Fish tacos were awesome! Food was fresh, not at all like the other Mexican restaurants in the Newark area. Staff is very friendly and super chill. I will come here again for sure! If you’re for some reason offended by hippies or stained carpet order your food to go, as you may not appreciate the dining atmosphere.

I plan to give it another try but on a football Sunday, we were greeted by a server who was clearly high and also in sweatpants, who got our order wrong and rarely returned to the table. Eventually we had to hunt down the bartender for the check. Tisk tisk.

Food was poor. It was dry, had no flavor and looked like it had been sitting under a warmer for several minutes. Our visit was at 8 pm or so on a weeknight and the place was dead. Margarita was good. I would drink here but pass on the food.

Don’t miss it. The only thing better than the beer is the tacos. Dan’s «deep south» touch is delightful.

Can’t get over how much I love this place. It’s pretty out of my way living in Columbus, but I typically will get a group of friends together for a night spend thrifting, drinking, and taco-ing. The owners are so friendly and hilarious, even gave us good recommendations for other bars in the neighborhood if we wanted to keep our party going ;). I’ve got some great thrift finds there any they are always willing to haggle. The remodel looks great and I’m excited to see what It looks like with the upstairs shop re-opened. Food is good. Nothing spectacular, and sometimes a little slow. But this place has so much character that I’ve never minded. Great beer selection and generally one of the best ways to spend an evening with friends!

House margarita was excellent, as were the fish tacos. This place is pretty unconventional, being located in a thrift shop, but having lived in Granville for a long time, I think Taco Dan’s is just what the village needs. The food tastes great, the prices are reasonable, and the owners are real characters. I can easily see becoming a regular here.

I have a bone to pick with this place. I had heard/read great things, and when I walked in I was so excited because it seemed so unique and cool. The people were extremely friendly and courteous. However after we ordered, we waited an HOUR for our food. So disappointing. We only ordered one salad and one burrito, and there was only one other group in there at the time. When the salad came it was tiny(especially for the price) but it was delicious and the guacamole was incredible. My boyfriend had the same to say about his burrito as well. All in all, the food is definitely great but listen when I say, if you are starving and are hoping to get your food within 10 – 30 min, go elsewhere. Or, get a strong margarita to take your mind off of how hungry you are for the time being. I can’t imagine what it’s like on a busy day.

Amazing tacos, friendly staff, fast service… I was the only customer so I don’t know how fast they are when busy but my experience was great! I didn’t know what to order so was given an overview of their menu and picked the #1– two«fat» tacos, with ground beef. Wow! I don’t know what spices they use but it was definitely a flavor explosion in my mouth, in the best way possible! I can’t wait to go back and try more!

We just moved to town and thought this place was a little ‘odd.’ We were wrong! This place is awesome! Great food, great people!

Best bang for your buck when it comes to burritos. The food is delicious and doesn’t cost you an arm and a leg. The Margs are extremely strong, so if you get a pitcher, make sure you share with multiple people or have a DD!

The food was great. So fresh and tasty. Great margaritas too. The setting is a little too cluttered for my taste. It’s like one room of dining &3 rooms of yard sale. Also, I don’t think I would bring my child. The language I overheard was not something I want my child to hear.

Taco Dan’s is a unique spot in Granville. Located in a college town, this hole in the wall establishment offers Mexican eats– in a thrift store. While the food was decent, the«relaxed» attitude of the staff was off-putting & slightly frustrating. An eclectic collage highlighted the business’ difficulty obtaining a liquor license, & subsequently were sued by the city of Granville for violating their business license. This«memorabilia» would lead one to think that the proprietors are proud of their blatant defiance of the town of Granville’s laws. In summary, if you’re into taco shops, in thrift stores, run by hippies– this is the place for you. If not, don’t go. The end.

Found this place on Unilocal and it was quite surprisingly good! The melts are better than the tacos, the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is that they use mostly flour tortillas which I prefer but its less authentic. Its a very interesting location but great hours!

House Margarita is WAYSTRONG! Loved it! Deluxe nachos and pork tacos rocked. Fresh ingredients. Tons of beer options. Menu items written on a chalk board. Casual stop. Highly recommended by a local friend and colleague. Totally will go back. Great Friday night stop!

Fish tacos were phenomenal! Better than anything I’ve had in the Mission in SF! The house margarita is also excellent. The live music at the open mic on Thursday nights often attracts excellent musicians. This place is a boon for Granville!

I’m a big believer in the 3 T’s: tacos, tequila and thrifting. But have you ever been to a taco stand inside a thrift store? Yeah, me neither — until now. The concept alone is clearly 5 star worthy. Great prices, great quality, and service with a smile as you watch them make the food right in front of you — which helps throw any initial health code concerns out the window, considering the small seating area is surrounded by fur coats and used novels. Regardless, their home made nachos are perfectly seasoned and every dipping option is DELISH. You must experience this for yourself. Dan, I dig it.

I’m in love with Taco Dan’s and it’s probably because 1. I love quirky weird places like this 2. I love tequila The restaurant is located in a house that also holds a secondhand clothing store called Footloose. The food here has always been good for me and the prices are pretty reasonable and I love the drinks. The price for pitchers is fantastic, but watch out for the margaritas because they are very strong. I would say never have more than 2 glasses cause that’s all you’re going to need. The people who work Taco Dan’s are incredibly nice and are fun to talk to which definitely makes every dining experience more fun than the last. So go check it out!
