Aldi is a great smaller store that carries a good variety of food items that most people use on a daily basis. Most of their items are generic and not name brand, although they have been getting in more name brands lately. Their prices are low, they carry cold and frozen foods, canned foods, bread, boxed items, soda pops, and good selection of fresh cut meats such as pork chops and chicken breast. This is a great place to get low cost hot dogs if feeding a large group of kids. Aldi now accepts credit cards, cash, and EBT(food stamp) cards. Find empty boxes around the store and use them to put your own groceries in, so you don’t have to buy any paper bags for about 3 cents each. You bag /box your own items here. You have to insert a quarter into the shopping cart before you can unchain it from the others and use it. Then upon returning the cart to it’s rightful location, you will get your 25 cents back. This is how they keep the cost low, they do not need anyone to collect carts from the parking lot, and do not have any grocery baggers to help you.

I kinda like Aldi. The food quality seems to have really improved since I was a kid, and the prices are low. If you use a credit card they make you put in a PIN number, which is annoying, since none of mine have a PIN. So bring cash.
