I love this little bookstore because their customer service is excellent. They don’t have as big of a selection of some of the big box stores, but they can usually get you your book within a day or two. I try and support this business because they are a great place.

Best book store in town! Such a helpful staff with a wide variety of books for all ages. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, they will order it and have it for you within a few days.

A great, small independent bookstore, with a pretty respectable selection of new books of all genres. They’re also very accommodating with orders if you can’t find what you’re looking for. I ordered a book that wasn’t in stock and it showed up only a couple days later. Shop local, don’t buy from Amazon.

Typical trip to «The Bookseller». Walk in, in search of a specific book that I am interested in. Am greeted by the most friendly group of employees ever! Even if it’s 20 minutes until closing. Get sidetracked by their new releases section and find a great steal for one too. Go up to counter, purchase my new«mind adventure» and walk out. Then realize that I had totally forgot about the main reason I went in. Repeat next weekend.

Shopping locally for books is easy to do in Grass Valley. We are lucky to have The Book Seller. The staff is well read and offer their personal excellent book reviews from best sellers to the more obscure titles. If they don’t stock a book you want, special orders are placed on the spot and will arrive in a few days. The children’s department is the entire basement and loaded with books for children of all ages. Parking is sometimes a challenge on MIll street, but there are several public parking lots close by.

I’ve always liked it here. The staff is knowledgable, the selection pretty good and the downstairs kid’s area is amazing. :) I loved hiding down there when I was younger. I miss Romeow, the feline store mascot.

When I walked into The Bookseller life was beautiful once again. I was on a car trip with a girlfriend and four kids on a hot afternoon. Grass Valley is a quaint village in the Sierra Nevada foothills with one commercial main street. As the horde of us window shopped, we left the blazing sun for the soothing cool of the bookstore. My attitude perked up as soon as I noticed the clerks laughing at the front desk; I caught their playful attitude. The Bookseller is one store front with an entire basement, the Children’s Cellar, dedicated to children’s books. When we walked up to the cash register with our purchases, the employees were talking about the traffic jam on the highway. Since I’m from Los Angeles, I asked them what rush hour meant to a town of 12,000; does that mean you aren’t the first car at the stoplight or that you can’t get through the intersection in the period of one stoplight? They were bewildered, traffic means you can’t go 65MPH on the highway — in Los Angeles traveling at 65MPH is not an expectation, it’s a gift.

This is a pretty good new book store. Especially strong in local interest books. Friendly staff. Large downstairs childrens books area. Hands-on ownership, occasional author events.
