A must try place! One of my Army co-workers insisted we try this place. We each ordered appetizers and meals: hot wings, chips, jalapeño poppers and I can’t recall the last item. The apps were delicious and the portion sizes were generous. The buffalo tacos(grilled chopped chicken) were good but the burgers and fries seemed to be the best according to my other 2 co-workers. My favorite was the hot wings. The sauce was great not buttery and the wings were cooked to how I like which is slightly crispy. My recommendation is to try what’s on the board first. This is a great place to eat and the staff was super friendly to us. Also, what makes us want to come back is that the guy working there recommended us another local restaurant to try! Love to see GC supporting other businesses.

Okay, don’t ask, don’t ask, but hey I went to Jacobsmeyer’s(thanks to my BF) and I am sold — hook, line and sinker! This is a cool place to hang out on a Friday or Saturday night. Music is going, there are flatscreens available and enough seating if you get there in time. I’m kinda late because I’ve been there several times during the Ilinois Fire Soccer games, which we came here after each game. The drinks are good and OHMY — the grilled chicken sandwich! I’m sorry, but I’m hooked! I will drive from home to here just for that freaking sandwich! I’m spoiled… but I’ve also had the wings, chicken Quesidilla, grilled burgers and fries, which are also good. It can get very loud in this place, but not so to where you can’t hear your conversation. This is a local establishment, I’m guessing, but if you are in G.C., I recommend this place!

I went to Jacobsmeyer’s Tavern tonight with some friends. Out in Granite City, IL. What was I doing all the way out here? The world may never know. Anyway, we walked in, and it was a pretty hopping place! Lots and lots of 20-somethings there getting their drink(and eat!) on. Many attractive guys. I was a happy girl. Anyway, I ordered a Blue Moon(on draft — delicious!) and… a fried bologna sandwich. Oh yeah. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it – I used to LOVE this when I was a kid, so when I saw it on the menu, I just KNEW I had to have it. Only in Granite City, baby… only in Granite City. It was served with a side of fries and came out pretty quickly. The bread was toasted, and the bologna — all three THICK slices of it – was piled on, along with a healthy slathering of pepperjack cheese sauce. Health food this was NOT, folks! The sandwich was rich. Delicious, but I could only down about a third of it before my tummy cried for mercy. I loved every greasy bite that I did consume. Best part of the whole thing? It was CHEAP! The sandwich, along with a healthy serving of fries, was less than 6 bucks. Only in Granite City, baby… only in Granite City.
