I cannot believe that I keep giving them a chance. The food is good but customer service is sooooooooooooooo bad! If you don’t care if the girls behind the counter look at you as if you are an alien or a burden then bon appétit!

My husband and I have been going to Ionie’s since the first day the doors opened. The food is amazing. However over the last several month, the service has been horrible, the portion size much smaller(and often inconsistant), and the staff has been rude. I went there tonight to purchase 2 meals for dinner and one of the young ladies behind the counter, named DeJenae, was so very rude and nasty that I almost just walked out. I am pretty sure tonight was my last visit to this eatery, which is unfortunate because the food IS good. I am sure that our annual $ 300 for food and $ 600 in catering will not mean anything as the place is always busy. I really do wish Velma the best and I hope she can correct the issues with her staff before loosing more core customers.

Customer service is horrible. They definitely need to fire some of the girls working at the counter and get better servers.

Food is ok, the customer service is very poor. Most times I don’t want to spend my money. I prefer tastee’s on Centerville Hwy. the customer service is exceptional as well as the food

Lets start with the most important issue-the food: its delicious! No need to further explain. However, the staff is below average at best. ALL of the cashiers act as if they would rather be some place else. I’m not sure if they are rude or would just prefer to be somewhere else. As for pricing, $ 15 for oxtail is too much. You be the judge. If not for the staff and pricing, i would give 5 stars.

The food is decent but the entire staff is RUDE! this time I wont be back. I gave them too many chances already and my friend had already cut them off… The young girls at the register are rude but even Ms. Ionie acts like you’re an interruption of her time. I’m done.

Where’s Loganville??? Lol, Every week we visit this spot. My wife, the curry chicken. Me, the Jerk. My kids varies on the taste that day. But it’s a nice Caribbean spot to stop by and eat in too. Try the Ginger punch, strong and good. Food is fresh and good, but dont wait too late, they will be out of jerk late friday and saturday.

One of my good friends recommended Ionie’s. I traveled all the way from Suwanee, GA to check it out… The service was great. The servers are welcoming and friendly. Big up’s to Sandy! She was awesome! And the food was scrumptious. Excellent food and I will make this the place whenever I am in the mood for Caribbean food. Keep up the good work guys!!!

I went to an event catered by Ionie’s. I had the roti, shrimp and ribs. All was excellent. I will make this a regular spot moving forward. It is hard to find good authentic Caribbean food in this area. Ionie’s hits the mark!

This has been the best Jamaican Food I have had since I’ve moved to Atlanta. Everything was great and flavorful! I was shocked by the large portions! I’m definitely a fan and will continue to go there for my Jamaican fix!

We visited on a regular basis with normal service, we even took my Jamaican father in law when he came to town. We didn’t have major issues until the last two times my husband visited. He went for a couple of patties to go. When he got home, he realized they were beef not chicken like he asked for. He had to go back to get the right kind and he got attitude from the cashier, like he messed up. He decided to give them another try and got the same incorrect patties. When he went back, they gave him attitude again. We will not be back. I guess we are going to have to try another Jamaican restaurant in Lawrenceville. It will be a little long drive but it should be worth it.

I can say that the jerk macaroni is 2 die for! Jamaican food is delicious, just not here! The owner a older lady must be the cook because she was upset when I sent my curry goat back. The cashier told me the portions had been scaled back but the price was still the same. What Dumas? Anyway, my wife ordered the curry chicken and received 4 pieces of chicken that had been chopped the Jamaican way. The curry was oily and not very flavorful so she sent it back. The owner said I had to pay for it because it was at the table for a long period of time. That was because the cashiers didn’t come back to check on us. I told the sous chef and the cashier that I didn’t like the portions for the price and they both had the nerve to say that the portions are really big. Yeah to the Smurfs. Bev’s Place on Memorial Dr near 285 has lunch specials that come with more meat for 6 $. Then there is another place that serves Jerk Chicken, Curry Goat all you can eat on 78 that only charges 10 $. Don’t waste your time driving to this place when you can Go to Island Café Memorial Dr near Rockbridge Rd everything there is Good. I will place my order for Jerk Macaroni with friends but will never go here again. Don’t!

Best Caribbean food on town. No complaints from me!!! The jerk mac/cheese is the best thing I’ve ever tasted. But, they ALWAYS run out. I have to call to reserve an order before I get there, but it’s worth it because its just that good!

Drove all the way out here and they did not have any jerk chicken. It was our first time going there and we were all really disappointed. This placed seemed really busy but honestly, there is no reason why any restaurant should be out of food(especially staple dishes) unless it’s 15mins until closing or something. It’s bad for business — especially for new customers whom it leaves a bad impression on. Maybe in the future I’ll come back and re-rate this but I doubt it. I gave 2 stars for failure to have this staple dish:/

OK all you ITPer’s, get yourself out of the inner-ring and hit up Ionies Island Kitchen for some really awesome Jamaican/Caribbean cookin! Seriously, this place be Jammin with some of the absolute BEST Island cuisine I have had; Curried Goat, Jerk Pork, Curry Chicken, and much more is served up fresh and hot! Sides are great as well and I’m especially taken with their Red Beans and Rice — simply stellar! Their prices are outstanding for the quality and quantity of food served so plan on some extra for next days meal; they offer two sizes of portions — lunch(smaller) or dinner(larger) but the board lists the dinner prices only; they will inform you of the differing size choice before you order. Service is café style order at the counter and brought to your table if eating in; your meal will be served on nice dinnerware with silverware; takeout in the usual Styrofoam container with plastic-ware. They just expanded their eat in dining area to double their prior size so there should be no more problem with finding a table. An outside dining patio is open as well. Word-of-warning though, lines can back up during peak hours but moves along fairly well as the staff does their best to fill orders while maintaining the quality of the foods served. Drinks are grab a can or bottle from the refrigerated case near the counter and consists of the usual domestic sodas, fruit punch/sport drinks, bottled water, and a wide assortment of Island specific non-alcoholic beverage; nice glassware with Ice is provided for eat in. Desserts are assorted flavor In-house made Island style Bundt cakes. I haven’t tried any yet being I was just too darn full to eat anymore; I will have to try soon as I have watched the large yummy looking servings fly off the glass covered cake platters! Place is extra clean and inviting with a very casual look and feel. A Flat Screen TV is on the wall for those who like to watch stuff. Ionies Island Kitchen is a gem of a place to get your Jam on! Five star all the way!
