Started eating here 1980’s. Pizza was good, loved the veggie boat. Went recently, pizza not flavorful, and slices seem smaller. Veggie boat filling definitely less than before. Had hard time finding the eggplant. Way overpriced. Very disappointing.

I too first DINED at 3 Bros as a kid in the 1970s when My Dad, My brother and I went to see Star Wars… and it is the best pizza in the world in my opinion. THE other pizza that starts with an «L» is just granny-style pizza that I can make myself at home and tastes OK but THREEBROTHERS is the real thing and something very special. I spent many weekends as a teenager eating Pizza there with friends(Mary Lefimil, Julie Park, Ellen Rosenzweig you know who you are!) Summertime Dollar movies(do they have those anymore?)… were always followed by a piece of Three Brothers Pizza. After taking the SAT in 1988 where did I go? My fave… Three Brothers. High school graduation party… Three Brothers. I only buy a pie once a year now, on my birthday and have to have it made by Three Brothers.(Greenbelt is the best location, but Bladensburg is closer so that’s usually where I go now). Their Lasagne and Vegetarian Boats are superb.

I had my first 3Bros pizza back in the mid 70s when I was just a kid and it immediately became my favorite treat. Through high school and into college I would regularly come back to the Beltway Plaza location for the best pizza in the Washington DC area. Over the years I made the 75 mile trip on many special occasions, such as birthdays and getting together with old friends. On everyone of those days, I was so excited and truly counted down the minutes to get 3Bros pizza. Now about 40 years later, Three Brothers has decided to take their best item off the menu: Sicilian pizza. I have been a loyal customer since the weekend they opened In Greenbelt — probably averaging a whole Sicilian pie once per week. That comes out to over 2,000 pies and countless other slices. Unfortunately I no longer will go to 3 Brothers. I understand Sicilian pizza was taken off the menu due to the lack of demand. But that decision has it’s consequences and they have now lost a loyal 40-year customer. So disappointed :-(

Staff is always courteous and the food is off the chain. Wide variety of wings. Do not forget to add dipping sauces and seasoning to your order.

Ordered the eggplant rollatini, got back to work, started eating eat it to find that the spinach inside contained all of the long stems nothing was cut up, which made this meal terrible. It was hard to cut and chew, very stringy. I called and spoke to the manager Vincent, who was rude to me on the phone, non-empathetic and did not care that his customer disliked the meal. He refused to comp me anything but one slice of pizza for a $ 13 meal. The salad was wilted also. Needless to say their are no Italians cooking or working at the Greenbelt Three Brothers; otherwise, the food would have been perfect and so would have been the customer service. They consider a sub roll as ITALIAN Garlic Bread. We are not in Kansas anymore Todo!

This is my #1 type of pizza I crave. I’ve been coming here for over 35 years. Now that the mall is pretty much trash, I’ll only order carryout, but I still can’t get enough of this pizza. I’ve had their pizza at other locations and it doesn’t taste the same as this one. I hope the pizza retains it’s integrity since learning one of the original owners passed away. But I’ll drive from northern Virginia to greenbelt for this pizza.

For the price Three Brothers is a Greenbelt institution. Living in the area my whole life I remember when this location first open in the 70s. To me the pizza was always ok. But what I would come back for over and over again was the calzones. They are big and stuffed filled with meat and cheese. It is not gourmet food by any means, but a very decent place to grab a good fast hot meal. And I am sorry to say one of the brothers Pete just recently passed away. He was very generous to the local Community and a hard worker behind the counter everyday serving customers.

The food is really very good – nothing too complex or out of the ordinary, but always fresh ingredients and cooked properly. Easily, easily better than anything served at any of the Mama Lucia locations and everything is literally half the price. My only complaint, which is surprising for an Italian restaurant, is that the pizza is really awful. The Sicilian is essentially an inch-thick piece of toast with toppings, but always tastes more like a dog biscuit than pizza because of the terribly dry crust. The Neopolitan pizza is ALWAYS incredibly greasy, irrespective of what variety you order. It, too, has virtually no flavor. You would think that for an Italian place a good pizza would be a no-brainer, but not here.

****(5⁄5) IMPRESSION **** I grew up eating at this place, Everytime I’ve visited this location or the sister locations — the pizza’s have always been delicious! ****(5⁄5) AMBIANCE **** Reminds me of the old style Italian Pizza Restaurants. This was one(I believe) was the original location. They opened other branches(including Rockville). But, the Rockville location was closed last time I tried to go there a few years ago. I’m delighted to hear that this is still around and will be coming back here again.(Being in CA now — it’s tough to get a good slice of pizza)

The ORIGINAL Three Brothers. This is where it began. Always liked the subs, etc. Even after they expanded, they kept the quality great! I have to say, I’ve been in many Three Brothers… To me, they’re all very good. I would recommend.

From the main drag of the downscale Beltway Plaza mall, all you see is a slice counter and a restaurant with a standard Italian-American menu at moderate prices. But locals know that there is a bar in the back with beer on draft and in iced bottles, a bit of wine, and a raw bar. I started with steamed mussels, $ 6.99 for a dozen and a half. The bivalves were fresh, cooked just through, sweet, tender and juicy. The thing was that there was no additional flavor from a braising broth, just lemon to squeeze and a ramekin of melted butter. That might actually be a good thing, as the mussels had no flaws to hide, but not what most people would expect. My appetite whetted, I went on to fried oysters and french fries, also $ 6.99. A very generous potion for the price, about 10 medium oysters, crisp on the outside and just right on the inside, The fries probably started out commercial given their crinkle cut and uniform size, but(anyone seeing a pattern here?) were crisp on the outside and almost creamy on the inside. Now if you stop by and Brian is working that day you are in luck. He gave me a sample of his personal recipe crab cake. I’m petty sure by that time he knew he was being Unilocaled, but those who have read my reviews know I call it like I taste it. And being a Maryland boy, my bar for crab cakes is very high. It was a true shore style mix, no discernible filler, all backfin, and(all together now) crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. In other words, as good as it can get without being close enough to the dock to get unpasteurized crab(Waterman’s in OC). Brian told me he makes up only one batch per day and when they’re gone they’re gone. Clams and oysters are live on ice(see photo) and can be ordered raw or steamed. Shrimp and crab leg are also available. So here’s another hidden gem, a fine place to stop by when you want a taste of the Bay without the long drive and crowds. There’s plenty of room and the regulars won’t mind a bit.

