This place is a gem. We had the guacamole which is a large amount made fresh at your table. The chili rellano which was fabulous and the pablano pepper soup. The soup was one of the best Soups that I have ever had. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The place was clean and well decorated. It will be our regular stopping place whenever we travel through Grants Pass. We live 4 hrs away or it would become a regular haunt. I highly recommend it.

The people were very friendly and the food was excellent. I highly recommend getting their table side guacamole, filet mignon, or gypsy plate.

Very good food and service. I travel a lot and this was a unique place to try. Not super spicy but just enough to know it’s there. Prices are very reasonable. The ambiance was pleasant. I will definitely be back and will recommend it to my friends and family.

When we walked in there about six people in the building. The Restaurant looked clean and well taken care of. When chips arrived at table they were mixed with corn chips and homemade potato chips. At that point I thought we were in trouble. As I looked at the menu: The second appetizer on the menu were Puerto Rican nachos. Being Puerto Rican I was little bit put off by that. Not that I couldn’t be Puerto Rican and make nachos but how often are Puerto Ricans noted for their nacho skills? Really? I ordered the basic fillet cooked to medium. When it arrived I immediately forgot about the nacho debacle and was pleasantly surprised with the aroma of my dish. The rest was bliss. My food was AMAZING. Service was outstanding. I highly recommend this for anyone.

Deliciousness! Authentic! Was so happy to find food this good in this town as I’ve been quite disappointed with the quality of food here. I would recommend to everyone!

I posted this a year ago at the«Gtano’s MOVED» review: I’m so glad I found this(no thanks to Unilocal’s directions on how to get here) tonight. It’s as wonderful as the other reviews say, and do get the fresh guacamole made right at your table side! It’s wonderful, the chips and coleslaw and cilantro sauce that come with the chips are wonderful, and tonight’s special was mahi mahi, which I ordered, and it was served with a scoop of rice, a fruit salad, and a wonderful warmed fruit sauce on top of the fish, with a big pineapple top on the plate. It was a beautiful presentation, and everything was so, so, so good. I topped it all off with flan, which was probably the best I’ve ever had. I’m going to have to go back twenty or thirty more times in order to work my way through the menu. I returned tonight and enjoyed yet another delightful meal at Gtano’s. I’ve returned probably half a dozen times in the past year and every single meal was a pleasure. The food is wonderful and fresh and unique, the décor is beautiful, the atmosphere is delightful, the servers are attentive and friendly, and bottom line, everything just suits me here. If I’m looking for a nice, quiet place to enjoy really good food and treat myself, this is where I go, every time. Tonight I was in the mood for just a light little dinner and ordered the panini. I really wasn’t expecting much — not much food, not much creativity, just something nice and simple. Was I ever surprised! There was a good bit of chicken, as well as grilled peppers and onions inside two ample slices of panini bread; filling in the spaces on the plate we had sweet potato fries, a salad with spicy coleslaw, greens and tomatoes, and an ensemble of fresh melon, pineapple and — was that jicama? It was wonderful. I topped it all off with — again! — the best flan I’ve ever had. A year later, Gtano’s is still my favorite dinner restaurant in Grants Pass.

OMG! Great Latin food in the heart of Grants Pass, Oregon. Who would have thought! Reservations recommended unless going early. Staff is supper friendly and helpful! An excellent array of spices. Be warned if they say it’s spicey it is!

DOIT! Go now! We stopped here during vacation as we passed through town near dinnertime. We were blown away by the friendly and prompt staff, the speed with which our entrees arrived and the quality & size of the dish. The(free) fresh tortilla and plantain chips were warm and sooooo fresh and the cilantro/lime salsa was our favorite. We are trying to replicate it at home! The flan was delicious… and much more dense and rich than I am accustomed to.

We were looking for a place to eat as we drove between Eugene and Medford. Read the reviews and decided to give this spot a try. WOW! Food was so tasty, service was very warm and friendly. Enjoyed a Carne Asada burrito, with a delicious collection of salsas. The table-side guacamole didn’t disappoint. Will absolutely be back next time we’re driving through!

