Great park! Bathrooms, varied play equipment, covered and uncovered eating areas. Nice!

Lovely park on the river. Took the kids here for a picnic lunch while we were driving through Grants Pass. The park is quite large and has a nice play area. The river is gorgeous. We had to drag our daughter away kicking and screaming.

We’re taking over the in-laws rental on E. Park St and get the privilege of having the park directly across the street from us. We have only walked through the park once and was shocked at how clean and anti-graffiti it was. Coming from the Bay area, we can’t walk down the street without seeing gang graffiti and tagging. Everyone in the park was police and said hi. The best part was having the Rogue River so close and the dogs having a good time in it. I predict a lot of walks here and relaxing along the Rogue.

You just gotta love the Southern Oregon vibe. This is yet another park where minding your own business and having some beers down by the river won’t attract cops. It’s just the norm down here, I guess. This park is big, has a disc-golf course, and plenty of shade for those hot days. The portion of the Rogue that runs alongside this park is a but scummy, but that’s to be expected considering the city surrounding it. I suggest you stay out of it or shower immediately after taking a dip.

I’ve never been so grateful to a park in my life. Traveling from Portland to Mt Shasta, we stopped in Grants Pass for lunch. We used Unilocal to find something nicer than fast food to eat and ended up at Taprock. And what to our wondering eyes did appear, but Riverside Park. Did I mention we were traveling with a 3 year old? It ended up being a 1.5 hour layover between eating and playing in the park, but boy did he sleep in the car when we left. The playground is half new-fangled playground and half old-school I-remember-those play structure. And yes, I know I’m all out of halves, but get this: They have an actual, for real, digger, tractor, and steam roller. All of the moving parts have been welded and the whole things painted in primary colors. Did we mention the 3 year old is a boy? Best. Playground. Ever.