Three Brothers is an Italian sit down restaurant with counter service. They are known for their pizza and cuisine, but hidden in the back is the real reason to visit. If you like a raw bar, oysters, clams, steamed shrimp, crab legs, and blue crabs(in season) you will like Three Brothers. And the beer is iced, so it is really COLD. The Bartenders in the back have been there for years and built up quite a local following. It is a friendly, neighborhood eatery with a raw bar. Luckily I live close by and can enjoy it often. So should you.

Mainly about the bar. Tucked the back of Beltway Plaza(where there is sheltered parking) is the original Three Brothers Restaurant & Catering. OK, as I have written in the past, Beltway Plaza is not a prepossessing location at all. So if looking you must have a certain refined ambience at all times … why the devil are you in Beltsville? Back to the landscapes of Rockville with you. Now, we regularly get carry out pizza or stop by for a slice when we’re in the area at lunch time. But I wanted to put in a word for their bar. It is a nice, no frills bar that has never been more than office conversation loud when we have gone. There’s a few TV’s showing sports, if that’s your thing, but they are on mute. There is a decent selection of beers and you can order food from the regular menu or the bar’s seafood menu. Oysters, gimme! The bartenders have been there for ages and actually chat with the patrons. Zounds! And no one has bolted a bunch of fake crab pots the insides of a combine harvester to the walls. The only downside is the place closes earlish, I think 9 pm. But still definitely a place to check if you want a quiet place for a meal and a drink.

Whats up with the bad reviews… I’ve visited this location which of course was the first, literally 200 times in it’s history and never once had a bad meal. They’ve expanded the menu over time but I haven’t been able to pass up on the Calzones(either Spinach or Pepperoni), the Meatball Sub, and of course the Pizza. I prefer the Neapolitan but the Sicilian is very good as well. Used to work for a guy who ordered their Tuna Sub at least 3 times a week. Look, this place is so good there are weasels in another state who have stolen their name, and to some extent their menu. If imitation is the greatest form of flattery, then where does a place stand that has been straight up ripped off? Yay! I’m a fan.

I can only say that this location(Beltway Plaza) has the worst food and worst ambiance for a sit down, even for a mall setting. I have eaten at the BP location off and on for the last 8 yrs.– HOPING for better food, yet never an improvement. My friends catered from that location two months ago — still no improvement. At any time, your pasta will be MUSHY, the sauce is run-of-the-mill, salads dripping in water and tasteless, cheese doesn’t even look like the real thing so my guess it that it might be imitation«cheese», the lasagna and other classics on the menu are just melded pieces of sauce and noodles-but you cannot discern the taste from one dish to the other. The cheese and the cheese+pepperoni pizza is a bump up from the rest of the menu but not memorable enough to earn a better rating. You feel hungry after you eat there, because their products are not made from quality foodstuffs. Even decent corner bistro’s have better fare. Sad that this place is not serving decent food to those of us who know what REALFOOD tastes like, yet charging us for what we think is good cheese, dough, pasta and salad. I will never go back there again. It is a waste of time and money.

FOODPOISONING! Went in with my family for a late lunch on Wednesday, December 19th, 2012 and ordered a couple slices of pizza and a turkey sub. My six yr old ate the pizza and me and my husband shared the sub. Seemed fine until we went home and later that night, my husband was sick in the bathroom. Next morning, I was sick. The only thing we had eaten was the sub. Never going there again. I’m so disappointed. This use to be my go-to place inside the mall. So convenient. But not worth it now.

This Three Brothers has been around a long time and it’s one of the nicer ones. Lots of table space and a bar. I don’t think it sells the hard stuff but beer and wine, for sure. The downside is that it’s in a mall that is getting a little run down. Still the pizza is good and the subs are tasty. It’s just food and beverages. There are a couple of other Three Brothers locations that have a huge dessert selection and the one in Riverdale has an Italian market in it. Nice place. Iffy mall.

Located in Beltway Plaza, Three Brothers offers a variety of Italian dishes. I came here during lunch time, and there was a decent crowd in there. It looks like a nice little hang out spot. However, my eating experience didn’t go well. I called in my order for a calzone to pick it up. This was probably the worst calzone ever. There was barely any meat inside, and the worst part? the cheese inside it was RAW. You know that cheesy goodness you’re suppose to get when break off a piece? well the cheese in this calzone just fell on the plate. That’s just unacceptable. Needless to say, I was still hungry and felt like I was ripped off. First impressions are important, and even though in most scenarios I’m willing to give a place a second chance, it won’t be the case here. Looking back, I kind of wish I had taken it back and showed them the crap they were selling, or at least taken a picture of it. But I had to get back to work. I doubt I’ll be back here again.

The original location for Three Brothers Pizza. Haven’t been here in years but I have fond memories of the pizza here — great NY style pizza with a garlicky tomato sauce. YUM. When I’m back in town I will head to either this location or the Beltsville/Laurel location for a couple slices. And yes, we all know Beltway Plaza sucks. It’s been this way for at least 20 years. Get over it.