The service is exceptional. The pleasant waitress even went outside her comfort zone and made her first and decent Pisco Sour upon request. Food is excellent all ingredients taste fresh and delightful, definitely coming back for more. Clean family oriented restaurant… check it out! You won’t be disappointed.

Such amazingly delicious food! And the staff are so very friendly! We used to order our company lunches from here before they changed their hours, and we miss getting their food for lunch very much. The guacamole is incredible! It’s rare to run across food like this in the valley, we are lucky to have them in Grants Pass!

I have been to most restaurants in the area but this one by far is one of the best. The décor is really nice and one thing that just stood out to me was how clean the place is. Not a spec of dust anywhere I looked and fresh flowers on the table were a nice touch. The food is amazing I have had a burrito and the azada dish, and they both were just amazing. The service was on point the waitress seemed very happy and was kind. Our glasses were never empty and they put your leftovers in trays for you. I definitely will return it’s nice to eat Mexican based cuisine that is fresh, and not a plate full of greasy ass cheese where you leave the place with the itus effect. Five stars from me!

I am absolutely delighted I gave this restaurant a try. The minute you walk in, the décor is welcoming and warm. The service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the chili relleno which was flavorful, tender and just spicy enough. The added sautéed garden vegetables, fluffy rice and rich black beans made it a tasty meal. I also got the coconut shrimp appetizer. They were good but don’t go for them, go for the authentic, unique dishes they offer or for their great spin on traditional Spanish ones. Even the chips/salsa had a fun flare. There were thick cut fried potato chips mixed in! Great all around. I can’t wait to try other dishes! YUM.

Amazing! I had the Seafood Chile Relleno. It was alright. My husband had the Gypsy Platter. Oh my the steak melted in your mouth. It was wonderful. The table side Guacamole Fresco is worth the $ 8! We can’t wait to go back and try more. Oh and the staff is so nice. They made us feel so welcome.

Stopped in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. Great service. Friendly waitress. Chips and 2 types of dips served, one was a cabbage type slaw and the other was a cilantro dip. So good. She brought us 2 servings. We had pulled pork burrito with black beans and rice and tomatillo sauce. Everything was all fresh food. She told us nothing came from a can. And it tasted like it. Prices were very good for what we got. Large portions served. Definitely will return.

Our first visit to Gtano’s was a very pleasant one. Gtano’s is a quiet restaurant-bar within downtown Grants Pass at the G-Street Marketplace. We had only heard of Gtano’s by word of mouth and when we checked Unilocal for the word on the street, there was very little. After viewing their menus on the sidewalk sandwich board we agreed they had something for each of us. Unfortunately, we missed the 3pm-to-5pm Happy-Hour, but that didn’t stop us from trying their margaritas. My Cadillac Margarita on-the-rocks, and my wife’s blended Strawberry Margarita were both delicious. This may end up being my favorite place for Margaritas if the quality remains consistent! My son’s Vodka Martini was reportedly good as well. «Gtano’s Nuevo Latin Cuisine» — as the name implies — is a «new» or «contemporary» approach to standard offerings of Latin-Mexican food. Each dish we tried was very flavorful. Don’t expect giant platters of beans, rice, and chopped veggies. Instead, expect quality ingredients in an attractive presentation. Although the beans and rice are rather plain, they still are good quality. I had the Seafood Chile Relleno, a delicious seafood medley in cream-sauce served over an open-grilled Poblano Chile. My wife’s steak dish — «Filete Parrillero» is a marinated skirt steak presented sizzling on a cast-iron bovine-shaped platter; not cut into strips like a fajita, and not served with tortillas. It does arrive with flavorful grilled onions, peppers, mushrooms, served along with fried potatoes and rice. My son’s meal, «Camarones Envueltos en Tocino»(shrimp wrapped in bacon), was as flavorful as it sounds. We were comfortably full, but I still had room to sample the Flan dessert. Often times Flan is soft-smooth vanilla custard. This Flan has the texture of pumpkin pie or a soft cheesecake. It’s good, but everyone has their own idea of what makes a good Flan. Dessert choices are very limited. We wish the wonderful-friendly staff at Gtano’s the very best in the future. It seem that these people got it just right!
