We love Cracker Barrel, but not this one. Stopped by the GVCB last night. The restaurant was half full. Hostess took our names and said we had to wait 15 minutes because the kitchen was busy and behind(with a half full restaurant). 15 minutes went by and were told 5 more minutes, then 5 more minutes, … Soon the gift shop was full of «hangry» people like us. The hostess kept asking the manager if she could seat people. The Manager repeatedly said no. I told the hostess they should seat these people and give them tea and biscuits. The hostess apologized and was almost in tears. My wife and I grabbed some chairs, sat down and placed a Chipoltle order on my phone. I only gave this restaurant 1 star because the candy we purchased in the gift shop was good. We were never served dinner. We left to go pick up our Chipoltle. This GVCB Manager does not understand customer service. Never turn away business. Take care of your customers. Corporate CB pay attention to this store. They are pushing away your customers. We will not return to the GVCB.

The worst CB experience I have EVER had. My nephew had a 3 hour layover at DFW, so I picked him up for dinner at CB. There were plenty of parking spaces, and the restaurant wasn’t overly crowded for a Saturday evening. We walked up to the host stand and the host Ken said he’d be right back after seating a table. When he came back, it was like he’d never seen us. We got a blank stare for a few seconds, then he asked«Did you need a table?». Kinda obvious, given we were standing at the host stand, staring at him. Weird.(In Ken’s defense, his apron was labeled«Rising Star», which my nephew and I both agreed that he had a lonnnnng way to go to get to the top.) We were seated, without a word from Ken; I’m used to a friendly«enjoy your meal» or «your server … will be right with you». We got nary a peep from good olé Ken. Nephew and I sat there for at least 7 minutes before I had to flag down a server to take our drink AND meal order.(Keep in mind that there were a LOT of empty tables…) The biscuits and cornbread came out with the meal instead of before, and were room temperature with ice-cold butter. Great combination. The only thing done right was that the order came out correctly(sort of). All of the choices we made were given to us. I had chicken fried chicken and some sides. All were good. Nephew ordered a steak medium rare with sides. He ate his sides first, then started to work on his steak. He was concerned that it was mostly fat, until he really cut into the center. His steak had a beautiful sear on the outside and was RAW on the inside! There was blood running out on the plate; keep in mind, he ordered medium rare, NOT rare. When the server came back by with more water, I told her to take the ticket back and remove the steak. She left and sent the manager over, who proceeded to ask how the steak was ordered. We told her medium rare and she tried to convince us that it was a medium rare steak, cooked for SIXSECONDS on each side!!! WHAT!!! Six seconds??? You don’t even cook blue steak for such a short amount of time! We got the steak removed after telling them that we were absolutely not returning it to the kitchen to be cooked longer.(Everyone knows you never send food back to the kitchen.) Extremely disappointed in this location. Fortunately, there are many others much closer to my home that offer much better service.

We came here for lunch today and it was so disappointing. We had 6 people and the wait was 25 min for a restaurant that wasn’t even crowded at all. Then when we finally got seated they didn’t have crayons for the kids. We ordered our food and it took 45 min to get it out! We’re pretty sure our waitress just forgot about us cause some plates were cold and other were over cooked when the food finally came out We asked for water and napkins and never got them Overall it was a bad experience. Sad cause we love Cracker Barrel but I’ll never go back to this one

It’s been years since I’ve eaten at a Cracker Barrel. No knock on this particular location in Grapevine but I hope it’s my last. I basically just came to keep my wife happy and kids nourished. They are good boys after all. Wait, what were we talking about again. Squirrels!

We are huge fans of Cracker Barrel and typically frequent a couple times a month for family dinners. Unfortunately our experience last night at the Grapevine left us questioning whether we will return. The big issue was lack of service and responsiveness by the CG team. Upon arriving around 6pm on a Thursday, we were told it would around a 10 minute wait for our party of 6 which was ok though an entire section was open and not being served. After 20 minutes we inquired when we would be seated to which we were told they were waiting for a table to be bussed — a table that had been vacant for over 15 minutes as it was in clear line of sight to the hostess stand. After another 5 minutes, we inquired again asking for a manager. This request took another 5 minutes. The manager was completely unapologetic sharing they were doing all they could with«no bussers». The most frustrating part of the whole experience was there was extra staff — two hostesses and one cashier standing around doing nothing during the entire experience. I would have bussed the table myself given how hungry we were if I knew where the dish trays were! Will not be returning.

BESTEXPERIENCEHANDSDOWN!!! GIGIWASAWESOME!!! We asked for water no lemon and she brought out just that! We had 4 orders of Mamas pancakes at the table and we had nothing to complain about. Food was cooked to perfection!!! We asked for biscuits and she brought out 8!!!(That put the icing on the cake) She continuously refilled our drinks without having to ask! The manager came over asked how things were and we all were satisfied! Everything was great and when you go always ask for GiGi!!!

