is one of only a handful of restaurants in Greensboro that offer veggie soy based hot dogs to fulfill vegetarians needs. The regular hot dogs are incredible, I highly recommend them. Make sure to save room for cobbler and ice cream or my favorite, the brownie pie, a wedge of delicious chocolate brownie served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup, over the top! The service is prompt, friendly and always willing to take care of any needs or questions. I love this place!

If your looking for something different look no further. You have to try the Chili on top of spaghetti covered with cheese(or what ever other topping you may like).

This is a solid 4-star location. No ambience to speak of-but then again-it’s a lunch place only. The service was fast and cordial. The 5 way chili was excellent and reminded me of Skyline. If you haven’t had Cincinatti style chili, you need to do some background. This is not like Southern or Southwest Chili. It is something different. I’d go back again any time.

And yet still another local gem that We’d not been to in a while — took care of that culinary oversight today at lunch. This is a small, unpretentious place that has been in the same location downtown since 1987. Begun by a native of Cincinnati, the chili here is true to the Greek origins of the chili and meat sauces that began and flourished in that area(first as a meat sauce for hot dogs) — and that means the chili is meaty, but a little on the thin side, and contains some ingredients common to Greek versions — cinnamon, allspice, worcestershire, and even chocolate — which is the nice little taste you notice at the end of a bite of this chili. They use a little Baker’s Chocolate here to get that ending hook. The meat used is half ground beef, half ground turkey, producing a lean, nearly fat free chili — but none the less flavorful. You can get your chili plain, or over spaghetti noodles — and can add cheese, beans, and onions, if you are so inclined — and you should be. There are 3 different sizes, and depending on the toppings, the cost will range from $ 4.25 to $ 7.00. You can also get the chili on a hotdog, and with a side this goes for $ 4.25 — a tad on the pricey side, but good still. They have some sandwiches and salads if you must, but the chili is the thing here. Great simple, little place with friendly folks serving you — and this is very, very good chili — just like your mother would have made if she was Greek and from Cincinnati.

Cincy’s has everything for a good, downtown Greensboro lunch: fast friendly service, good prices, friendly service, and the food arrives quickly. I have been dining here for more than 20 years, so let me run down some of my menu favorites: Cincinatti-style chili over spaghetti-noodles.(I go for the four-way onions, beans, chili, and cheese). Cajun Chicken sandwich. Just the right level of spiciness with dijon mustard. Get a side of chili! Any of the burgers. I have been a vegetarian for about 10 years, so I have head both the meat– and veggie versions of everything, including the chili. The vegetarian version replaces the meat with lentils, and I know a lot of folks who go for it just because of the unique taste. If you are a vegetarian, it is heaven. If not, then it has a lot less fat than the meat version and does not try to be a faked-out version of the meaty chili: it is just a good recipe in itself and worth a try. The staff are very friendly and I have never had a bad meal even once. If you’ve never had Cincinnati-style chili, you should get down here as fast as you can! Located between the Elm Street Center and Notion Music(or what was once) they serve lunch only, besides catering, but you can get the chili by the quart and take it home with you for freezing.

Contrary to other reviewers, I have eaten here many times and enjoyed it always. The chilli has always provided a good blend of spice flavor. Not a lot of heat, but well-balanced flavor. The sandwiches are mostly standard fare, though I am partial to the pretzel melt. Finally, the daily cobbler offerings are consistently delicious.

As with all new dining experiences, I go in with an open mind and non-stratospheric expectations; Cincy’s unfortunately let me down. I had heard about Cincinnati’s trademark chili oddly served over spaghetti. The peculiarity of this dish instantly got my attention. I ordered my Cincinnati chili 4 Way with Onions which came with chili, thinly shredded blend of white and yellow cheese, raw chopped onions, and spaghetti. Dish itself was room temperature which doesn’t work for me; I like my hot foods hot and my cold foods cold. I’d rather have my food come out steaming piping burn-the-top-of-your-mouth hot than room temp. as I can just let the food cool down. The temp. would have also melted the cheese which would have served itself a better purpose than just being void of flavor and seemingly processed and pre-shredded. The chili was not just lacking in heat(temp. and spiciness) but also in flavor. Either my taste buds decided to take a knee on this play or the 7 spices that they advertise on their website missed the bus as well. Even when subtle, spices give dishes some«pop», some«umph» which this unfortunately lacked — no garlic«snap», no cinnamon no clove«tang», no cayenne no chili powder«heat». I was comforted that they were happy in obliging my ½ meat-chili ½ vegetarian-chili as I had read it made it spicier. Again, it unfortunately didn’t make it any spicier but I was at least able to try their 2 types of chili. No major comments about the service or décor; unless something astounds or offends, I typically concentrate on just the food.

This is a hole in the wall kind of place with not a whole lot of atmosphere, but it feels cozy enough to enjoy with friends. The service was good: funny but not overbearing. I had a spicy chicken salad that was great and the right size for lunch. You know how sometimes you order a salad and you get two heads of lettuce? Not the case here, but I did get more dressing than I needed, fortunately it was on the side. I didn’t have the chili, which is what they are famous for, but my friends did and they loved it.

I was thoroughly disappointed when I went to Cincy’s Downtown. The food was plain and the atmosphere was lacking. It was very plain, just like the food. I have never been back and never plan to return.
