I was worried there would be a long line because that’s what a lot of the reviewers said. I went at 1PM on a Saturday and less than 25% of the restaurant was filled! Got the breakfast pizza with fennel sausage and chorizo, and spring grapefruit fizz. Breakfast pizza is big enough to feed two average people for an average meal, but small enough that I could finish it on my own if I was feeling ambitious. Delicious and Instagram-able food, and the high-ceiling makes for a great atmosphere! Will definitely visit again!

The place is quite good. Opened with the Charcuterie tray, which was outstanding. Dry cured sausage, rilletes, duck ham, pickled veggies. Not at all salty as you might expect from a charcuterie tray. Each had a house salad. Came with a generic balsamic dressing. It was fine: it is hard to be outstanding with a plate of greens. But it was fresh, so no complaints. Wife had a pork chop. Thick, juicy, fatty(which is what pork ought to be). Cooked to medium(which is what pork ought to be). Quite good! I had sea scallops. Not sure how you do a farm to table with sea scallops in the Midwest :). But I got it for the mushrooms on the plate. Scallops were a bit too done… not a show stopper. Tempted by the duck option, but because this is Michigan, you legally cannot serve duck without cherries. Which is fine, but has been done to death. Waitress was knowledgeable, attentive without hovering, and friendly. We just moved to Western Michigan from Chicago, where you can’t swing a dead sheep without hitting a farm to table. This restaurant was on par with similar restaurants in Chicago. I fear that the poor reviews below stem from inaccessibility: I watched another table which ordered the rillettes, which were left untouched. To the proprietors: I get you and I like what you are doing. To potential visitors: Try something besides a burger. You might be surprised. Why 4 stars instead of 5? 1) slightly overdone scallops 2) price seemed a wee bit high.

Went here for Brunch and it was definitely worth every dollar! Although it is quite pricey, the food was delicious! We ordered the Breakfast Pizza with Chorizo, Sticky Apple, and Biscuits and gravy! I also got the Grand Mimosa which was delicious! The pizza was so fresh and the egg on top of it sunny side up, was the master piece to it all! I loved going here while I was in town!

Anytime someone asks me where I want to go to lunch I always promptly and immediately say Terra. Although the whole menu is great, the best thing ever is the kale Caesar salad with pulled turkey. The flavors are spot on and the kale itself has a better consistency than other kale I have had. The pizzas are also very good as are many of the sandwiches. We have been there for brunch as well which is a treat. I especially like the mini apple cinnamon bun. They are sticky and delicious. Definitely a great place to go for any meal. The service is always good.

First time eating at Terra. Musseled along with the mushroom pizza. I was really into«M» on Friday. I liked it. Not loved it. But I liked it. Thumbs up. But one, not two. I’d just stick to pizza, salads(because those are two thumbs up at Terra), and mussels. And plenty of drinks. I wouldn’t waste my time looking at anything else. Or thinking about anything else. Haven’t yet had the brunch, but sounds amazing — I’ll give it a go one of these days.

There’s always a wait because I don’t make reservations with my crazy schedule, but I can always get a seat at the bar and there’s a reason why… the service at the bar is s-l-o-w! And they are not really interested in the business that sits there. Drinks are good though. Now on to the food: Cubans should never have mayo or aioli or lettuce or veggies, never ever. One word MOJO, wish it had some and that someone had remembered to put mustard on it too. And a baguette for a Cuban? I’ve also had the salads which are really good but the croutons were over cooked & tasteless. The duck was delicious & well prepared, my favorite of the meals we have had there. I’ve also tried the cioppini, it was spicy but nice, but lacking much seafood except the the scallops and mussels as stated on the menu.

This is my favorite place in GR. Whether you’re there for brunch, lunch, happy hour, dinner or a night cap you can’t go wrong. The Kale Cesar is one of my favorite items on the menu and the Terra 75 is my go to cocktail on a warm day. Their brunch pizzas are amazing and they always have a new creation on the menu. The ambiance is great and they have a fantastic patio for people watching in the warm weather months.

