I use to love Harvest buffet… the food was good and the price wasn’t bad … now the food is just okay, crab legs are so small now and the price went up for food that is just okay. So we looked at the bill and its a little bit strange because they add the total then the 15% service charge then add the tax. aren’t they suppose to do the opposite? So now I am paying a little bit extra. I am not too satisfied. will most likely not come back

Although closed, I will still have to write a review for it because I remember coming here just because the drinks were also all you can drink! They had varieties from soda, bubble tea to herbal! This was a buffet. not a 5 star restaurant like what Laura J. had said(above) and I came with buffet expectations and I was happy… the price is decent. not the lowest but its not overpriced… There was a lot of different types of food! Seafood — all the shellfish were there! Meats — many Asian flavored meats Veggies — plenty. a whole salad bar! Specials — if I remember correctly, they had sushi, mongolian noodles and even a SOFTSERVE!!! Food was always replaced immediately! There was a dessert bar. I miss it just by talking about it! –_– If this wasn’t closed, I’d definitely come back for it. =(

Com’mon its a good buffet. This is a buffet people, not a five star restaurant. I came with low expectations and left beyond satisfied. Busy= new hot food. It was quite possibly the most expensive buffet I’ve ever been to, but worth it nevertheless. Will be returning…

Not sure what happen here. This place USED to be great, and then something happen. I went here a lot in middle school and early in highschool. I took a break from it and re-checked it out around 2008ish and boy did it go down hill. I guess that is why it closed. It went from a place I would go with with a bunch of girlfriends after not eating all day and stuff my face full of ALL kinds of food… to the kind of place I just didn’t feel comfy eating at.

Oh my, what can i say! This was heaven for my inner fatass. I’ve stayed away from Buffets for the longest time because of my personal experiences and the stigma of Buffets having cheap/disgusting food. But this is the rolls royce of buffets(from the experiences i had). I came here because of my gramdmothers birthday. The exterior was bad looking, rundown roof and yellow police taping that made this place look as if inside a crime scene took place. But as soon as i came inside i was amazed at the variety of good quality foods they had to offer. Why doesn’t the exterior match the interior i have no idea!?? It’s unlimited everything and if your dining for two its not too steep(but with kids and family thats a different story). They have crab Legs for days, everytime i came up to the buffet there was always a pile of crablegs and people were attacking them. The place just kept refilling them !!! And they have one whole row OFBUFFET filled with sushi, and im not talking vegetarian sushi. The sushi was alright, my favorite thing to grab was the tuna sashmi(very fresh unlike their salmon) and ell rolls. They have Frog legs, if you are willing to try. Many Seafood dishes: calamri, squid, shrimp, bass fish, etc(all breaded or in a special sauce) Green Tea Ice cream The coffee bubble tea is a must!(Almost as good as starbucks ;) Udon soup was great(You have to take the already made mixture bowl and add broth to it) Overall for a Buffet this is a great place to satisfy the beast inside you, make sure to come extra hungry. Also the prices vary on day and time so come when its cheaper like mornings or something.

Okay, so there we were driving along with kids, essentially starving, when we found harvest buffet. Everything looked really good, and although the adult price was rather expensive, I did see that they had a lot of seafood so I took the plunge. The food was ok, nothing really stood out, but what irked me the most was that they charged my ten year old as an adult because she is tall. That’s $ 29 for a ten year old… For Chinese buffet? No thank you.

