Bernie’s Berries & Produce

We have picked strawberries a number of years at Bernies Berries but we VERY disappointed this year. We were sent down a row that seemed to have already been picked. A number of plants had no berries and the rest had small, misshapen berries. We saw others with baskets of large berries. When you pay $ 11. for berries that you pick yourself, you expect better. Not sure I will return.

Best strawberries in NC. I think I am addicted. EXTREMELY friendly and helpful service. You pick or they pick, it doesn’t matter. While, I was there, a gentleman drove in from NJ. He was having an annual party here and ordered strawberries for 70 people to be picked up the next day. He said, that his Furniture Mart Party was best known for it’s strawberry shortcake and it was not the same without strawberries from Bernie’s Berries.
If you want to pick your own, they have a convenient courtesy cart to drive you to your «picking point». Even with elementary school classes on field trips, there is plenty of room for picking or just picking up.
I have also had their fresh produce. We quit growing cabbage after tasting theirs. I just became a regular. The fresh tender beets were divine also. As the season progresses, you will find yourself making Bernie’s Berries produce stand a regular for your local fresh food shopping.
Only a couple of miles off of I-​85 this patch is conveniently located on Groometown Road, just past Kivet. You can’t miss it.
If your idea is buy local and eat fresh vegetables then stop in and talk to the wonderful people on how they grow not only their berries but their produce.