My friends and I made a last-minute reservation for Sunday brunch, but we were able to be seated when we arrived 30 minutes earlier. Make sure to reserve a table because I saw a lot of people waiting for a table and eventually leaving. Terra GR is beautiful inside but quite noisy. Our waitress was great but because it was packed, we did wait a bit to get our food and checks. I ordered the bread pudding French toast with blueberry compote. It was excellent except for the ricotta on top, it was a lot more pungent and not as sweet as I’m used to, but overall a solid dish. My side of bacon was delicious! One friend ordered a vegetarian breakfast burrito and it was really good! The salsa on top was a nice touch. Another friend ordered the orange ginger pancakes, and the flavor reminded me of ginger snap cookies. I was a little disappointed that the honey butter on top didn’t taste like honey, just plain ol butter. Sunday brunch wasn’t AMAZING, but I will come back to explore the lunch/dinner and drink menus.

I have a new favorite sandwich! The Turkey kale Caesar. It’s amazing. I’ve always wanted to order it, but I can’t ever seem to stray from the amazing pizzas. But at lunch the other day, I finally did it, and I’m so glad I did. I love the kale Caesar salad so of course I loved this sandwich. The turkey is smoked and tender, combined with the kale, awesome dressing, and those amazing crunchy croûton things.(I really have no idea what they are, but they are so delicious!) It comes with pickled veggies on the side which were an awesome addition on the sandwich. The bread is probably my favorite, it’s a homemade baguette that’s perfectly toasted and soft on the inside. It comes with kettle chips but you can upgrade to soup or a side salad.

If I had to describe Terra GR in one word, it would be «overrated» We ended up going back to Terra GR because of all the rave reviews, and a few friends telling us we should give it another try. So we did. We went out with another couple and tried several things. It was a good learning experience but it did confirm some of my initial impressions. Overall, it was a touch better than our initial visit. The service: Not great. Our server was friendly, but she knew little about the menu, telling my wife«Um, I don’t know» when asked about the vegan option for the cobbler topping. Wow. Although she was attentive early on, we actually had to send someone to hunt her down to get our check. No, not good at all The ambiance: Not bad. Fun, bustling and quite a nice energy with decent décor. The food: Depends on what you’re looking for. Their attempts at higher end cuisine = poor. The pizza and burgers = apparently good. The drinks: Ugh, terrible! I had a «Mitten Old Fashioned» which could technically qualify as an ‘Old Fashioned’ since it had whiskey, bitters and a twist, but tasted like watered down depression. We started with some Smoked Trout Spread, which was not a big hit. It was fairly flavorless and I had to eat about 90% of it because the other 3 diners only ate ½ a crostini-full. The Miso Kale salad was the best part of the meal, being very flavorful and satisfying… but it was unfortunately all downhill from there. The ‘Chicken and Biscuits’ entrée had some tasty chicken, but the biscuits were dry and tough while the accompanying ‘vegetable gravy’ was too sparse to moisten them. My wife got the Gemelli with shrimp, which she found to be «good for the first 3 bites, but too rich to finish» The dessert was probably the lowest point of the meal. I got the«Vegan Chocolate Cake», which was essentially packing peanuts with a dollop of «screw you, hippie!» on the top. My wife got the«Seasonal Fruit Cobbler» with the vanilla bean crème anglaise topping(mainly because the waitress could not tell us what the«vegan topping» was and we had already been surprised enough that evening.) Still, she did in fact get a surprise in that the cobber had not been cooked and was doughy and raw. We sent that one back, but I did my best to finish my ‘Chocolate-Frosted Styrofoam.’ No takers to help me with my dessert after another diner tried a bite and exclaimed«Yeah, that’s not good, dude.» What I did notice as I sat at my table becoming progressively more disillusioned, was that an awful lot of other patrons were looking much happier with their pizza and burgers. In fact, 5 out of 6 tables had pizza brought to them. I think the regulars were on to what I had only just discovered: skip the high-end apps, entrees and drinks and just get the pizza, burgers and a beer. You’ll leave happier and with substantially more money…

