A nice little rest stop. It is a bit confusing when you come off the freeway, be sure and keep to the right if you are in a car. I know this is confusing as I missed the turn /sign and ended up with the big trucks. I just pulled to the end and parked in a giant space and proceeded with my nap. One by one others came in and missed the turn then tried odd manuvers to try to get back to the car parking, rather than just park and walk an extra 200 feet. Safety First. Stop, walk to the facilities and take a nap. I love my napss along the way.

This is actually a nice little rest area that is literally just over the state line from Indiana and past the Wabash River. I do agree that the directions can be a bit confusing to first-timers and I also got a laugh out of the sign with the old school car that looked like it was from the 1970’s(too bad I couldn’t get a picture of it). The building itself isn’t very large but it is more than adequate for its purpose. There are of course restrooms and a water fountain inside along with a few vending machines. There are also a couple of brochures but not many. This part of Illinois honestly doesn’t have much to offer in the way of tourism and once you leave the Grayville area there is hardly anything to see until you get to Mt. Vernon(which is 50 miles further west). However there is another rest area just before Mt. Vernon that seems a little larger and even has a nice little nature trail behind it. But this is still not a bad place to stop in the meantime if you can’t hold it that long.

Rest stops are usually a god send, since you generally stop to go potty! This one was a bit confusing, they have visual cues on where one should head, aka an old school car directing car traffic to the right, alas there were a bunch of other symbols on both the left and the right… hence, hubby went left and we parked with the trucks. Not a big deal, except they hadn’t gotten around to shoveling yet and i decided to we cute shoes vs useful shoes for the trip — so my mesh footware had a little trouble with the snow on the stairs between the parking lot and the facilities. It is a nice indoor facility, with 4 stalls on the womens side, careful with some of the doors not closing or being«opened» for you when another stall becomes free!(pro tip the 3rd stall is the winner, closes tightly!)
