Willy K’s

I went to Willy K’s for the first time, back during the Winter. I’ve been back a few times, all for happy hour. It’s close enough for me to stop in and have a drink or 2 and grab a bite. I was sold from my first visit… only because I won a game of BINGO! The thrill of winning is actually better than the prize. First prize — a $ 10.00 drink ticket, 2^nd place — a $ 5.00 drink ticket. Now, winning $ 5.00 for a drink is not bad at all. The fact that most mixed drinks are higher than $ 5 and they did not let you put the winning 5 towards a higher priced drink was the down side. Overall, drinks not the greatest — I’ve tried a few and now end up just going with wine or beer. I’ve only done appetizer foods which were good. The chicken quesadilla is really good, as are the mozzarella sticks. I tried some wings once — left a lot to be desired. Other items such as salad and muscles looked good but I have not personally tried them. All staff have been friendly and timely enough on my several visits, no complaints there. I usually sit in the bar area. There are 2 adjoining sections that have tables, that I’ve seen folks sit in. One of these areas has an area/​space which I guess is the dance floor. I think there was a DJ one evening. Overall, a nice little drop in place if you’re in the area.

After reading so many other mediocre reviews I figured since there were not many reviews on the quality of the food, I would take my chances since we were staying in the hotel and could wait for slower service. We ordered steamed shrimp that was so overcooked (maybe even steamed/​microwaved a second time to reheat them) that the shells were very difficult to peel. Next I ordered a veggie wrap and asked for ranch on the side. Not only was there ranch on the side but the wrap was swimming in it too– maybe just a miscommunication but the wrap itself tasted stale. Not to mention there was a server wearing a formerly clear latex glove as he served food. He had clearly been wearing the same one for at least an hour (the entire time we were waiting for a server). Not too impressed.

Lauren M clearly has some type of mental issues because it’s just a bar, not that serious. For the area, the drinks are reasonably priced and the wings are pretty good. Service is slow but for the price just deal with it. Definitely laid back and not the type of spot for people like Lauren M with a stick up their a$$. Good mix of music. Blonde bartender is chill.

This hidden seed on the marbled rye of the BWP is a great place for secret rendezvous. Several pool tables on the upper level peer down upon the fully stocked bar and the dance floor. Homey feel and well rounded menu complete this diamond in the rough.

I went here for a party. it was crowded. it was urban. it was like metro on steroids. Couldn’t get to the bar quick. Got to my car quicker. If you need a drink… probably easier to bring your own and serve it at the tables. I did get some appetizers, they were good. I think my waitress was a zombie. Nothing else to see here.

Food was Great Chef Kenny Kudos to you… our server terrible forgot to put in some our order than when we got it it was wrong… then we placed a napkin over our drinks, which is code for don’t touch still drinking… as we went outside to smoke the server chased us down and said pay your bill ummmm excuse me but I’m not walking out on my bill that’s why my purse is at the table and cell phone and i covered my drink will not return here first and last time thanks for nothing… 2 stars only because the food was good

Our group of fourteen went there for the breakfast buffet. It was delicious and quick. Our waitress, Jean, was wonderful and a delight to be around. She made the meal even more enjoyable.

Food here is always great. Service is definitely hit or miss. Unfortunately the bartender was an Ass. You’re busy, but not that busy. It’s really rude to throw up your fingers at a customer to tell them to hold on, then not even come back to them. Never order from Jason. The female bartender was way nicer and cordial.

Been going to Willy K’s on and off for a few years now. Service is always hit or miss but the wings are always good. Buffalo and Chesapeake are my favorite. Tip, ask for extra Old Bay as they never put on enough for me.
My last visit was on ⁷⁄₂₉. I met friends for happy hour. When I arrived at the bar, I asked the bartender if there were any specials and she replied no. Luckily I waited on my friend and we grabbed a table. Joshua, our server, was great. He told us all the specials that they were offering, brought water with our drinks without being asked and was very attentive and informative. Also, they had bingo. First prize is a drink for $ 10 or less and second prize is a drink for $ 5 or less. Three out of the five people in my party won so that made our night even better.
My only complaint is that they automatically add 18% gratuity when entertainment is provided. I didn’t think that bingo was considered entertainment. So I accidentally paid an additional 20% gratuity on top of the 18%. But since the service was great, I am not too mad. I will just review my bill a little closer next time.

Music good, but food is average. Low key place, bartenders act too busy. Shabby looking. But connected to hotel… so lol

I met here for a mid day lunch, and I have to say I was pleased. Considering the restaurant is inside the Holiday INN, it was quaint and quiet. Two of my favorites for a lunch. I decided to dine outside, and it was even better. Although the pool had not been filled (early April), the food was fairly great and the service was the best. Will I eat here again? Yes. The menu offered many options and the dim lights, high bar, friendly service gave the place something special. I felt a little sexy!!! Weird.

This is the holiday inn restaurant and I ate here for breakfast. The servers were all very attentive, the fruit on the buffet was fresh, and the coffee was plentiful. What else do you need? Great option for breakfast without having to go to far.