Visting some GR friends, my host raved about the mushroom pizza here and said he was a regular. We went on a Saturday night. I guess this is a upscale, trendy hotspot in the city so he made reservations. He lives in walking distance which made things easier. My friend was on point about the pizza. He started out the evening with a poorly timed joke which only perturbed the waitress. It did not deter our solid service. Glancing over the menu, the menu had some interesting fare but mostly ho hum. I was impressed with the farm to table concept. The interior décor, sleek, modern, and minimalist. Someone mentioned being able to see the cooks which is cool. Although highly busy, our food came quickly. My table of 4 ordered beers, two pies: sausage/kale, mushroom/goat cheese/kale, and the mussels/chorizo app. Now, I must admit, I was hesitant about the kale but my boy was buying so who was I to complain! Needless to say, the kale actually complimented both pizzas shockingly well. The sausage pie had some of the best pizza sausage I’ve had. Top notch. Crust was on point. Nice wood oven char. Both outstanding pies and highly recommended. The mushroom one uses creminis I believe. The goat cheese was an amazing compliment to the shrooms and Kale. The mushroom pie is a white pizza so no sauce. The sauce was not even missed with this tasty pie. Although I love mussels, I didnt eat much but it was quite popular with the table. Only negative is I wanted to try some bourbon tea drink they had but they were out. Order a martini which did not come served in a martini glass, which is a small pet peeve. Craft beer choice but not an extensive beer selection here. When in GR, this will def be a go-to spot. People mention its a bit pricey. But as a upscale spot of this nature it is about right in prices. Quality makes it worth it.

My mom, my sister and I stopped in here one afternoon a few weeks ago. I actually saw it highlighted on «withthelocals» Instagram feed and it happened to be close to the appointment we had been to so we figured we’d check it out. The ambiance was great, it was really quite quiet at lunch time on a week day. I ordered the mushroom pizza and dang, so much flavor packed into that thing! It was delicious. It was also way more than enough for one person. We probably could have all split it and been okay. My mom and sister were also both pleased with their meal choices. The kale Caesar sandwich and the sandwich with beets and goat cheese. I’m back in town this week and I’m coming for you Terra!

While I’ve yet to try their(apparently) wonderful brunches, my review is on their lunch menu. My friend, who is already a huge fan of Terra, brought me here with such enthusiasm that I couldn’t help but be excited for the food here. The environment is very well-done. It’s warm, it’s modern, it’s a bit rustic. Anyways, we started off with the Red Beet & White Bean Hummus, which was an interesting twist on the Mediterranean dish. The red beet gave it a bright pink shade and gave a somewhat crisp taste that contrasted with the creaminess of the bean. The hummus came with raw vegetables and crostinis too. For the entrée, I had the Proscuitto & Arugula pizza which was rather large for one person. Either ways, it was fresh baked and absolutely delicious. Some reviews complained about the $ 15 for a personal pizza but considering the size, the local arugula, and house-pulled mozzarella, it was well worth it to me. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. The environment and the food were both excellent. My only complaint was the service. While Shay(?) was kind, the service was rather slow and it took an awfully long time to place our orders.

