I was on jury duty and ran here with another juror for a quick burger, this place was wonderful. There is a saying that hole in the wall places are the best and this place lives up to it. The burger I had was very tasty, fries were good but generic, not enough to detract from the burger. Canned soda was a bit much, but not even close to a deal breaker. The staff was lovely, very friendly and interested in you having a good experience.

To me this is a hidden gem of Green Bay that I feel only the locals really know about. It’s a short, white squared building surrounded by tall buildings downtown Green Bay. This is a little diner that makes some decent, cheap burgers. I like sitting up by the counter as I usually get service right away. The service is nothing great, but they get you your food and check in a timely manner. Last time I was here I got the chili cheese burger. The chili was slowly oozing out of the burger, but it was the tastiest mess I’ve ever had. Definitely get a burger when you go there. You have to pay extra to get a side and I would recommend the fries or cheese curds. I’ve been here for breakfast as well. It’s pretty straight forward breakfast. Not as good as the burgers, but I still stop by when I’m too lazy to make food and want to go out.

I guarantee a burger from Al’s will rival any other burger you have had. A small classic restaurant in downtown GB that will meet your expectations(as long as you enjoy a little grease). Try the cheese curds while you’re at it!

cute place. went for lunch. got their at 2:15. was told we got 10 mins to order. they close at 3pm. hmmmm? order 2 bacon cheeseburgers and 1 cheeseburger. 2 fries and 1 order onion rings. no bacon was on our burgers. i didnt want to say anything. waiter was kinda grumpy. no option of lett or tomato. so basically i got a plain cheeseburger on a bun. it was o.k. i have had better burgers in a lot of places. maybe breakfast is better.

Food is amazing! Mushroom & Swiss burger is ridiculously delicious! Prices are good! Huge basket of fries for $ 2.00. Place is clean but staff is not the cleanest. :/That’s why I give it 4⁄5 stars.

I’m not going to waste my time writing a review because apparently bad reviews don’t always stay put. I know someone who wrote a review about Als that was completely accurate and it isn’t here any more. That experience was so bad it was almost funny if you don’t mind eating gross food.

This place is a wonderful find with great food at great prices. The hash was«homegrown» as our waitress said. The chili was incredible as were the hamburgers.

I came back to review this after I had my best burger in Milwaukee. I’m not a burger person, so I didn’t know what makes a good burger. But after comparing to the best burger I ever had at Kopp’s in Milwaukee area, I know how I can rate this place. Same price, big difference. The burger at Al’s is boring and there are too much flies flying around your food wanting to get a bite before you do. I don’t know about«best burger in town», I think even Five Guys has better burger than Al’s. But yeah, this is only my own opinion, you can disagree. Their hash brown, a little salty for me. I wouldn’t come back to eat again. Service is equal to nothing, I don’t even know if I should tip or no.

Such a good greasy burger! My first time at Al’s was 15 years ago, It was so memorable, the lady cooking my burger had a cigarette hanging from her lip while flipping my burger… 2015… I was passing thru GB and remembered ALs and their crazy early hours, so I had to stop. I got the cheeseburger and was hoping for the same lady, with the ash about to fall into my paddy, but it wasn’t my lucky day I guess… Burger was awesome, cooked on top of a pile of onions! So greedy, cheesy and good!!! Hit up Als instead of krolls sometime for a early morning burger !!!

I have yet to eat the famous burger but I have had breakfast here and it was outstanding. I loved sitting at the counter and being able to customize my order. My eggs were done perfectly and the bread that is served with them was awesome. I will be back for that burger!

Oh Al’s. I’ve heard so many good things about you. You’re the talk of the town. Everyone brags about your burgers. Needless to say, you were a must-stop on my latest visit. Someone claims you have the best burger in Green Bay? I MUSTSEE! The restaurant is indeed a TINY little diner. There are three booths, and maybe 15 – 20 chairs at the bar. It’s really a cute establishment. You’ll probably leave with a little bit of the«diner smell,» which is good for your hunger later. I ordered the Al’s burger the way it is suggested, and it was very good. I think the patties were actually pretty large, the cheese was good, and the bun was very good. I added the pickles and onions and it was great! We also had the chili, which is a little spicy, but VERY good. I have to disagree about it being Green Bay’s best burger. I still think Drift Inn and Kroll’s give Al’s a run for the money. BUT. It is a VERYGOOD burger, and I would suggest giving it a try!

I loved this little hole in the wall burger shop, it was kind of hard to find because it was so small but I was worth it. Imagine a Waffle House, now add fresh meat instead of frozen, add fresh spices and soft buns, now you can imagine al’s. The only things I would add is a soda machine instead of cans and to get their TV to work, but beside that it is a great little burger shop

One hell of a hash. Let’s be honest hash never looks good to eat but these hash are amazing. I can’t even begin to explain it. And they know how to make eggs over medium which is so rare. Glad I live close I’ll definitely be back!

I went for lunch and didn’t try all the amazing looking breakfast creations. I had the burger/brat combo and it was good. The brat was lack luster compared to the burger portion of the sandwich. The onion rings were excellent, but they didn’t bring them out at the same time. The wait was a little long, but they have a fairly small grill and each patty takes up a lot of room and they can’t be rushed. Next time I’m in Green Bay I’ll try the breakfast and update my review.

This place has been around since 1934. All the reviews said to come here for the best burger in Green Bay. It lived up to the reviews. My husband can be selective about his burgers but he had The Yummy One which has a brat patty and a burger patty, add some Swiss, bacon and mayo and he said it was«the best burger he’s ever had». I had the regular burger the way it comes with fries. The buns are fresh everyday. Fresh hamburger every week. We are going to try breakfast here tomorrow morning. We are Coke people and they only have Pepsi but it was all good. Cool old style diner. Friendly staff. AWESOME! UPDATE: had breakfast there this morning and it was 5 stars. Quick, hot, large portions and cooked just the way we asked. $ 20 including tip.

Stopped in here for breakfast and some local Green Bay flavor before the Jets v Packers game on Sunday. Small, old school lunch counter type of place. Max capacity is 32 people. Breakfast served all day until 3:00pm. They close at 3:00pm because the game is at 3:25pm. Duh. I had the Steve’s Omelette(it has everything) and a side of French Toast. A okay. Our waiter volunteered that Steve, the cook and current proprietor, is the grandson of Al, the original owner. Local flavor baby !!!
