High end Italian at very fair prices especially for the area. Everything I’ve had on my many visits has been delicious. Tucked away but still a beautiful location and setting — definitely try to sit in the new deck area. I could sit out there all day. Great ambiance!

Really nice place with excellent food and great service. Nothing is cheap in Greenport but as restaurants go, this one is the best deals around. Much less expensive than the restaurants in town and ambiance is awesome. Overkooks the marina with a choice of eating inside or out. Start with the Portobello Mushroom appetizer or the Mussels in white or red sauce. The Zuppa de Pesce is food of the gods. If you arrive at Greenport by boat, invest in the 10 minute cab ride to the Brewer’s Sterling Marina. Definitely worth it!

I’ve been to Porto Bello 3 times this summer. The food, atmosphere and food is outstanding! The restaurant is located in a Marina overlooking the harbor, and on cold nights they offer alpaca throws to wrap around you as you enjoy the scenery… a gem

After a long day out my wife and I were jonesin’ for some Italian. Greenport is pretty weak in that department so we had to take a chance and start looking in the surrounding area. Porto Bello came up, so off we went. Restaurant is right on the marina so we are outside on a beautiful day. French onion soup was really good-not too salty like so many other places. My Chicken Picata was very good and my wife was pleased w her Chicken Franchaise. The only drawback was the prices were pretty up there. I guess you’ve got to pay extra for any waterside dining. OK, I get it but $ 9.00 for a cannoli or small piece of Tiramisu? That kinda bugged me. Excellent service by Sarah and attentive staff. Would I go back? Yes

Hidden gem on the outskirts of Greenport village. Nestled in a marina offering spectacular water views this Italian beauty serves up excellent food. The clams oreganata were amazing. The swordfish was fresh and moist. The linguini with white clam sauce was a standout. The service was friendly and professional.

Could anything be more relaxing than having a fine meal sitting outdoors on the water at sunset? The experience we had at Porto Bello was wonderful! We were on a week long cruise of Eastern Long Island and docked at a marina next door. The service at this restaurant was superb from the second we pulled up in our dinghy. Extremely attentive, courteous and highly professional. We were a hungry crew and the moment we folded back the cloth napkin in the bread basket the amazing scent of freshly baked warm bread hit us! I could have been perfectly happy cracking open those fantastic warm buns with their soft and delicious centers and dunking away in garlic infused olive oil all night long! The calamari appetizer was perhaps the best I’ve ever had. Light, delicately crunchy and lightly seasoned rings with a deliciously rich, thick and flavorful marinara to dip in. I ordered linguini with red clam sauce for my main course and thoroughly enjoyed(but could not finish) a beautiful bowlful of Long Island middle neck clams over perfect al dente linguini. The red sauce was richly flavored, slightly spicy and was a meal in itself with large bites of plum tomatoes throughout. Oh… and those warm rolls? …a perfect accompaniment to soak up that red sauce! My family split a few warm brownies with vanilla ice cream for dessert. I don’t know… Maybe it was the atmosphere… maybe it was the outdoor fire pit on the restaurant lawn… Maybe it was the Bloody Mary… but folks, this place was unforgettable!

Incredible Italian food. Everyone we have brought here loves it. Order the clams casino. The rigatoni alla vodka is also delicious. Try the stuffed veal chop you won’t regret it. If you can. Get seated outside. the views of the marina while you eat makes this place extra special

4 star meal/service, 6 star atmosphere. We’ve been going for the last 4 seasons. With our new puppy, it’s a bonus how very pet — friendly the staff is. Both the scallops with mango, and pesto salmon on risotto were absolutely delicious. From the generous drinks, hot fresh buns with olive oil and herbed parmasean cheese, through the main course, this place is 2 thumbs up. Oh, one more thing, the locals seated nearby were very friendly!!!

We absolutely love going to Porto Bello… It is definitely the BESTLOCATION on the North Fork… The waterside dining is fantastic… It’s really nice to watch the boats pull in for the night with the sunset as a backdrop… I am lucky enough to know the family who owns Porta bello personally and I must say they run a great fun restaurant. I really enjoy being somewhere where it is professionally run with dedication and care… My favorite item on the menu, the pan seared chicken!!! It is also fun to ask your server what they recommend ??? Everything is delish!!! Thank you to the Team at Porto bello!!!

Went a few weeks ago for dinner and had an excellent time! Ordered the grilled portobello mushroom and the stuffed veal, both of which were delicious. Others at the table raved about the fried calamari and the rack of lamb. Great atmosphere, my only regret is that we couldn’t sit outside because of the weather but we had a good time regardless.

Setting is beautiful and food is superb but the restaurant lacks from organization and management. There is a disconnect between the front and back ends of the house but despite the lack of organization the chef produced very high quality food. The presentation was superb and the view overlooking the yachts tied up went a long way to dispell displeasure.

Really good food in a nice setting. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. During the summer you can expect a crowd. This is a north fork favorite back in it’s original home. Yay! Just to update — back again in 2012, and the food and service are as good as ever. Looking forward to more of their wonderful Italian food, beautiful setting, and excellent service.

We scored last minute reservations here this past Saturday night for 11 people… and that alone is worth a few stars in my book. I didn’t realize how hungry I was from an afternoon of wine tasting until I sat down and devoured the entire basket of bread. After all that bread you’d think I wouldn’t have much room for dinner, but somehow I’m always able to make room… In the mood for some good seafood while on the water my hubby and I split the clam appetizer and then a linguine entrée topped with lots of seafood(calamari, shrimp, mussels). And yes, that seafood linguine has a much fancier name, which is escaping my mind right now. The clams were tasty and the seafood linguine was very good as well– especially loved the mussels on top of it! There were lots of different dishes served to the 11 members of my party and while every portion was a good size I did notice some inconsistencies. One member of our party ordered some sort of pasta entrée(can’t remember the fancy name for his either) that was about 3 times the size of ours. He did manage to make a dent in it, but no one human could eat the entire thing(nope, not even me). My best friend’s eyes were a bit bigger than her stomach when she ordered 2 appetizers for herself: the mussels and the pop-eye pizza. Luckily she had me sitting next to her to help her out with that greasy, yet delicious pizza(like i said… i can always make room). And I washed down all this bread, clams, linguine and pizza with a bottle of reisling. The other members of my table complained the service was slow, but I think they did a pretty good job with a table of 11 people. They weren’t the most accommodating when we asked them to split the bill among 6 credit cards, but then again that’s usually a big nightmare for most restaurants. Came out to about $ 50/person, which seems fair for all the food/drinks we had… I probably wouldn’t go running back, but it definitely hit the spot this past Saturday evening…
