As part of the agreement, we were allotted one bulk item per week, as well as a 96 gallon tote and a recycle bin. For several weeks, a roll of carpet sat out front by the cans, through snow and rain since they decided to pick it up. One day, on Waste Management’s pickup day, the roll disappeared… I can only imagine that was WM’s way of helping out — or an annoyed neighbor took it. Then, a half-sheet of paneling was out there, and again sat for weeks. I had enough, and decided to cancel the service. Several weeks later, they called and asked for payment, to which I let them know I cancelled. The female on the phone told me that the balance is still due and that there were no notes of bulk items to pick up. I informed her that there were, and that they would not be receiving payment. I also attached a note to the can for them to take the can, as we had cancelled service. It wasn’t taken for two weeks. So now, a few weeks later, they call me again, looking for payment. They ask for my service address, which I don’t have service with them. I then told her my current address, to which she told me of my balance due. I informed her that the balance is disputed as items were not being picked up, and then told her I had a relatively hard time with the previous person I talked to about this. She said«You don’t sound very pleasant to talk to either, asshole» and hung up. Update 7÷23÷2014: Lakes has processed an unauthorized debit to a card they have kept on file which was also not authorized. DONOT trust this merchant, this is not only an insecure way to store cards, but they willingly charge the card without authorization at a whim.
