This is local, when local wasn’t so well jargonny. The tomatoes and peppers come from down the road, as im sure other veg does. The proprietress sells beautifully jarred produce, including habeneros!!! Oh yes, the food: yum! Chicken and dumplings… Chicken and slicks, whatever its called in your neck of the woods, sweet lips is yum! Lots of sides to choose from including some of the best fried green tomatoes ever:) Very pleasant conversation, nice peope:)

We had two pulled pork plates. Barbecue was sweet. I substituted veggies for potato with no problem. Great food and friendly staff. We got a peanut butter sticky to go. Total bill, including tip, was $ 24.

This place was awesome! Food was great and so was the service. I had the pulled pork plate and my husband had the open face roast beef and mashed potato plate. Will be back when up this way again.

We were a little worried when she told us the BBQ wouldn’t be ready for a while — but the grilled cheese/vegetable soup and the chicken livers special were very good. Love to experience nice, small town restaurants! Friendly and accommodating!

WOW. One word describes this place. WOW. Now I’ve had some bbq in my time. This. Place. ROCKS. As you are driving, do not hesitate. I repeat, do not hesitate to stop. The service is excellent, the food is excellent, the cornbread is dry, and the dessert is excellent. And by dessert I mean the hot fudge cake. Never seen anything like it but I hope I do in the future. My condolences to those who pass up the opportunity of having some sweet lips bbq.

As a business traveler, mealtime can be boring. While this place is a simple country diner, the food and service were excellent. I had a cheeseburger and fries and both were very good. I’ll be sure to eat here next time I’m in the area.

Awesome, awesome place! Little roadside diner with the most amazing food and service. The people working there go ABOVE and BEYOND. I mean this is the service you dream of! Tater tots are delish! Pulled pork is where it’s at! Pancakes and bacon are so good! If you’re passing through or in the area if is worth the stop!

So glad we found this place on our drive cross country! It has the best pulled pork I’ve ever had and also the best pancakes somehow. Tatertots were also great(I’d skip the biscuits though). I’ve been twice now(two different cross country trips) and both times were excellent. It’s also run by the NICEST people you’ll ever meet — coffee and tea refreshed regularly, small talk and directions, just the best. If you’re passing through you must go!

This place is amazing. Let me paint you a picture! I drove from Connecticut to Los Angeles to move out there. On the ride I took a small detour to a little hole in the wall that boasted BBQ and«pigging out» It just so happened to be the best pulled pork sandwich I’d ever had. Perfectly grilled bun, coleslaw piled high and a perfect pork. That was in 2010. Three years later, I made my family go on our trip to Nashville. In the last three years I’ve lived in one of the best good places in the world, and my tastes have changes, but this place was better than ever. It’s small, family owned, everyone will share a smile or a story. It makes you feel like you’re having a real hometown experience while getting a great meal at ABSURD prices. 3.50 for a pulled pork sandwich? Come on! Anyway, pleas go. It’s that good. And it needs to stay in business. We’d lose a piece of America if we lost sweet lips diner.
