Eat here if you can. The signature tamales dish was pretty good. I like that the tamales were served still in husks and piping warm. The sauce on top was colorful and delicious. These tamales tasted pretty good, actually, even for airport food. The beans were a site to behold. Literally, I think someone piled a can of beans and a can of salsa into a bowl and just stirred. I swear, this is what the beans look like and this is what the beans taste like. I mean, it was fine. The rice was starchy. Overall, I am pleased that the servers put my order in right away so I could make my next flight. I still think they ‘hung out’ too much among themselves instead of expediting my order and that I waited too long. I snarfed down the delicious tamales and then just said peace out.

The only reason I’m going so far as to give 2 stars was that the service was nice. The food gets a zero. Basil pesto on my tamale? Noxious! And the«tortilla soup» that was chicken broth garnished with tortilla strips, and loaded with chopped raw jalapenos? Just awful.

They make a good bloody mary but in the future I won’t eat here. On our last stop through we ordered steaks and they were so disappointing. The soup I ordered to start I think may have been forgotten by the waitress– she brought it way after the steaks when we were closing our tab. Stick to booze and grab your sustenance elsewhere guys!

Ordered the carne asada and cheese enchiladas. Enchiladas were good the steak was closer to beef jerky. Decent prices for an airport. The grouchy female bartender pretty much sealed the deal that I won’t hit this place again. There’s too many other good places to eat in terminal D to have to deal with a nasty attitude and a bartender that is more interested in playing on her phone than working.

Ugh… Don’t order the salsa — it comes out hot! Not spicy — hot like temperature. It’s disgusting — like eating marinara on chips. And it tastes like rotten tomatoes. Inedible. Also had the fish tacos — they were OK but nothing to return for. Wish I read the reviews before stopping here! Skip this place!

Vegetarians should skip this restaurant unless they’re favorite cravings include steamed vegetables and a side of rice or simple salads. I had a quick meal before getting on a 9.5 hour flight to Frankfurt. I ordered the vegetable plate, which was one of the only vegetarian options on the menu. I probably should have went in the salad direction: the vegetable plate was an uninspiring heap of steamed or grilled(uncertain…) broccoli and zucchini, which required copious amounts of hot sauce. Also, what kind of restaurant that classifies itself as «Western» or some blend of Tex-Mex and Southwestern doesn’t sell queso? I’ve never understood with $ 15 can’t buy you decent airport food. I seriously dream of a world where air travel isn’t associated with overpriced, unexciting cuisine.

Reata could be classified as not bad but certainly not great. The location and views leave a bit to be desired, but what can you expect from this type of establishment. The menu itself is actually quite extensive with everything from salads, to enchiladas to burgers with a couple of BBQ items mixed in here and there. I ordered the BBQ chicken with a side of fries and I must say that the service was prompt, friendly and the food was actually quite fresh tasting. The chicken sandwich itself was good but lacked meat as the chicken to bread ratio was a bit in favor of the bread lol. Overall an average place to dine if you find yourself inside DFW. This is NOT the Reata of downtown Fort Worth fame. The menu may be the same as well as the name but that is where any similarities cease. Pick a category and it simply comes no where near the Fort Worth favorite. I guess it all went south when I wasn’t greeted only to have the menu thrown in my general direction. It might have been forgiven had they been super slammed busy. Too bad I seemed to be 1 of my 8 – 9 diners. I guess we know why.

I stopped by this restaurant while in DFW airport waiting for my connecting flight to Los Cabos, Mexico. I was directed here by another restaurant in the airport because I was looking for breakfast food and the other restaurants stop breakfast at about 9:30a. The restaurant was empty but appeared to be clean. After ordering my food it was served to me pretty quickly. The food looked very plain and the potatoes were basically just fried pieces. The breakfast was not what I expected at all but it was OK. I wouldn’t return for breakfast especially at that price($ 8.99). I wish I would’ve stuck with McDonalds.
