Excellent food and great service. Fried shrimp delicious and fresh. Baked potatoes super hot and grouper superb. I’m from Atlanta and this is a great restaurant.

Great place to eat. Atmosphere and décor were exceptional. The food was very, very good. One of our party had the crab — stuffed-shrimp. Another had a veal cutlet, the third had filet and lobster tail and the fourth person had a filet. The meat was cooked exactly as requested — medium well was actually medium well. The presentations were very well done. The staff was very friendly, including those working the bar. Our server was friendly and professional. If we had a complaint, it would be that it took a little longer than we would have liked to get our food but honestly, the wait was insignificant considering how good it was. Another thing-looking around the dining room nobody was in crusty flip-flops and dirty shorts with sleeveless tee shirts. Also, the noise level in the room was low considering the place was full. Might not be as important to you but it is nice to be able to converse with the people at your table without a megaphone and it’s also nice not to have to look at somebody’s pit hair or fungus encrusted toenails while you eat. Final note-if you go here for no other reason, go for the desserts. Fabulous bread pudding with a custard-like texture was off the chart. I highly recommend these guys for a great dinner and an overall enjoyable dining experience.

Overall we give the staff an «A» for effort. The SurReal was overwhelmed by the Mother’s Day crowd. One server was waiting on a group of twenty unassisted. There just was not enough staff to handle the crowd. That said the servers did their best with what they had. We would go back on a quieter day. The food was good.

I came into Gray because all the restaurants in Milledgeville where closed due to a water main break. I was greeted promptly by the server when I sat down and the service began to decline soon there after. I ordered the shrimp and grits and the grits where clumpy and hard to eat. The plate with my silverware and used napkin inside sat in front of me for almost 10 min after I finished eating. I had a full beer in front of me and the original server asked me if I wanted my check and I said«I’m going to drink another beer». Halfway though the beer she brought me my bill. I was going to sit and enjoy the atmosphere but I felt like I was pushed out the door.

The food was excellent. The service was below par. Many mistakes and slooooooooow, but I think it was just our waitress as other groups, larger than ours who came in after us, received their food before we did. The to go order we ordered when we got our meals wasn’t ready 40 minutes later when we were ready to leave and then it was wrong. The atmosphere of the restaurant was confusing in that it had a little bit high prices on the menu and specialty meals but also had big screen TV’s with basketball on. The pomegranate vinaigrette salad dressing was very good. The food was tasty and adequate portions but did not overcome the bad service and slightly high prices. Not sure I will go again unless there is a great coupon or deal. The worst part was the waitress tried to blame the kitchen staff for getting backed up. Not good to throw coworkers under the bus when it was evident food was coming out to others. Clearly a waitress issue as we had empty glasses of drink(tea and Coke) and others were getting their meals.

Sorry to say, but I would not recommend this restaurant. First of all, it advertises that it has Prime Rib every day, we traveled 10+ miles only to find«Sorry, we only have Prime Rib on Thursday — Sat». Really, well you web site states you have it, «Oh, we just started this week» That’s just the beginning, «No short ribs available tonight». The crab bisque was missing the crab. YuK! I must admit I do not like everything I eat cooked in fat… we settled for Fried Steak and gravy… when I question if the steak was beef or Chicken the waitress said, «I think it’s pork»… nope wrong again, beef it was(full of gristle). Green beans and garlic mashed potatoes(lumpy) full of processed garlic(I am definitely spoiled and only use fresh garlic). The grand finale was the peach cobbler(shortness of peaches), served with hardly cooked crust(soggy beyond recognition) and served with ice cream w/ice chips in it. Further more, many of the items are cooked off premise, from a subcontractor. Please, please, please, come north, we definitely surpass this type of food… Good luck to you all if you plan on eating there. Wine was great at 2 glasses for $ 8… Waitress was great, but hardly aware of things, but tried beyond words.

Had dinner at Surreal tonight with 2 friends. We found the décor appealing and the staff very pleasant. For an appetizer we had the bacon wrapped scallops. They weren’t the best scallops Ihave ever had but they were very good and we all enjpyed them. On the to entrees. we had a ribeye, chicken fried steak, and fried shrimp. My steak was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I could not have been happier with it. The friend that had the chicken fried steak all but llicked the plate clean. My other friend said the fried shrimp were very good and cooked just right, not over cooked like so many restaurants. We really enjoyed dining there and our server, Ebony, was very sweet. If you are anywhere near Gray I recommend dining at Surreal.

Great new restaurant in Middle Georgia with a wonderful atmosphere. The flavor of all of our courses was very good and we tried several different things. Our server was also very attentive during our entire dinner. Looking forward to going back soon and trying more of their original recipes.
