It’s 24 hours but like most 24 hour restaurants in eastern KY, there isn’t anytime during the day that it doesn’t stink like a damn bar. Yes, smoking is still permitted in KY restaurants. There’s no divider. No smoking room. The western side of the restaurant is «smoke free» for what that’s worth the rest ain’t. Since tobacco smoke doesn’t adhere to boundaries it all stinks. I don’t know why smokers can’t accept that their right to smoke ends at my nose. Even the counter smoking is allowed. Its only a few feet from me in the western tip of restaurant. When someone is smoking there I keep walking up to ask the cashier an innocuous question and I fart. It’s much better when it’s a couple. The layout is very much like Wafflehouse. As a matter of fact almost everything is eerily similar to Wafflehouse except not quite as good and more smokey. Their food is OK. My mother-in-law loves their sweet potato fries. They stopped serving t-bones during the last mad cow epidemic. I guess they didn’t want to speed up the demise of their chain-smoking constituents. It’s obvious that they’ll never have smoke-free restaurants in many parts of Kentucky so the only way you can voice your opinion is to vote by your wallet or feet. That’s unfortunate but I feel that’s what makes America great. They can have smokers restaurants and I can chose not to utilize them.

Bacon and Hashbrowns were burnt so bad I couldn’t finish them. Coffee was ambient temperature. I don’t usually complain to wait staff, but I probably would have if she had come back to ask. Or warm up the coffee. Or anything other than twirling that nasty dish towel around her finger right beside the grill area. Slinging bacteria all over the place.

It’s got the local diner feel. It’s like a small-town Denny’s like Denny-type prices and very friendly wait staff. The food is pretty decent. I’d recommend stopping by here if not for the food, then for the small-town diner experience.
