«For the Love of Sport» is how to best describe Bicycles Unlimited and Bob, the owner. Our family is active, we have been to every local sports shop and then some. We simply can not afford to pay outrageous prices for equipment with our kids growing fast. Our boys love to play every sport, bike, ski(now racing), etc. We truly have given every shop in the area equal opportunity to sell us equipment that we need, not just to make a sale. One shop tried to charge me $ 40 for a $ 2 bolt. We order equipment online to save sometimes, but I often get burned buying gear that is just not needed. The staff at Bicycles Unlimited has guided me for 10 years off and on because we live an hour away. They consistently prevent me from going overboard and spending money that we just do not have to blow on the newest shiniest gear. A few years back, we lost everything to a fire. Bob took our bikes(not all his brand), removed all the melted/damaged components, seats, soaked the rusted metal parts, scrubbed the frames and put them back together for no profit. I wanted to buy a new bike, but Bob just said,” Nonsense, you’ll get another 10 years out of this bike”! He has leant myself and many others gear, winter gear, just to get started riding or skiing. He found me some used race skis to get back into it. I’m not a regular, but years back I had gone on a few rides with Bob and some regulars. They are not clicky and are very encouraging to new people to have fun. I moved away shortly thereafter, but I watched Bob ride behind us weak riders, stop and help us fix flats,(With his own gear! No charge!) I was moved by his ethics to life and how he loves riding and skiing so much that he starts from the ground up. When I started having children I wanted them to meet Bob. To grow up with that same passions and respect for whatever they may enjoy! We continually visit from time to time, though we are not big spenders, we are always greeted like family!(A real family, a simple hello, brief chat and then back to work). If you’re looking for a fake, over attentive sales person with too much time on their hands, trying to get in your wallet, go to another shop, spend lots of money to have someone make you feel special. Bicycles Unlimited, a Real shop for Real people!

Rude, rude, rude. In dropping off my new bike to have the assembly completed, the(male) owner actually YELLED at me as I was unloading my bike from the back of my truck, because he wanted me to bring it around back. I could have just carried it back there, but because he thought that it would be easier for me to drive the entire truck around back(around 50 feet away), he yelled at me until I put it down, because I was affronted by his onslaught. Don’t let the«fragile female» carry the bike 50 feet, just yell at her a bit and tell her what to do, for her own good. Nice ethics! Twice I have spoken the to women(his wife?) who works there, on the phone. She hasn’t even bothered treating me with courtesy or respect. Further, I had two bikes in for repair, she called me when one was done, but had no idea that there was even a second bike present. After hassling me about it, she followed up the realization with, «Oh. I’ll call you back when they are both ready,» said in a flat tone. There will be no return business from me here. I already deeply regret bringing my business there. ***Quick update: In a search all over town for a specific part for my bike, I returned. The man was nicer and helpful this time, but the woman was a complete and unwelcoming Nazi. Before I had stepped very far into the store, she cut me off asking in unfriendly tones for me to state my business there(I am paraphrasing, but she wasn’t being friendly or polite.) I followed her into the shop for the part. When I told the man what I wanted, he wandered away. Thinking that he wanted me to follow, so that he could show me where to find the part, I followed. The lady jumped in my way, getting in my face, and rudely said, «Oh no. You wait here.» SERIOUSLY!!! Do they not like repeat business in here? I felt so unwelcome that I didn’t even feel comfortable enough to shop around for cycling gear and accessories and I LOVETOSHOP! This place completely blew it with me! TWICE!

I was recently in Greenfield visiting friends and, being an avid road rider, I thought I’d rent a bike and tour this beautiful area. Turns out no one in town rents decent road bikes. I went to this shop at my friend’s recommendation. I was greeted by the owner, Bob Perry, who I later learned is a local legend and former competitive racer. At first, Bob said he no longer did rentals, but after talking shop for a while and realizing I was not in the market for a cruiser, he told me to come back the next day and he’d fix me up. And so he did! I REALLY needed to get a ride in so I was very grateful he bent the rules to help me out. Bob has a really well stocked shop and provides repair service. He leads rides around the area for all levels of riders. And in the winter his shop becomes a ski shop. I’ll be coming back to Greenfield every year or two and I’ll definitely be going back to this shop. Highly recommended!
