Julie’s Cafe & Catering

The service was horrible! The waitress didn’t even say hi to us, she just asked if we were ready to order our food, didn’t give us silverware or check on us at all. I wouldn’t suggest eating here for breakfast at all if you want horrible service with food or not feeling welcomed.

I had the breakfast burrito and a chocolate shake. The burrito definitely gave me a stomach ache — some of the ingredients clearly weren’t fresh, and you can tell the majority of the ingredients are processed/​from a can… I mean, it’s the crappy Perkins-​esque diner you can stomach every once and while, but definitely not regularly and not something you recommend to others.
The only reason this is ³⁄₃ and not ²⁄₃ is because the price is CHEAP. It’s hard to find these prices anywhere else, but you have to understand you’re getting what you pay for — for drinks, appetizers, and dinner for 2 it was about exactly $ 20. It’s really hard for me to knock Julie’s food down when the prices are so dang reasonable. I mean what can I say? It’s edible. Sorta.
Anyways, it seems to be a hit-​or-​miss. They have a huge menu that has everything on it from fish-​fry to frybread tacos, lots of opportunity there to do great or do horrible.
I will say this though, holy wow is the place dirty. D-​I-​R-​T-​Y. I sat on the booth and STUCK to it! Can’t even imagine what it might be like in the kitchen. Venture at your own risk.

I really like the food here, the staff is nice and friendly and the ambiance is pleasant. Prices are decent and nice and fast for hungover brunches. However, the employees are always out front smoking cigarettes which turns off foot traffic students like myself. Besides that, I love this place.

Could be good, but it’s not. I wanted to enjoy this place because it’s right next door to the motel, but it wasn’t good. I work in the restaurant business, and this is what you get when there is no love in the kitchen. Reasonably priced, nice enough and a great selection, but just bland, old tasting food. My steak tasted freezer burned, the meatloaf was the texture of canned dog food and the salad dressing was out of a Kraft bottle.

Food was absolutely disgusting. Eggs were overcooked, potatos were undercooked, coffee tasted terrible. The biscuits they serve make cans of Pilsbury look gourmet and the «gravy» was nothing more than milk and flour. Seriously that’s it milk and flour. One would expect sausage gravy when ordering «Biscuits and Gravy» off the breakfast menu but no. They could have atleast put a sprinkle of salt and pepper in there, not that it would have actually helped the situation but it might make them look a bit less stupid.
When asked, «how was everything today»? by the person wearing a Manager nametag at the register we responded «terrible» and he didn’t look or sound the least bit surprised. Didn’t even attempt to apologize.

Didn’t order anything, but the party I was with did, all the food was not good. This place is an excellent candidate for the TV show «Restaurant impossible» place was pretty dingie * think a Denny’s that’s been neglected, and you have yourself a Julie’s.
The coffee I ordered was weak, cold and bland. I was disappointed to say the least.
If I traveled to Wisconsin again, I definitely will skip Julie’s.

Meh. Service wasn’t that great. Waitress only stopped by 2 – 3 times. I had a hamburger. Weak on the bbq sauce. Onion rings were not good. Hamburger patty was thin and dried out. Meh.

I hate this place! Seriously… I really do! The service is slow, the food is mediocre… BUT this restaurant operates out of a really nice location and the prices are cheap cheap cheap. I come here often on a «date» with my husband or son and I always request a window seat so I can watch Bonnie and Clyde (the resident peacocks lol) and even though I an not thrilled by the food or service I always enjoy my meal and the scenery. This is typical diner food but great value and do not come if you are in a hurry… ask for a window seat and enjoy the wildlife pond!

Good food. Good prices. Good people. Peacocks.

I came here with a customer at his recommendation and I wouldn’t come back. The lettuce on my wrap looked brown and wilted. It wasn’t too appetizing.

Pretty good food with decent prices.
My favorite was the unlimited soup/​salad/​breadstick lunch, the chicken booya is the best.

I stopped in here for breakfast on a Friday and it was so pleasant. It was fairly empty at first but the tables steadily filled up and it’s definitely because of the good food and service. The view outside from the giant windows was beautiful; frozen over pond but it was warm enough they had the fountain going.
Anyway, to the meat. I always have been and always will be on the search for amazing Eggs Benedict. I have definitely set an usually high bar for what is my favorite breakfast dish, but Julie’s was able to meet it and exceed it! The food here is really quality and tasty and BIG. Do your body some yummy.
