Spinach in an Acai Smoothie — how cool!!! Great place to find, downtown on Broadway. Friendly folks work here to!

Wanted a quick coffee and stopped in with my husband and 1 year old son. My husband said hello to the owner/manager who did not return the greeting. Upon reaching the counter and asking if they had coffee or coffee drinks, I was told that they were not a Starbucks, and I should try reading the menu, and oh by the way they were closing soon so hurry up. Needless to say we did not patronize their business and will never do so.

An oasis in a sea of brewpubs and really good, but not so good for you foods in Green Bay! I stopped here for a biz lunch and we may as well have been in Lincoln Park or Portrero Hill. Urban ambiance, hipster staff, and a great menu of modern comfort food. I had Jordie Nelson’s favorite– the sweet potato meatloaf sandwich and cream of mushroom soup. Everything was fresh, tasty, and well worth the $ 10. This frog can hop!

I wanted a healthy lunch that would give me an energy boost and make me feel good. This place did just that. The food was top quality and flavorful. We got the turkey pesto sandwich with side salad and the St. Christopher, both of which were very tasty. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was clean, modern and casual. I am so happy to have stumbled upon such a nice healthy place; I will be back in the future.

I think most of the reviews sum up the Urban Frog well, but here’s my review. It’s refreshing to have a place that focuses on healthy eating. They have a good variety for any dietary issues. Anytime I’ve been with someone they’ve been willing to accommodate requests, assuming they have everything in stock, which oftentimes they do not. I’d like to think I’m having bad luck, but it’s happened a few times consecutively. Prices are a bit high for the portions, even though the food is good, but they do have a bit of a monopoly on healthy eating. Service is also a bit poor. It tends to be a bit snooty and I don’t find the restaurant to be all that relaxing of an environment. In my opinion this is really a two or three star place, but because of the fresh juices and specialty smoothies and limited options in the area it gets a bit of a boost. And the fact they do breakfast all day; again while available.

I tried The Urban Frog, looking for a light lunch, and it delivered. The walnut burger is like a cross between a granola bar and a cheeseburger, and I mean that in the best possible way. The srirachi mayo sells it. But what I’ll be going back for is the smoothies. The Green Monster is so healthy it’ll kill you with deliciousness. Must-try local tastiness.

It’s refreshing to find a quaint little spot that specializes in vegan, vegetarian, healthy, and responsibly sourced food in an area known for fried cheese curds and beer.((Not that those aren’t great or anything…)) My inner hippie was out in full force this weekend and I needed something healthy in my life(i.e., a wheatgrass shot and a detox juice). Although the menu consists of mostly vegetarian and vegan choices, there are some options for the carnivores out there((think sweet potato meatloaf, tuna melts, and turkey sandwiches galore)). Not to mention, I love that they serve breakfast items all day as well. Since I wasn’t in the mood for eggs, I went with the sprouted sunflower wrap. For whatever the reason was, I had been craving sprouts.((I go through sprout phases and I’m in one now)) Sadly, when I got my wrap it was stuffed with spinach and fresh greens instead. Sadface. The girl explained that the gentleman who took our order failed to mention they were out of sprouts. I suppose it would have been nice to share that with me before making the sandwich and asking if it was okay. Either way, I love spinach, didn’t want to be wasteful, and it was a darn good wrap. The bf went with the California breakfast wrap. After one bite of his sandwich, I had wished I went with a breakfast sammie. Oh well — I knew there would be a next time. Since I was feeling on the«blah» side, I also ordered a shot of wheatgrass and a Body Cleanser which consisted of cucumber, beet, apple, and carrot. It was earthy, sweet, and just what I needed. The bf went with a pineapple orange smoothie and liked it so much he went back the next day for another one. It tasted like a dreamsicle… how could he not?! I loved the earthy, urban vibe and found the staff welcoming, friendly and willing to chat anyone up… especially when it came to juicing((meaning fruits and veggies)). When we returned the next day for another juice and smoothie one of the local farmers was set up inside with a variety of his goods — jarred sauces, freshly grown herbs and greens, and local meats. If I hadn’t been traveling I would have loved to purchase one everything. I’m such a sucker for local products. Urban Frog is definitely one of my new«must to» places when I’m in the Green Bay area. Healthy, earthy, delicious, and veggie friendly. I couldn’t ask for anything more.

Where does your meat come from? I didn’t think anyone in the UP/Green Bay Area thought about this… and then I found UF!!! Sandwiches were so awesome I ordered extra to take back to my in-laws for dinner!

