On my previous visit to this store a couple years ago, I was dazzled by the merchandise — it seemed like it had better stuff than dollar stores where I live in California. On my recent visit, I noticed that various items cost $ 1, $ 2, $ 5, and even $ 12. «Dollar» seems like a misnomer, unless they mean«Rounded to the Nearest Dollar» or «Dollar and Up.» Just don’t go in with any illusions of finding things for only $ 1. In any case, I found some inexpensive goodies here for a dollar or so. I’d forgotten to pack goggles, so we got some cheap swim goggles in kid and adult sizes. My mother-in-law bought a badminton set for Ichabod. Wow, 4-year-olds really lack hand-eye coordination, and badminton is good practice. Whether you’re looking for cleaning supplies, toiletries, diapers, toys, clothing, or food, Family Dollar has a wide variety for a dollar or more. The store has a big parking lot and some sad looking palm trees nearby that froze during the cold winter. It’s nice to have a dollar-ish store in the neighborhood, so Family Dollar is A-OK by me.