I gave Harvest 4 stars in 2009, back then, it was decent(quality wise). They had wider variety of dishes. Today, Harvest Buffet flat out sucks! I came here for lunch today with my wife, $ 50 for 2 people! Breakdown 1. Service was terrible. We were there for only 30 minutes, our waiter never came back after serving our beverages. Our plates were never cleaned off our table, our drinks were never refilled. 2. Food — Some of their sushi is actually alright but the majority of it is terrible. Their tuna is disgusting. As for hot foods, I can’t think of one well served hot dish that was good. The shrimp /w mayo sauce and walnut was okay but the shrimp is the same shrimp they use for their shrimp cocktail. Very poor quality. Their crabs tasted like crap. I’m almost 100% certain that those crabs were leftovers from the previous night and they were just deep fried to pass it off as a new dish for the following day’s lunch service. 3. Desserts — Ice cream machine is definitely watered down. The pastries tasted like crap. Bubble tea was horrendous. The tapioca was rock hard and the milk tea itself was extremely watered down. Tasted barely any tea or milk. Verdict — After 30 minutes, I couldn’t take it anymore. The food was that bad. I was sick and tired of circling around the buffet with a empty plate hoping that they would bring something out of the kitchen that was fresh and good. The last time I was here, they at least had waffles, peking duck, and much better hot dishes. Our waiter didn’t come back to our table until we requested for the check through another waitress. Our first waiter came and asked us in chinese«please take your time and eat more», before he could finish his sentence, he realized the check and wet naps are already on our table, I then told him in chinese that we’re leaving and that the food here tasted so bad and we have no reason to stay. They gave us a $ 3 off coupon with our check but I say no thanks. Never again will I ever come back to this dump. People of Harvest can take that $ 3 coupon and shove it. $ 50 F’n dollars for lunch. If the food was good, I wouldn’t mind paying that price but the food absolutely sucked! Their business sucked, how can you possibly charge that price when your food quality ain’t even up to par?! You know your restaurant sucks when the default picture on your Unilocal page is a picture of a receipt from someone complaining about your price. Dinner service, $ 70 for 2 people? That’s ridiculous!

Harvest Buffet is one of the better buffets in Queens or Nassau depending on what corner your at. Hahaha. Harvest offers a larger selection to choose from consisting of Chinese, Japanese, and some Korean dishes. Everything is made to the highest of standards, but it’s gonna cost you. Two people will run you about $ 70. I know pricey for a buffet, but the food is good. Just go very hungry and remember no vegetables soup or pasta. Go for the expensive stuff.

Where are you reviewers eating? This food at this place is awful!!! No quality what-so-ever! They charge 50 per person for«holidays» which is a joke because It’s CHINESEFOOD!!! This stuff is the cheapest thing to make and they have the balls to charge $ 50.00 a person for disgusting food that’s been out all day? My sister(who has no idea what food quality is) picked this place for mother’s day because my mom wanted a buffet. Never again. We could have paid less at a Steakhouse in Manhattan than this disgusting place that serves fake sushi.

This place is not like the cheap chinese buffets where its like $ 7 for lunch and $ 13 for dinner. no this place is a lot more expensive than that. it competes with Mizumi and Minado. actually i’m sure that Mizumi has taken quite a bit of Harvest’s business. Everything here is pretty good to very good. nothing is LIKEWOAH… but what do you expect from a buffet? I agree that some of the food is too greasy but what makes me really like this place is that they are never done perfecting their offerings. whenever i come back to this place they always have something new that they didn’t have before. of course not everything is done successfully but they keep at it. Their sushi section used to be pitiful and basically all of the focus was on the hot foods but now their sushi is pretty impressive. They have gotten pretty innovative in the things they’ve tried with their rolls. my only complaint is that the rolls are a little too big… with too much rice. but don’t just fill up on sushi and maki cause the hot foods is really where this place shines. their crispy shrimp with walnuts in sweet mayo is my favorite, but they have everything. today i had frog legs and my son couldn’t stop scarfing down the snails. one big downside is their mandatory service charge which is total garbage.

This restaurant just adds to why I dislike Chinese buffet restaurants. To me, the food at all chinese buffets are just meh. This one is no different. Food is just sub-par and super-oily. The sushi section always looks really appetizing and is well presented, until you take a bite. Not fresh at all and worse than a mediocre sushi restaurant. They have the usual chinese and american dishes that appeal their mainly american customers. They have a cool fridge with a bunch of asian drinks like bubble tea, which is a nice touch. But obviously don’t expect it to be all that great as a real bubble tea place would be. Sadly. the only thing I enjoyed were the waffle fries and the soft serve ice cream, two things you just really cant screw up. They do however have a decent selection of wine and beer for being a chinese restaurant. Try the soft serve, it’s amazing.