Request Gigi as a server. I knew when I ordered my water NO lemon, and she got that correct, that this was going to be a decent experience(I promise this usually predicts how the experience will go). She was very attentive. The food was awesome. The glasses were never empty. Every request we gave, she was on top of it. Management even came over and checked with us. He even took plates out of our way so we could have more room. Management should always walk around and check on the guests /food/experience, and he did just that. I will be back, and she will be tipped!

I really like the concept of these restaurants and the general store attached to it. I also like their all day breakfast menu which is why a lot of us flock to this restaurant chain when we are on the road. The problem is more times then not its crowded and understaffed and the service is typically not good. This restaurant happens to have one of the worse servers I’ve ever had wait on me. She never looked up at me, never said«hi are you ready to order» she just walked up to my table stood there waiting for me to respond and I waited for that awkward silence… I don’t care how good your food is no restaurant can be successful with bad service.

Got the chicken fried chicken, mac and cheese, fried okra, hash brown casserole, fried apples. The service was really good. Not very busy so good got to us fast. Everything was yummy and really hot when we got it so I was very pleased. The service is so much better than the Cracker Barrel closer to me. Would for sure visit again.

AMAZINGSERVICE! It is a Sunday morning and super packed and we only waited about 10mins to get a table, our waiter, Rudy tall young guy he was great and service was prompt. Our drinks came immediately and he didn’t miss a beat with our order. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and it was perfect. Exceeded my expectations. Everything tasted homemade like your grandmother is back there making your meal. While we were enjoying our yummy meal, the manager stopped by our table to see if we were doing okay and the table next to us had an issue with their dessert, he immediately promised them he would fix the problem and brought a new dessert for them. Goes to prove they really care. Highly recommend! !

My favorite pancakes. Tender and touch of crisp around the edge. Also buttery. I even have them fkr dinner. The biscuits are light and airy but bland. Goes well with the marion blackerrry jelly or with gravy.

I was hesitant to go here based off of reviews but I am glad we did. Very toddler friendly, and adult friendly. All the staff was personable and kind. Our server Ashley was amazing, very attentive and on top of things. She made great menu suggestions for son too. Food was great for the price. Mac and cheese was awesome.

I am a HUGE fan of Cracker Barrel. Living in SoCal, the nearest CB is in Arizona. So when we traveled to Texas, we were so excited to stop by one of the many CBs in the area. My favorite meal to get is the Eggs in a Basket. The sourdough toast is always yummy. The eggs cooked to perfection. the HASHBROWNCASSEROLE… omg. My kids were digging on the fried apples with cinnamon. The food did not disappoint. The service was not the greatest though. I’m not sure if she was new, but she didn’t seem to know the menu that well and simple off the menu requests confused her(strawberry milk for the kiddos– add syrup to the milk).

Very typical set up of this fine food chain. The food was up to par what it usually is. Had breakfast here due to the Great Wolf lodge breakfast cost. Service was very great and helped with choices.

My wife and I had went to Grapevine for Valentine’s weekend. We decided to go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. There was about a 20 minute wait, usually there is always a wait. Got seated and ordered our food, it came out pretty quickly and was very good. Decently priced as well.

Stopped in here to eat with my daughter. Definitely the worst experience ever. While servers took care of adjacent tables, not one offered to get us drinks, take our order or even acknowledge we were there. After nearly 30 minutes of trying to flag one down I finally walked to the front to find a manager who half heartedly apologized and found us a server. Service was still quite lacking even after this. Will never visit this location again

If it wasn’t for those biscuits… Today would’ve taken them off my list. Table was dirty with sticky jelly all over it when they seated us. Watery grits. Asked for biscuits with drinks, they came with the meal. Server wasn’t really on his game. Just mediocre at best. I’m sure I’ll be back but I have lowered my bar for them significantly.

We got off an overnight flight from Hawaii and wanted some southern cooking. Should have driven pass Cracker Barrel to IHOP. Service is good but the food sucks. The only thing good was the syrup for the pancakes. I can see why they’re going down. Won’t RTE.

Cracker Barrel on the decline. Came here with my mother because I was craving pancakes for dinner. The pancakes had a very burnt and bitter taste to it that just was not pleasant at all. My mother’s dish(campfire beef) needed to be immediately sent back to the kitchen the first time for being very obviously burnt, so I was too tired and hungry to have mine sent back by the time they came back around. Cornbread and biscuit had obviously been sitting out for a while because they were either drenched in butter/oil or had a bit of a stale texture to them. Our waiter was nice so I’ll bump up the review from 1 to 2 stars. However, the hostess took a while to seat us despite half of the restaurant being empty.

Our service was great. There’s nothing like southern hospitality. I had breakfast for dinner and it was good. Nothing over the top, but a good solid breakfast. Thank you Cracker Barrel.
