Mike’s Roadside Cafe

Got the Italian Sausage Sandwich and the Veggie Sandwich. Both were excellent! Tastes like good olé homemade Italian food that your Mom would make. Unless your Mom made everything out of the box like my mother did. Anyway, Mike is really sweet too. Comes out of the truck to talk to his customers. This food truck is a keeper for sure.

I had experienced Mike’s at The Shelter’s Food Tuck Round Up. I cannot recall everything he had on his menu, but I do recall he had Philly Cheese steaks and a wonderful Italian sausage sandwich. He specializes in Italian cuisine. He cooks the sausage in a light, fresh tomato sauce. He must had simmered it for quite a while because the flavors really melded together nicely. He also cooked the onions, red pepper, yellow pepper, and orange pepper in the sauce as well. The cheese was nice and melty! The bread held the sandwich together perfectly! Plus, we got the last one of the night. I am picturing he had a loving Italian Nonna who may have taught him well. A big bonus was that he had a table set up in front of his truck, with FREE fruit (melon) and FREE Doritos!!! He also took the time to come out of the truck and chat with us and told us to follow him on facebook. «Sei come il prezzemolo.» Literally, that means you are like parsley… But what it really means is you pop up everywhere… and I hereby declare my love of food trucks and Mike’s Roadside Café and I hope his truck and many more pop up everywhere!