Harvest Buffet is the best chinese buffet in this area. The food is presented well and tastes good, the buffet is pretty clean and the service could be slightly better. Harvest Buffet has a variety of items in their dinner buffet. Some of these items include snow crab legs, peking duck, walnut shrimp, sushi, raw oysters, peeled shrimp cocktail, noodles, rice, short ribs and dim sum. I find the food to pretty good and full of flavor. I really don’t expect perfection at buffets due to the huge variety of food. Harvest Buffet includes chinese, korean, japanese and american dishes. With the diversity of the food you can’t go here expecting perfection. The dishes will meet the expectations of most people but don’t expect a perfect korean short rib. If you one that perfect short rib go to a korean restaurant. The service is hit or miss. Sometimes I get a great server that constantly refills my buffet included drink and sometimes I have to hunt someone down to refill my drink and collect my dirty plate. The buffet is about 28 bucks Mon-Thurs and 30 bucks on weekends and holidays. They also tack on a 15 percent surcharge to your bill automatically. They take credit cards and there is an on site parking lot. I am giving Harvest 4 stars because I haven’t found a better chinese oriented buffet.

After reading mixed reviews, I decided to try Harvest Buffet. Not sure what all the raving is about. it is just a quite regular buffet. If you have ever been to one in AC or the big communistic one on Rt 110(Best Buffet) you wouldn’t even notice this one. This is Great Neck on the south side of Northern Blvd in what looks like what may have been an old Pizza Hut. To highlight a few items: Sushi was not firm or chilled. so the rolls were better… Only one stood out… the lobster meat with a few other ingredients and avocado on the top. Good! Dim sum… no way was there one stand out dim sum if you could call it that. or dumpling. No way. Pork looked too pink so I left two half through. Sauce for the dumplings with scallions wasn’t near them, but near a dish by the condiments… so you’d have to look for it. Scallops and cheese… creative individual baked cups. Seashell with scallops. also good. The funky shrimp with mango bits, and candied walnuts or pecans with an odd somewhat sweet white sauce… — very good but you would just want to taste it not have a meal of it. Piece of duck … somehow redeemed my liking of duck…(after D’Angelo’s in Westhampton. showed photo, people winced) It was flavorful, not greasy and done perfectly. Tempura shrimp. split thin and overly crunchy breading. Hot sweet fruit soups were not too good. thought looked hopeful. White coconut pudding with some fruit cocktail over it… lol… GOOD. Soft serve ice cream with a fried warm liquored up banana wasn’t terrible. I saw a few soggy tacos for people if they wanted them. Interesting! But not something to try. Tangy beef was ultra tender and likely salted to that point. Maybe even msg. no idea. but tasty . I never liked the way the Best Buffet treated employees but food wise Harvest is like it’s young kid brother. Not a real contender for buffets at all. Nothing was good enough to base a meal on, but enough items to provoke curiosity for trying alot. We tried too many things as always. It wasn’t expensive $ 44 and change for two people after tax and automatic tip. I find buffets inherently result in overeating. I’m sorry I brought my mother… she has less restraint and looked like something bad happened to her. Tip: Bring someone thin that has lots of restraint.

If you can’t decide if you want sushi, Chinese, Japanese… why decide, visit Harvest Buffet and have it all! Upon first look at the buffet area, it doesn’t seem all that big, but it is fully loaded with tons of options. A long line of sushi options offers various rolls that are more gourmet than your standard spicy tuna roll. Another section is loaded with shrimp cocktail, cold salads, fruit and veggies. Next up is a small selection of dim sum. After all that it’s time you move onto the hot food. A wide assortment of dishes that includes, chicken, fish, seafood, noodles, rice lots and lots to choose from. The stand outs for me are the Peking chicken; tender chicken with lots of flavor. The Creamy walnut shrimp are completely delicious and addictive; crispy shrimp in a creamy white sauce with walnuts. so good! Seafood pancakes loaded with scallions are just great. And you’re not done yet, you still have dessert. Choose from different flavors of bubble tea, both hot and cold, ice cream, cookies, pastries, cheese cake and churros. Oh my! Soft drinks, coffee and tea are all included in the price. The staff is friendly and good about removing dirty plates from your table as well as getting you refills for your drinks. It’s hard not to over do it here, because there really is some yummy food to indulge in.