$ 16 for a breakfast pizza? What is this nonsense? But I ordered it anyway because my curiosity got the best of my financial logic. And boy, I was so happy it did! It wasn’t a personal sized pizza… it was enough to feed two or three! In fact, Terra’s breakfast pizza raised a new standard to what breakfast pizzas should taste like. Forget the microwaveable breakfast pizzas from Sam’s Club. Bring on the sunny side up egg, bacon, kale and hollandaise sauce! Buttery brunch goodness with every savory bite! The overall concept was new to my taste buds and it was pleasantly DELICIOUS. The crust was baked to a perfect crisp with the help of a stone brick oven and the toppings were amazing together. Except the potatoes. Personally, the potatoes was a misplaced texture. It was too soft. I would have preferred crunchy hash browns instead. Just sayin. I loved how modern this restaurant was and I loved their napkins! Plus, they have beer and brunch cocktails. Perfect for wine, liquor and beer fanatics alike.(They also have growlers). My friends and I sat pretty close to the open kitchen which every diner could see. The line cooks were working so hard and I couldn’t help but tally what else I wanted to try when I’m in Grand Rapids again. Everything that came out of the kitchen was beautifully plated. I’ll be sure to come back and try their breakfast burrito. The overall service was a tad bit slow. The wait was 45 minutes but the host txted us when our table was ready.(It wasn’t too bad b/c we enjoyed some coffee at a café next door) Our waitress took a while to give us our bill… BUT– When she did, our bill came with a recipe card! What a nice additional touch! Overall 5 stars for a busy Sunday brunch service. :) I’ll be back!

Quality food in a trendy environment sums it up. Terra GR is a farm-to-table restaurant located in Eastown off Lake Drive. Black trim, woodblock tables, exposed structural pillars and soft lighting sets the mood. Their menu offers a wide variety of locally sourced options, many of which are available gluten-free. I ordered the five spice short rib, which came plated with charred scallion purée. kimchi and brown basmati rice. It was very good. Fall apart rich braised beef, tender rice and a slight sourness from the kimchi for contrast. Their cocktails are great too, strong and well prepared. I had the vanilla and hazelnut mule(vanilla bean infused vodka. frangelico and Terra’s ginger beer). Service was ok. We were seated and served promptly. Nothing memorable, but nothing to deter me from returning ether.

I have only been here for Sunday brunch, but let me tell you, try the French Toast RIGHTNOW. It is so amazingly good that you’ll be drooling and wanting more! I am very picky when it comes to my food, but it is perfection. it tastes great with a Grand Mimosa to drink with. Any Sunday that I’m not too hungover is a Sunday I try to rush to Terra so I can have a great start to my day. I love the relaxing atmosphere and the hospitality. The little details in this restaurant is what makes it. The immaculate presentation, the recipe you get at the end of your meal, and the fact that everything from the countertops to the pitcher of water you get go so well together. It is really nice to see a business really has every detail in mind. Trust me, it’s noticed.

I walked out of Terra floored. FLOORED. Hands down the best customer service experience I’ve had in I don’t know how long. Plus the food was amazing. Starting from the beginning – we came in right at the tail end of their Saturday brunch. From the moment I walked in I was impressed – a very cool space – huge ceilings, lots of natural light, cool wood detail, etc. I really dug it. When we first sat down our awesome waitress asked us if that was our first time in. We answered in the affirmative and she welcomed us. This happens a lot of places and isn’t THAT noteworthy but but it comes into play for the end of our meal so stay tuned! The brunch menu is fairly substantial with egg dishes, sweets, sandwiches, salads, pizza, etc. Lots to choose from. I was feeling eggy so I went with the mushroom omelet with the onion and rice toast. We also split an order of the potato cakes(basically small patties of pan fried mashed potatoes). So tasty! The omelet was fantastic. Simple but oh so good. Stuffed with creamy goat cheese and topped with a mushroom cream sauce with a side of mixed greens. I was in heaven. During our meal our very attentive and awesome waitress checked in on us on the regular. Neither my water glass nor coffee cup dropped below half full. As we wrapped up our meal(I joined the clean plate club) our waitress came back over with a complimentary sticky bun and a thank you card signed by all of the staff as thanks for coming in and trying Terra. It was that point that I was like«OMGTHISISTHEBESTPLACE!» I have been to many an amazing eatery with great service but never have I ever been given a THANKYOUCARD. Amazing. Oh and that sticky bun? The bomb. Prices for brunch are really reasonable($ 11 for my omelet) and they also have a great wine list and brunch cocktails. We took a peek at the dinner menu and found that just as impressive. Counting down the hours before I can visit again. A+++ experience across the board!
