Olde World Pastries Plus

We noticed this place as we drove to Lena to get a load of firewood. Stopped in on the way back. I’m from Milwaukee originally, so I’m always on the lookout for a good kringle. Olde World did not disappoint.
Everything from the earlier review was spot-​on. Not much I can add to that, other than to emphasize that they really specialize in kringle and it shows. We also bought one of their other pastries as a snack, which had cream cheese and fruit. Fantastic all around. I will definitely be getting my kringle from here in the future.

We saw OWPP from the road on our way from Madison to Marquette this weekend, but exercised enough self control to wait for the return trip to actually stop in. When you walk in, it is obvious that OWPP is a kringle specialist. They have pasties in a fridge case, but they’re not made in house. The whole place basically consists of a big case of kringles and a cash register. We had to wait for the woman who was baking in the back to come out and serve us. I was a little surprised at the diversity of flavors available, since I was really looking for a classic fruit flavor. Still, we took the sample of caramel-​nut that was offered to us, and quite enjoyed it. In the end we chose cherry cream cheese. The 10-​inch or so kringle was just the right size for 2 of us to split, and it came in an awesome bag that fit it perfectly. All in all, a delicious excursion, right off the freeway!
