Love, love Gwenn! The most knowledgeable, professional esthetician ever worked with. Think some reviewers are overly harsh on this one woman ‘show’ who’s schedule might run off as she is doing her best for her client at the time. Loyal and truly invested to her clients, she is her best at developing long term client relationships.

Had the best experience here. Not sure why the reviews don’t reflect. Fast scheduling and painless experience! A combination of hard and soft wax were used in «hard to reach» places that was far better than my sugaring experience. I’d schedule again

Great service, and the owner is much more experienced than any other esthetician around!

I decided to try the new«sugaring» method for hair removal at this salon which I found on the internet. MISTAKE! The salon was not a very welcoming place. It was old in appearance and I was not greeted when I walked up the steps. Mary Ann was my aesthetician. She was not one for conversation. She didn’t explain the method of hair removal, just told me to lay on the table. I asked her if the hair under my arms was long enough for«sugaring». She looked but did not say a word. Let me say that the hair must NOT have been long enough because she had to apply the wax at least 20 times per underarm, push it deep into my pit and pull it off. PAINFUL!!! After finishing, she left the room without a word. When I look under my right arm I realized that I would still have to shave when I got home because the sugaring did not remove enough hair from that pit. I certainly was not going to ask her to torture me any further. I will NEVER get«sugared» again and I certainly will not go back to Painful Touch Spa for any service!

I was enthusiastic when this place first opened in my neighborhood and was hoping to get all of my beauty treatments done there. I tried them for a facial and a massage and was disappointed both times. They did not have a steam machine for the facial, so there was no point in going to them for a «deep cleaning». I go for professional facials because I was not blessed with good skin. I have adult acne and am always struggling with it and doing my best to keep it under control. Also, facials, when done properly, are a relaxing experience that make me feel better about myself. The woman who gave me the treatment here began by making rude, insensitive comments about how awful my skin was. It would have been okay if she were just factually describing what she saw to let me know, but she was very unprofessional and insulting. The massage therapist drank a cold can of coke while she was massaging me. I kept complaining about her cold hands. I finally looked up and caught her with the can in her hand. I couldn’t believe it! No common sense! Pleasant touch? Are they kidding? Before one of the appointments, I had to wait half an hour because they were running behind. What made the wait intolerable was the self-identified owner of the place talking my ear off about some ridiculous method she had for curing allergies which was nothing but quackery. I made it clear that I wasn’t interested, but she wouldn’t shut up. I would have been fine left alone to have a little quiet time reading, and I resented being a captive audience. Please, lady, don’t feel as though you have to entertain us! I know this review is harsh, but I am being honest about the bad experiences I had at this salon. I have not given them another chance. If they have improved, I would love to hear about it. It would be so nice to be able to get good service nearby, and I would be willing to pay top dollar for it.

I have to take one star for the pain, but I have had the best deforestation services ever. The sugaring techniques is better because no heat. Think human taffy pull. I still down Tylenol before though. Its a little pricey but I would charge alot to explore the land down under too. The esthetician is very enthusiastic, professional and unfazed by anatomy. If you saw Deuce Bigelow, yup she can go there too. Move over Holly…

So I went for a massage(I get massages pretty often) — thinking I would try somewhere close to where I lived at the time. The people were nice but they kept me waiting. The price was to high, the area was cluttered with boxes and looked unkempt. The massage was so painful I was sore for 2 days after.

I’d love to say that this is a great place to go when you have a big night ahead, and you want to «clean yourself up» with a Brazilian wax. The reason I’d like to say this is because they use the sugaring method of hair removal which is supposed to stick to the hair, not the skin, and as a result be less painful. The reason I can’t say this is because after making an appointment a week in advance of one of those big nights I mentioned, I showed up, and waited, and waited to get what I’d come for, but it never happened. The women at the desk were very friendly, offering me tea, and complimenting me on my hair color, but tea and compliments weren’t enough to convince me not to walk out after finding out that the reason I’d been sitting there for a half hour was because no one bothered to tell the waxer that I was there, and the waxer never bothered to come to the waiting room to grab me. It wasn’t until I said that I was leaving that they realized their mistake, and by then I knew this wasn’t the place for me. Who knows how long I would have ended up sitting there if I hadn’t got up and left? One positive thing I can say about Pleasant Touch, it helped me learn something about myself. If I’m going to strip down, and have hot wax/sugar spread around my nether regions, I demand professionalism!
