Great China Buffet

I am pretty stingy with stars. this is clean, reasonably priced and offers tasty dishes on a buffet. Friends complain because the menu seldom varies but I find that the norm when eating out. this is my choice for quick, yummy and clean.

For your typical Chinese Buffet, it’ ranks pretty high. VERY clean. Food was tasty and the right temperature. Drink included in price. 4 of us ate for $ 30 including tax and tip. Food wasn’t overly sauced and gloppy like some Chinese food can be.

This is hands down the best China Buffet I’ve been to. If I went out to eat while I was at DePauw, it was likely that I ended up at this place. They also offer (or offered?) a student discount. It’s been around a year and a half since I’ve eaten here, but I’ve been here dozens of times. I recall reading an article in The DePauw about Greencastle restaurants’ health violations. This place had a few, but no way was that going to deter me from dining here.
The iced tea is disappointing. It is clearly labeled as such, but since it is located between two hot beverage dispensers, it was hot tea instead. It takes quite a bit of ice to cool it down. Also, I was always perturbed by the bad artwork of disproportionate cats.
My favorites: pepper chicken (back when I still ate meat), pepper shrimp, seafood mayonnaise, noodles, fried rice… The salmon is very good — one of my dad’s favorites. I will probably be back here if I ever visit Greencastle again.
