Dollar General

This store is great! I found my deodorant for $ 1 on an aisle near the middle of the store, going towards the milk. Not in the regular place, so you need to look around. This isn’t a «dollar» store, but things are definitely cheaper! Glad to see this fine store very busy when I went in, but they didn’t give any bags, so bring your own.
I love this store, it’s not a one dollar store, so get over it. Stuff is inexpensive. Vitamins are cheap, lower than Kmart, soap is cheaper than Kmart and target. It’s wonderful. Baby wipes cheaper, candy cheaper… I can go on. I will always shop here, it’s out of my way, but it helps my budget for sure. And the cashiers go out of their way to help find things and get merchandise I can’t reach! Kudos to them and the store. I hope everybody shops here. We need new businesses here in Grass Valley, so go and support them!

People who go in here think it’s another dollar store and then get angry and harsh towards when the realize they made a mistake. It’s not a dollar store. It’s a discount store. (The general saves you dollars). So regardless of people’s notions, it isn’t a bad store.
It’s a decent size, and they have a broad selection (food to clothes, feminine and toiletries to cosmetics and hair, toys, movies, holiday decorations, toys, house stuff, tech stuff, etc.)
The service is good when they have full staffing but they have been short handed they tell me. They also told me they’re working on that so *shrug* the prices on most of all of it are good deals, just don’t buy chips from them (idk why chips in particular are more expensive there then at Save Mart but they are).
Overall: broad selection of good deals.
I go here frequently.

I was excited to have a large selection of $ 1 items but as it turns out almost nothing in this «DOLLAR» store is actually a dollar. There was no system for lining up to pay, which leaves customers confused plus the cashiers have zero warm or customer service skills. My cashier barely looked up from her register. Items do seem to be less than at department or grocery stores but don’t waist your time.
