Attending a conference at Gaylord Resort and Conference center. Caught an Über ride and asked for a local favorite. What a gem! Delicious food, great service. Don’t let the parking lot fool you! Worth going in and reasonably priced!

Love the food! Any dish with the vodka sauce makes it extra delicious! My family loves the tortellini alla vodka and we enjoy the fresh bread with butter and house salad. The price is a tad bit expensive, but the food is good!

Amazing service. The owner knew it was our first visit, so he gave us complimentary calamari. You can bring your own wine and have them uncork it.

I had the Seafood Lobster Special. It wasn’t impressive like the waiter raved about. It was a $ 30 dish and not worth $ 10. I ate the small piece of lobster and three shrimp and left the rest for the bus boy. The bread wasn’t impressive either like all of the reviews rave about. Meh.

We were wine crawling in grapevine when the winery recommended café Italian for dinner. It was still early but we went for the early dinner and enjoyed it very much especially since it wasn’t crowded. They were serving a special Mother’s Day menu. The chicken piccata was great and came with a small dinner salad. Try the house dressing — it was great. The wife had a chicken entre that also had shrimp which she gave to me. The setting is kind of dark and it is byob but very enjoyable.

Make note: Closes at 9:00 on Sunday’s, not 9:30. Came for a nice evening out at 8:30 and were told we would be rushed. Got it to go, we usually have a really good experience here! Food is still great, but they will not seat you 20 minutes before closing as we saw.

Café Italia is so good it makes me shed a tear at the thought of it. It’s unassuming and authentic, like any good restaurant. When the waiter arrived at the table he quoted the special, which he made sound so poetic that I had to order it. It was the Pollo Piccatta– chicken with sauteed capers in a lemon white wine sauce. I added artichoke hearts with no up-charge. For the appetizer we ordered calamari, which was cooked just right. The bread they offer before the meal is also delicious. The waiter was extremely attentive and made sure we had adequate refills of everything. When our food came out everything looked so good we all tried a bite of each others dish. Everyone of them was as good as the last. Café Italia= bellissime. Will be back.

Really enjoyed the meal here. It’s a small venue, so be sure to make reservations. It is a quaint place, good atmosphere, romantic. The food is delicious. Our party ordered a few different things and we each tried the others’ meal: Lobster ravioli, yum! Veal chop, yum! Sea bass, yum! It’s also BYOB, so bring your choice of wine. Highly recommend.

I wish my experience was better but at best it was sub par. Some friends and I went here for a b-day party. My friend called ahead to make sure we would be able to get in. Upon arrival we were in fact seated quickly, this was the only thing that went well at that dinner. Our server only went to my friends mom to get her drink order and left. We are all in our late 20’s early 30’s so it was very strange to be treated like a child. We waited for until be brought back her drink to remind him that he had a full table there who all were ordering. He did not apologize for his mistake but he did finally take our drink order. Once he was finished with bringing the drinks he AGAIN went back to my friends mom(around 60 year old woman) and asked what she was ordering and no one else. One of my other friends who is also a waitress at a different location got up and requested a new waiter. We couldn’t believe how rude that guy was and my friends mom was equally offended. Now on the server number two, he came to the table and did apologized for what was going on but assured us he would take care of everything. We placed our food orders and hoped everything was fixed, every single one of our drinks were empty and the waiter was no where to be found. My friend who was the waiter again went to ask the manager for help since we had not seen this new waiter for 27 minuets. So here comes waiter number three. At this point I am so beyond frustrated and I want to leave but it wasn’t my birthday and my friend whose party it was for wanted to still give them a chance so we stayed. Finally our food comes out, most of our food was room temperature, two dishes were warm, and one was rather cold. I sent my meal back and did not want another, I already had a full Café italia experience. Oh by the way there were other tables in there and they were also looking around complaining about not being able to find their waiters. One of my friends who had a warm plate said her meal was decent and everyone else who bothered to try the food did not like it. The restaurant has cute curb appeal and looks like it could be decent but between the poor quality food, the pathetic waiters, and the sad sack in the kitchen this is a place to avoid like a plague. This disappointment took place a few months back and I am still frustrated by what took place.

