Great food with a varied and unique menu. We had bruschetta, two flights of craft beers(including local/regional selections), the Apple walnut salad and the cherry chutney turkey sandwich. All were excellent. Everyone at neighboring tables is having a great time.

The food is decent but is so sloooooooooowww! Over 40 minutes to get our food and sat with empty water glasses for over 10 minutes. Waitresses kept on trading on and off on our table so was unsure on who to ask. Expect a lot more for a moderate-higher priced place

I love this place! Tuesday’s they have awesome French Onion Soup! We like their Sunday Brunch, also. We’ve never had a bad meal here!

I’ve been here a couple times for lunch which is good for me because it’s pretty close to my work. The bar is its own room in the middle of the restaurant and then there are tables and booths all along the sides. It’s generally pretty busy when I go here and have always got good service. It wasn’t over the top or anything, just friendly and helpful servers who just do a solid job and never a terribly wait for food. My last visit I had the elk burger with potato salad. The burger was juicy and spot-on.

We hadn’t been to Mackinaw’s in a long time despite working in the same Industrial Park because they have high prices for gigantic portions and you can’t get order smaller portions. Also because you can’t get in and out in an hour for your lunch break. My husband received a gift certificate for Mackinaw’s so we ordered 2 Caribbean Chicken over Linguine dinners to go. $ 15.99 for a gigantic family size container, it was so huge it was ludicrous. It was absolutely disgusting. Just loaded with huge strips of raw onion and peppers but what was so disgusting was the congealed«sauce» that was on it. We had huge pools of orange oil in the edges of the container with separated glops of sauce floating in it. We tried warming it a little more but nothing helped. I ate maybe an eighth of the container before I was just too grossed out to eat more, it felt like I had smeared half a jar of Vaseline on my mouth from the grease in the dish. My husband ate about a quarter of his before we threw it all out and took out the garbage so we wouldn’t have to smell it. Needless to say we spent the next 6 hours racing to the restroom sick as can be. If we had paid for this we would have demanded our money back but since it was a gift certificate there’s nothing to demand back and we have no desire to return.

Every once in awhile you’re pretty sure no matter what your rating, the crowds are still going to show up here. MacKinaw’s is a decent family style, locally owned restaurant with a lot of seating and a quasi log cabin theme complete with stuffed animals, saw blades and other knick-knacks displayed to impart the rough and tumble hardy style of the cold north – just a stone’s throw from a suburban mall of course. Nothing new about that. Everyone is trying to do it. The food is solid, particularly the steaks, but the vegetables are predictably over-steamed and limp without a lot of taste. The service, however, is quite good and the staff is attentive and one their toes. No extended waits for anything, particularly the drinks. Someone knows what they’re doing in terms of managing the front of the house. The atmosphere is fun, pleasant, and the prices are in line so it’s easy to see why they’re popular. But as far as great food, that it’s not in my opinion nor that of my relatives who have dined here a few times. Were I to return I’d stick with the steaks, cooked to perfection, and skip the vegetables. The garlic mashed potatoes are a safe bet even though that’s a far stretch for a vegetable when you were hoping for decent steamed broccoli. In this case I’d say the 3.5 stars they’re averaging is pretty much on the mark. Good for a large group, but if you’re looking for fine dining, you’ll be better off looking elsewhere.

Wait staff was very friendly! Mashed potatoes are awesome! Ribs were falling of the bones and covered in one of the best sauces I’ve had in a long time!

I have been here a handful of times with friends and family and I rather enjoy this place. They have an excellent menu and large portion sizes. The burgers are huge and when ordered it came as requested(medium-well). The order of ribs came with so many sides I had to bring some of it home as left-overs. The only reason they did not get five stars is that the service can some times be lacking. The last time we went we had a waitress that never came to our table but to take our order and give us our bill.

The log cabin atmosphere, the friendly management and waitstaff, live music on weekends, and always a great meal. These are the things that keep us going back to MacKinaws’s Grill and Spirits as regular customers.

I stopped on our way through town. The staff was all very friendly. Our waitress, Dana, was wonderful, kind, and very attentive/accommodating. The food was reminiscent of an Applebee’s, nothing I would rave on about, but filling. This is the type of place I would come with friends and enjoy the atmosphere of the lodge. The place is worth seeing, and the staff warranted the extra star and maybe an extra two.