It’s so nice to have a restaurant here in Green Bay that offers fresh, healthy food options for a fair price. So far I’ve only tried a few menu items, all were very tasty. Just about every morning they post what specials they have for that day, including their unique Soup of the Day. Whenever I’m in the area, I have to stop at The Urban Spoon and get their Green Monster Smoothie, it’s so healthy and energizing! The atmosphere is very relaxing when it’s not lunch time, then it comes alive with local workers stopping in for a delicious meal. It’s also a great place to chill during the Wednesday evening farmer’s market in the Summer time. The staff is always very friendly, and it’s always the same people working. The owner is usually right there working side by side with them.

I cannot in good conciensce give this place 5 stars after viewing a microwave in their kitchen. Nonetheless, the food I ate was delicious, and the restaurant was very nice and clean. I agree with a previous poster about expanded hours. I would have eaten there on a Saturday evening, but they were closed!

Yes, healthy food, high priced, but what I had was pretty yummy. Even the wheat grass. However, if you seek out healhty options in other restaurants, you can find them. Don’t be a health snob. It’s not California… thank God. I now live in Nashville, TN and have to seek out the healthy options too. The only HUGENEGATIVE I have about this place is the customer service. NONE of the 3 women working were personable at all. No matter where you are, there’s no excuse for this in my book. Overall, food good, but could be a much better place with a little hospitality. Ok, a lot more hospitality! Health includes GOODVIBES!

Healthy, good tasting food at a affordable price. Nuff said. It’s one of my go to places while I’m in GB and I wish we had something like this where I live. Good up the great work!

THE place to go for really healthy, mindfully sourced food in Green Bay. The salads are fresh, flavorful. The breads are fresh, wholesome. The«vegetarian Reuben» is not really a vegetarian replacement for a true Reuben, as it does not have a seitan base(see Riverwest Coop in Milwaukee or Chicago Diner in Chicago(recipe at )), but is quite tasty and nutritious. The Urban Frog mock Reuben is centered around sauteed mushrooms, onions and spinach, and is quite good, just not a Reuben. To be totally awesome(5 stars) they could have a vegan substitute(soy cheese) for the Swiss cheese as well. The only other criticism I have is the hour of opening. To open at 7am instead of 8am would markedly improve accessibility for many people. The food here is far too healthy to not have it enjoyed by a much larger crowd.

I had a marvelous breakfast of a vegan wrap and tomato soup with Zinger on the side. The only reason I didn’t have a Walnut burger was the amount of food I already had – I will make another trip soon!

WTF? Healthy food in Green Bay!!! You betch’ya! LOL Thank Christ Almighty this place exists! When I lived in Green Bay trying to find a place that served healthy food was a real challenge, and I had just assumed that trying to find a place that sold wheat grass juice in Green Bay was like trying to find Jesse Jackson at a Klan rally. But thanks to The Urban Frog I was able to enjoy healthy, fresh organic meals, have my daily wheat grass, and enjoy natural juice blended smoothies like I did back in London and in Southern California! The walnut burger and the vegetarian reuben are AWESOME! Also, I loved their hummus! For salads the flax-lemon dressing was a must have. Oh, and the sprouted sunflower wrap was a must have! Their drinks are all VERY good. I think I liked the Red Rider the best(carrot, beet juice, lemon and ginger). Also, Popeye’s Potion of spinach, cucumber and celery was nice and refreshing. I also like the Green Peace which is a nice blend of wheatgrass and apple. There are places like the Urban Frog here in San Diego where I currently live, but when I was stuck in Green Bay this place was a real life-saver. Thank god it is still up and running!

What a great find in the land of brats and cheese. I grew up here and was pleasantly surprised when I paid a visit to family. Things have gotten much easier for vegetarians/vegans, but the lunch I had here was very delicious. I had the vegetarian rueben with organic blue corn chips — sauteed mushrooms and onions served on a hearty toasted multi-grain bread with the requisite swiss and sauer kraut. While waiting for my lunch dates, I also enjoyed a refreshing carrot-celery-ginger concoction from the juice bar and got some work done on my computer thanks to the free wi-fi. I have to agree with some of the previous reviews about the staff — though not rude, the lack of warmth belies the comfortable décor. Not a deal-breaker though. I will definitely return to try other items on their reasonably priced menu.

Stopped in for a small snack on a seemingly busy Saturday afternoon. I waited in line for at least 7 minutes(with only one party in front of me) to pay for one granola/power bar. I was in no rush so it was not a problem at the time. The girl who helped me was unfriendly and apathetic but not rude. I found out that the granola/power bar was six months past expiry when I opened it.(The date was printed on the underside of the sealing flap of the bar. I trusted the café so neglected to check for expiry before purchasing.) My thought was to exchange it for an unexpired one so I checked the remainder of the selection of bars for sale. They were all expired. I got back in line to get a refund. I explained to the girl at the counter the situation. With the same unfriendly, apathetic attitude and without apologizing, she refunded my money. There should be no excuses for such poor service and poor quality of product. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.