I’ve been several times and had an enjoyable time… tonight we were ignored in more ways then one! How many times do I have to ask for my check?!? Lucky I didn’t walk out!!!

How was Willy K’s?
The food and drinks were a hit, on Friday night. I had never been there before but went for a friend’s party. The DJ was good and we partied peacefully.
However, brace yourself, there was a bartender that was beyond rude and surprised that I was time enough for her. The DJ calls last call for the bar so my friends and I went over. A young man and another young woman. This bartender (middle aged, blonde, Caucasian woman) served the guy next to me a beer and then walked away. When she came back around I told her we wanted to order drinks for last call. She told me the bar was closed. I said to her, «But the DJ just called last call and we came over plus you just served this guy a beer.» He was still standing there drinking his brew. She repeated herself so I sat back. The young man that was with us then leaned in and what do you know she started making our drinks.
I sat back and when she brought our drinks over he paid our tab, cash. He went to tip her by putting $ 10 on the bar but I put my hand on it and slid it back. She then turned to me and said, «Why did you do that?» I said, «Because you refused us service for no reason. You don’t get a tip.» She frowned, not a good idea because she’s not aging well, then said «F$ck you B$tch!» I flipped her the bird and said, «No b$tch you just got f$cked.»
She scrambled around to a guy, who then scrambled to the police officer on duty. I went over by my belongings and put them on my arm and waited for the crew to reach me. I asked the police officer was she putting me out, she responded yes. I said, «Ok do you want to hear my side?» She said, «No.» I looked at the guy who was sent to do the dirty work and said, «Do you want to hear my side of the story?» He said, «No.» My friend called over the waiter who had served us peacefully for the past 4 and a half hours, and finally someone wanted to hear my side of the story. They all kind of snickered and then I was told I didn’t have to leave and to please not aggravate her (the blonde) because she was management. No, problem there were only 30 minutes left in the party and the bar was closed, I could handle that.
Even after the party we heard from other friends that said she charged them for drinks took their money and then took her time coming back to them to the point where they had to go get her and remind her they had paid! 3 other people!
So if you don’t mind paying to be called a b$tch on your Friday night out, visit with the blonde.
If you think it’s cool for management in food service (use the word service loosely here) to call you a b$tch, this is your place.
Finally, if you’re looking to see how 10 bucks can make or break a person, try ordering during last call with the blonde but be prepared to not be heard as a paying customer and grab your stuff before you are thrown out by a police officer.
If you want to see someone who thinks they are a demi God of a hotel bar, this is your place and she is your gal!
I’m not into that, so I’ll probably never go back and advise people to keep drinking at Friday’s where they actually train folks, have a hierarchy, and some good looking staff too!

I had the crab cake sandwich, it was great. My sister had the grilled chicken sandwich which she said had no flavor. The cups weren’t the cleanest.

It was very convenient because it was in the holiday inn.

Firstly, I’m kind of impressed that the «hotel bar» at the Holiday Inn in Greenbelt wasn’t an Applebee’s, or something akin to one. Oh wait! It totally is, except w/​a dance floor.
If you’ve ever been to a CAN tournament, you’ve been here. It’s your basic restaurant. Lots of different seating areas, on different levels, and a bar off to one side.
Their beer selection was generic, but we expected that. Service at the bar was ok, but it didn’t look like they had scheduled enough staff to cover just how many people were there. They looked like they were drowning.
My husband tried on of their personal pizzas, he enjoyed it. I had the chicken fingers and fries. Undercooked w/​too much batter. The fries were good though.
Since this is the unofficial official after spot for the tournament I have no doubt we’ll be back. But man I hope they schedule more bartenders for that weekend.

Food is hit and miss. The burger wasn’t too good, the chicken fingers were alright, and their fries were pretty good.
Prices are on par with other hotel restaurants.
Their staff is really nice; fast and courteous.

i came as a friend was having a surprise karaōke party. its a bar in a hotel. didn’t expect much, a nd don’t. but the size of the food portions and the quality of the drinks is why folks keep coming. i had some bourbon wings and they were awesome. long my friend had fun that all that mattered and she did!

Not bad. Surprisingly decent. I’m definitely going back in the weeks ahead since I have business in the area. Drink prices are good, and the food was tasty. I would have given it 4 stars if my crab cakes didn’t come out burnt. They were good too, but I couldn’t get past the burnt bottom. Just the fact that they tried to serve them to me took a star away. When I sent them back, the manager came out and explained that they had a broken oven and that they couldn’t replace them. I ended up ordering the filet mignon. It was cooked perfectly… medium. I also ordered the mixed vegetables. I thought that the vegetables would be a bust by the looks of them, but they were good. Playing Bingo at the bar was fun too.
I shall return… and maybe the rating will go up.

Good place to go for after work drinks with co-​workers. Cheap, nice outside bar and seating. Pool, DJ and food served in the summer/​spring. Food is crappy. Just order fries, salad or something from the fresh grill.
Great happy hour prices. Relaxed, mixed crowd and music. TV’s with sports on them.
Bottom Line: Don’t expect much and you won’t be disappointed.