Interesting décor, the restaurant is self seating. While looking for somewhere to sit one of the hostess asked me if I was looking for someone. Kind of made me laugh as there wasn’t anyone nearby to be waiting for and dining alone is not a problem for me at all. I promptly choose a seat and asked the waitress for must haves and she suggested the cheese curds and buffalo burger. The cheese curds came with fries and the serving size was huge. Tasted good but having eaten at titletown brewery the day before they don’t even compare. I ordered my buffalo burger medium well but it was well done but all in all the burger was ok. My server was attentive and I got 10% off via Unilocal but if I am back in Green Bay, WI I wouldn’t come back.

The Perch is always good, both the entrée size and the sandwich. Great tartar and coke slaw. Drinks have been strong, service has been pretty good, and the ambiance is terrific!

The service was great. Very friendly and attentive to the needs. Not sure what cheese curds are supposed to be but I assume these were average or possibly above, in my opinion they were ok. The walleye on the other hand was exceptional, served pan fried. I might consider asking for no breading although breading was good. Didn’t get deserts but others at table did and the all loved them. Everything had a nice home cooked feel

Stopped in after a fail at Anduzzi’s. Promptly seated. Drinks brought and orders taken quickly. Friendly service. Food was good — enjoyed the loaded chips. Snagged 10% off just by checking in. Nice ambiance. Would return if ever in the neighborhood.

Coolest interior design out of any restaurant in green bay. Ive been there about 15 – 20 times since opened and id say about 7 – 8 of them were complaint free meals. When it comes down to it. The scenery and up keep is a 9⁄10 and the food is a 5⁄10

First visit was an A-1 experience! Décor is a welcoming Northwoods cabin. Wait staff was smiling and attentive(kudos, Heidi!) But the food was a real treat! Unique choices, well prepared and very generous portions! We have found a favorite in our new town!

We had a completely decent food with great service. The restaurant is perfect for families, we brought along our 9 month old daughter and didn’t have any issues keeping her entertained or worrying that we would be a disruption to other guests. It was relatively noisy, and there were lots of other families there. I would recommend getting a reservation for busier nights(we didn’t have one, and waited around 15 minutes).

Our first meal of the weekend turned out to be the best! Saw an ad in the GB travel guide and decided to give it a whirl and were definitely not disappointed. The price tag on the Cheese Curds seems high, until you realize the curds are awesome, and the bed of fries is pretty delicious too. Definitely worth the price. I got a burger that had pulled pork on top of it, and that’s basically the way to my heart… right through my clogged arteries. The pulled pork could have been better, but the awesome burger quality and perfect bun for the burger hit the spot. Chips weren’t nearly as good as the fries, I’d definitely go with the fries on my next visit. Service was great, live music was cool(don’t see that enough anymore) and prices weren’t bad. If we get up to GB again, we’ll definitely be back!

MacKinaw’s was alright. Not horrible and not amazing. I stopped in here after spending a day on a plane and I was starving. It was recommended by the front desk clerk at my hotel and the only other option nearby was a Mexican joint… not gonna happen in Wisconsin. The restaurant reminded me of the place in movie The Great Outdoors where John Candy won his eating contest. There’s antlers and axes all over the walls. I sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly. I asked if he would recommend a local brew. He recommended… wait for it… MacKinaws ale. It was good. I had a bison burger but coming from Colorado I thought the burger was just ok. I’ve had much better bison burgers back home. Like I said all in all it was alright. If I came into town again and was starving and staying at the same hotel, I wouldn’t be opposed to going here again.

We were coming to Green Bay to Pick up a door at Menard’s. It was close to supper time and the bill board with the giant hamburger on it got out attention. So we stopped to try the MacKinaw burger. Upon arrival we were greeted by a bear mounted on the wall and a sign that said, «Seat yourself.» We sat in the bar area. Rustic is the word another Unilocaler uses to describe this place. That description is right on. The place reminds of a Paul Bunyan Restaurant. There are saws and lumber tools on the walls as décor. Now about that burger. The bartender took our order and our food was up in short order. This was a ½ pound burger char broiled to medium well perfection just as I ordered. The burger was juicy not greasy indicating it was made from a lean high quality meat. This masterpiece was served on a toasted bun with cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, and a pickle. This was an excellent burger which will now be listed in «Best Burgers» They also offer a buffalo burger for a few bucks more. I am looking forward trying that sometime. We’ll be back again.