*100th review* No bowel movement in 3 days. That was my status prior to coming here. What would stop any other man from achieving greatness was no match in my path to glory. I had been here several times pre-Yelp, and thus in my food-immature days. On Sunday, I returned a not as a man, but as a warrior, ready to notch another victory on his belt. My latest victory came with some temptations. The price for lunch was steep at almost $ 19. I knew I had my work cut out for me, and the unlimited bubble tea and other assorted drinks proved to be a deliciously worthy hindrance. I actually broke routine and started out with a drink instead of a soup. A near-fatal error indeed. However, I would make up for it on plate #2 and #3. Plate 1 was full of dim sum. A bit of everything from tripe to har gau. Easy enough, but it was more filling than I expected. My next decision was to get the most bang for the buck, and I did so with some seafood. And by some, I mean I probably put 4 species on the endangered list. My final«entrée» dishes were just to get a taste of everything. I completed the meal executing a new strategy — one that sacrifices an overwhelming victory for one more enjoyable(and fattening). Instead of maximizing on main dishes, I eat extra desserts. And Lord knows Harvest Buffet has desserts. In the end, one needn’t display thunderous dunks to get in the Hall. Finesse, longevity, and victories will suffice. So basically the restaurant lost money by serving me. As long as you don’t fill up on carbs and drinks, most people should at least be able to break even. Here are some highlights and details: –They opened the restaurant 15 minutes early because we were waiting outside –Food is probably among the best-presented Asian(Chinese, Thai, Japanese, etc) food I have seen, and definitely the best for buffets. Of note is the sushi –Selection provides variety and class. No General Tso’s chicken here, but you will find Thai-style calamari, an udon noodle soup station, and other dishes you would expect from a gourmet restaurant –Taste-wise, food was good, but not as good as it looks. It is not a primary factor in the experience, but my friend said the sushi was the best buffet-sushi ever. –Drinks are included. Sodas, teas, bubble tea, virgin daiquiris, mocha somethings, etc. And they are delicious. –They have mini gummy bears and crushed whoppers as ice cream toppings. –Mind you, this is all for lunch. Who knows what they have for dinner. RATINGS Service:(^_^) Selection:(^_^) Presentation:(^_^) Bang for buck:(^_-) Taste:(^_-) Glad I came and will come back at some point. PROTIP: check the Chinese newspaper for a coupon. Or eat there and get a coupon for next time.

Once upon a time, Harvest Buffet was the best buffet around. But, times have changed. Their prices have increased, the quality of the food has decreased and the the service which was once questionable is now non existent. After many years of being a loyal fan and patron of this restaurant, it pains me to say that I have had my last meal here. For starters, most of their dishes are caked in a thick layer of oil. They’re down right shiny and loaded with MSG. While I don’t dispute that many of the hot seafood dishes are pleasing to the palate at first bite, they leave you feeling sick and sluggish. After my last meal, I was physically ill all evening. The quality of the raw oysters and clams is subpar. The crab, which is a main attraction that draws many here in the first place, is not worth the trip or the money. Their only redeeming items are their sushi, sashimi and peking duck. But for the amount that they charge, I don’t see it being a good value. One some nights, dinner for 2 can run you over $ 70. For that money, I’d suggest going somewhere that offers quality over quantity. Really, I’m not here for pizza, quesadillas or bubble tea. Those things are cheap and if I was in the mood for them, I certainly wouldn’t have come here! In order to improve their restaurant, Harvest would have to do a complete overhaul. That would mean improving their décor, getting rid of the countless oily dishes that normally remain untouched and just take up space, getting rid of the disgusting glossy sheen on the majority of their food and just generally improving the quality of their offerings.