I love this place! It’s a great gem in Grapevine, and BYOB. Like everyone says, please make a reservation or you’ll be waiting outside for a while, this place is tiny. Another tip, make sure if you’re meeting people to give them the address, there’s another location on Ira Woods. The service is always excellent. This is a great spot for groups, a date, or night with friends. Take your out of town friends here, they’ll be impressed! The Chicken Genovese is always a favorite among friends, I usually get the Angel Hair Pomodoro since I’m vegetarian. Portions are so big and every meal comes with a salad so sharing is caring here. All their dessert is fantastic, especially the tiramisu.

I love Italian food and this is one of the best places I’ve been. I love that it’s BYOB and the atmosphere is great– low lighting but not too quiet. I want to update. Even though my experience dining in was great, my experience with picking up food was terrible. I explained exactly what I wanted and when I got home it was completely wrong. I called to tell them and they didn’t even offer to correct it. They basically said«too bad». They were extremely rude when I went in to pick up the food, and the bread was cold and not even toasted. I doubt I will ever go back.

I found Café Italia shortly after I moved to Texas. This unassuming Italian restaurant doesn’t look too fancy from the outside but the interior is so cute. It’s very quaint and is always busy. The best part… Wait for it… It’s BYOB. Their food is great and very reasonably priced. My favorite appetizers are the stuffed mushrooms and the escargot and my favorite entrees are the tortellini with vodka sauce and the chicken parmesan. They serve salads with each entrée and their homemade house dressing is fantastic. If you’re in the mood for desert, their Spumoni is delightful!

Great BYOB that provides an array of American Italian food. The service was good and prompt. We never waited for anything and they repoured our wait. The Chicken Parm is pan seared and delicious. It’s accompanied w a side of spaghetti and a salad for $ 17. I had the chicken ritoni special and it was quite good. Great place and extremely affordable Tip — make a reservation as the place holds about 20 – 25 tables. It’s very intimate

After our first attempt to dine at Café Italia did not go as planned last night due to no reservations and it being a full house, we were diligent in our efforts, made reservations and came back the very next night. We found the hostess and wait staff to be extremely friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was casual, cozy, yet a bit cliched with artwork at the back of the establishment of The Sopranos. It’s a «bring your own» wine establishment; after the wine was poured, a generic bread basket followed shortly after. A bit taken aback that the bread wasn’t more unique. Just your typical plain French bread, not even dipping oil with pepper provided. The salads included a green romain leafy lettuce with some shredded carrots topped with some cheese and ground pepper and tomato vinagrette. Simple and sweet. The lasanga appeared a bit mushy and sloppy caked with cheese and marinera sauce. Lasanga should not dissolve on the plate, you should see each distinct layer and each bite should invite your taste buds to crave each remaining piece till the end. I did not feel the invitation. The linguine and clams soaked in white wine was exactly how I envisioned it — a bit salty, softer pasta with bits of garlic and clam meat. A much more positive invite with this dish.

We’ve been to both locations multiple times– never had a bad experience or meal! We usually get the chicken rollatini(sp?) special(it’s chicken rolled with spinach, cheese… Can’t remember what else), chicken Marsala or chicken Rossini. All of them are great! Being calorie-conscious, I always request a side of veggies(which is usually zucchini, sometimes green beans) instead of the side of pasta(small bowl of noodles with simple marinara sauce). Never have an issue with that! I’ve read mixed reviews on the house salad dressing– we like it, but get it on the side if you’re concerned about it! My ONLY complaint would be the ambiance/atmosphere… Definitely feels like you’re in a mom and pop place in suburbia, which you are! MUSTDO: make reservations!!! They get busy!!! And, bring a bottle(or 2!) of wine. Side note: if I had to choose between the 2 locations, I’d choose the other one: the other one almost always brings free bruschetta and end-of-dinner-dessert-shots(like baileys).

I use to come here long ago and moved away. Since moving back I hadn’t tried it until today. Piccata sauce is very good and had a strong lemon taste which I prefer. The veal and chicken in the sauce were both just ok. The bread half was good half wasn’t. Everything else wasn’t very good. Which the strength of the piccata sauce helps my scoring. But the thing that floored me was how much this place costs now. Kids meals $ 10, the chicken piccata was $ 18.95 and it is not family style. The prices might of been special for Mother’s Day. I’m not certain but they did have a «Special» Mother’s Day menu. Olivia’s in Keller area is by far a much better value and way better food. And I’d say worth the extra drive.
