I enjoy the Grand Rapids Press. It gives me an overview of the national and international news. The local coverage is incredible. And I can follow happening events on . I use a computer for many hours during the week. So I enjoy holding the newspaper, reading it, and even tearing things out when I want to save them. I have many other sources for national and international news. The columnists give a good balance of viewpoints.

I’m thinking about moving back to GR where I grew up. A major road block is the GR Press. Where is the news as in local, national, and international. Investigative reporting, nah. Where are the columnists of all viewpoints? The reviewers only give good reviews, unhelpful when trying to check out new places. The are ads, tons of ads. So many ads that you’d think there would be money enough to hire good reporters and cover the news spectrum or subscribe to Reuters, AP, NY Times News Service. When I asked friends, «Why don’t you get the Press.» The common answer was a laugh with«Have you read it?» They subscribe to the Detroit Free Press. A newspaper is the face of a city. Does this mean GR is faceless or just so into gross consumerism the publishers confuse a newspaper with the weekly ad sheet?
