I’m not sure what all the hype is about this place. Overpriced for the food service and atmosphere. Had baked cod –skimpy piece of dried out fish. Cole slaw and fries ok. Served on paper plate with a fork wrapped in a single cheap napkin. Very dirty and gross dining area. Waitress very nice but was very busy and didn’t see much of her. Took 10 minutes for her to bring back our change and receipt. I’ve lived in this area for many years and excited to try out a place that people raved about. One experience is more than enough. Will not return.

Love the Perch plate! This is a Friday favorite for myself and anyone I know that has made the trip to Farr’s Grove. Great service and amazing Perch plate. Ask for extra tartar sauce if you want.

My husband and I ate here for the first time and we’re not impressed. It was $ 30 for the 2 of us and that was for just fries and 2 pieces of fish each. NO drinks! Don’t think we’ll be back again.

We recently moved to the area and have been seeking a new fish fry to be our regular Friday stop. We received many recommendations of Farrs from locals, but after going, I’m not sure why. We both got the cod plates(we usually always got cod or haddock at our old joint), the fries and cole slaw were good… but the rest was disappointing. The fish were shaped(and tasted) like frozen fish sticks. Not good at all. The fried mushrooms were undercooked and had raw batter inside. Prices aren’t horrible, but also more expensive than all-you-can-eat fish frys we’ve been to. Not worth it.

Another place where we always feel very welcome. The bar is always lined with regulars, but they never treat us as though we do not belong. Yes, their drinks are run-of-the-mill, and not outstanding. They are, however, a dive bar in a small town in WI. I wouldn’t expect more. But the food is fantastic. The burgers are HUGE and well-cooked. They do not come with anything, but if you order a side, it’s a large portion! But the fish — oh, the fish! I have a thing for blue gill. The blue gill you get here is a nice-sized portion, hand-battered with a batter that’s not too heave, and deep fried. Always well-cooked. I do not generally like tartar sauce, but theirs is homemade, and extremely good! And the potato salad is always very good — not too heavy on the mustard. Prices are very low, too! And, since the smoking ban is in place in the state, we go there more often!
